One of the owner (the lady) was quite pleasant and very kind. The breakfast was decent and the location excellent (200 meters from the Beach). They take credit cards! 

However, the whole property should be refreshed and renovated. The rooms were VERY dirty (like they didn't even swept the floor with a broom). The drapery was awful and uncomfortable. There's big signs everywhere with strict do and don't which kind of clash with the rest of Costa Rica. I will not recommend this establishment... only if you have no choices left...

Good location, old property 

The green areas of the place are the best, spacious gardens, direct access to the beach, jacuzzi, clean swimming pool, large, ranches, plenty of vegetation and very well-maintained areas. The only thing that attracts attention are the cabins, which are simple but do require drastic changes in bedding, lavatories, restrooms and shower tiles. The floor is rustic, pretty, clean. The bathrooms are completely enclosed with the room, so they tend to be less private. It includes breakfast that consists of coffee, juice, toast, cheese, jam, and butter, very rich to start the day.

Excellent green areas, cabins occupying investment.

Ruth is an excellent hostess, accessible and the people who work with her are very nice and personalized.The hotel respects areas of the jungle, so much so that we were lucky enough to observe a family of monkey spiders crossing the street to the beach.

Comfortable accommodation, breakfast included, with access to the beach and alberca.

+ Ruth who runs the place is very kind&friendly and helps out if you are planning some tours or have questions.
+ Very big, jungle-like, premises 
+ many birds and iguanas spotted on the property, even monkeys climbing around in front of our room and we also saw a racoon family raiding our garbage can in the front of our door at night
+ huge, well maintained swimming pool with shady chill-out area, we had it to our own most of the time, which we enjoyed very much
+ quiet and peaceful
+ not far to the beach

The restaurant on site is closed in the meantime, 2 restaurants are near by.

On the downside:
- Room run down and worn out, old funiture, not cleaned very well, spiderwebs under the roof
- Room is open all around- all noises heard from surrounding
- bed sheets looked clean but mattress about max 5cm layn flat and you lie directly on the hard woodboard of the bed
- bathroom a few decades old, never seen any refurbishing, the hot water is not adjustable and comes from some kind of self-made shower head which reads: dont touch! I guess you could be electrocuted....
- bathroom appliances, shower-curtain, bathroom tiles in shower, light-switches, cupboards: filthy and gross dirty cause they apparently haven't been cleaned in ages! Every evening we had giant ants in our shower, which were not welcome-but they didn't care....And we had a constant sewer smell which also filled the room, not very pleasant either.
- The shower curtain-bar was almost eaten through full way by the rust
- Wifi in the room only works now and then
- No a/c but loud, old ventilator in the room- no ceilingfan- beware: it can get VERY hot!
- pool towels cost extra: 1USD per day -if you need it

The rooms and bathrooms are in a very bad overall shape, -unfortunately the worst we have seen during our 3 week trip through CR -and all is maintained with minimum effort. With a little TLC the place could be in a much better shape than it currently is, you could easily remove the dusty patina of days long gone by. Ruth is very nice and the pool area is just great, which makes up for it a bit.

My report is based sole on my personal subjective experience and perception during my stay in Jan 2017.


Nice pool but rundown rooms

Among palm trees and iguanas, very beautiful and welcoming bungalows. impeccable cleanliness, warm water, high-performance wifi, nothing is missing! The hotel also boasts the largest swimming pool in Nosara as well as a Jacuzzi with cool beers nearby. Courtesy English or German home, nice breakfast. Located near the paradise beach of Playa Pelada.

Lost bungalows in the jungle

1.The poor customer service of the ranch owner Rene Spinnler. 2.Mr. Rene discriminates guests according to his country of origin told us that he prefers to have American or European guests since tics, according to his scant judgment, are a bunch of fools. 3.I would not recommend this place to anyone, as it is not worth visiting an establishment where guests are not treated with respect and courtesy.

The worst customer service you can imagine.

If you're looking for tranquility in the jungle, among monkeys and iguanas, you'll find it at the rancho suizo. We spent two nights in this hotel and enjoyed the jacuzzi and the swimming pool. The hotel is located near the beach, perfect to admire the sunsets. We were lucky, on the advice of our guests, to be able to watch the turtles nest on a beach a quarter of a mile away! The place is really in the jungle amid animals such as iguanas, monkeys, squirrels, etc. It's true that the facilities would require a fee but for us it was largely enough.

An isolated paradise

I like this place because of the natural environment, easy access to the sea and the attention of Ruth, who always strives to satisfy my fellow cyclists, (in most cases hungry), by preparing a good dinner and offering an energetic breakfast, very early in the morning.

What a lovely place with Ruth's kind attention.

It had been 20 years since our last visit to Nosara.  Each time we return to Costa Rica I think of going back, but we use public transportation and it’s not an easy destination.  This year we decided to return and after searching the internet for a hotel that is authentic to this beautiful jungle location, I found Rancho Suizo.  I am so happy that we decided to forego air conditioning and contrived luxury to spend a week in a lovely little cabin (with very good screening to keep out critters) surrounded by beautiful gardens.  At Rancho Suizo we enjoyed a wonderful swimming pool and jaccuzzi, good food and ice cold beer in a lush tropic setting.  Breakfast is included and we soon found that the fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice, made-to-order eggs, ham and cheese and what I feel certain was homemade jam on fresh French bread toast made lunch unnecessary.  Our hostess, Ruth, was kind and hospitable and even accommodated my odd breakfast request for diet coke, rather than her very good coffee.  These gorgeous, unspoiled places will soon become memories as more and more we check into identical climate-controlled boxes where, after spending a couple hours with chins on chests texting or watching various kinds of tech screens, we will pay someone to show us what Rancho Suizo provides as part of the ambiance.  If you can break out of your comfort zone for a few days and embrace an experience that is still authentic you will not be disappointed.

We Loved Rancho Suizo

I will start off saying that I have stayed in some grungy places before and never complain because I know I get what I pay for. But the grunge is not the worst thing about this place...its the owners. It started out by being scolded by the wife for arriving at 8 PM after our flight was delayed (8 PM, really??) She warmed up a bit after we explained that there were storms in the US causing flight delays everywhere. After we checked in, we could hear her explaining this to the husband who was obviously disgruntled by it.
Now here is the kicker...After our first night and spending most of the day at the beach, we were sitting in the common area quietly chatting and drinking a beer that we had brought with us. In this common area, there is a refrigerator where guests can purchase one kind of beer, a couple types of soft drinks and water. The husband approached us belligerently saying that we could not have our own beer and that we had to buy from the fridge, also saying that "all Americans are alike." Note that there is no bartender or anything for said fridge, just a table, hammock and a fridge. We were trying to apologize and say that we did not know and that we would not do it again but he kept rambling on saying some nonsensical things about how he lived in the US and how horrible it was and how the US was making him lose his Swiss bank account (what? He is Swiss.) But when he said, "Americans are not welcome here, this hotel is for Europeans only," we knew that was it and had to go. We packed up our things immediately and left with nowhere else to go. We had to cancel many planned events because we spent the next 7 days hopping around from hotel to hotel each day (which we were lucky to find  because it was peak season with everything booked.) So, if you find an inexpensive place when everything else is booked solid, you might think twice.
Also, please note that he referred to 'Americans' as not being welcomed. Does this mean Central Americans too? Where the country that he runs this hotel???
I will say that the grounds were beautiful and the path to the beach was great. Sheets were scary. Other than that, I can not say enough bad things about this place.
