El Hostel is very conveniently located, right next to the groom's park, where is the rumba area of Santa Marta Bay, the weekend that I was there, there was a touch of sauce on Fridays and Saturdays, a good group and good sauce, the attention is magnificent, the prices are very good, and the food is delicious.

A pleasant place.

The hostel is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is surrounded by nightclubs and it is literally impossible to sleep. At 2 am I had to leave the hotel. Very nice, but I don't recommend it.

Noise, a lot of noise!!!!!

It's located super nicely in the heart of the groom's park.On the night I arrived there was a touch of salsa and good music.The prices are fair for drinks and the guys at the hostel are very nice.

It's genius!

We had the privilege of staying at Mulata Hostel in the city of Santa Marta, and really managed to live one of the best experiences with both the amenities and the staff working there.

The best moments of your life.

We stayed two nights in Mulata and the quality/price ratio is fair enough, we managed good prices, including breakfast all the rooms, the bar in the evenings has different activities and the food, especially the burritos, are very good!!! The location is definitely the best and the guys who serve it are always super friendly...we would definitely return!

Excellent location and a fun bar!

The hostel has cheap options, but the double bedroom is quite expensive. I like the atmosphere, service was great, breakfast included, coffee not good but very tasty juices. Rental bikes are available and cheap, beside the deposit

Expensive double room, but worth it

Nearby is a supermarket and a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Delicious breakfast, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. ¡Georgi (the bartender) will never let you get bored! Hostel super recommended.

The environment is excellent.

Located in downtown Santa Marta, amongst the bars and restaurants Mulata Hostel offers tourists a great chance to experience the great food and nightlife Santa Marta has to offer. Private rooms here are comfortable, some with fans and others with both fans and air con. Breakfast included in the room rate is pleasant and can be enjoyed whilst sitting in the sunny courtyard which is a great place to chill. Probably not a great place to stay if you’re wanting an early night as it really is very loud until about midnight. The staff were very accommodating - especially Julieth. She continually went out of her way to help us and make us feel at home, also she was very happy to offer us help and advice on the local area. Perfect service!

Wonderful staff!

The +: Super location, in the historic center. Close to restaurants, bars and other nightclubs. The hostel is nice and friendly staff. Special mention of the small earplugs provided for sleeping ^^ The -: Tiny bathroom, very spacious room, extremely noisy at night (but we were able to sleep well with the earplugs).

All right, all right.

Please do not stay there! I got absolutely no sleep due to very loud music being played every night from multiple bars surrounding the property. The room was disgusting, but I wouldn't care if I could only sleep there to have the energy to explore the area during the day. The reception staff was the most rude I've met during my travels, ended up locking the gate and refusing to let me out under the pretext of 'checking the room during check out', refused to call the police. I'm easy going and have been travelling for many years and this has been by far the worst experience ever. No sleep, very rude staff, no information about the city (no maps, the staff was not knowledgable at all), disgusting rooms with ants all over and most of all I DIDN"T FEEL SAFE. There are so many other options in Santa Marta - don't be swayed by their promise of a cheap private room, I'd gotten much much better nights of sleep in 20-bed dorms, met cool people and didn't feel like I needed to call the police to have my human rights respected because of the reception staff locking me in.
