All in all my stay was perfect. I am still thinking back with longing. The activities, the different workshops all the knowledge I gained and the experiences I had... breathtaking. One highlight was the night tour through the rainforest. But also the impact which One World tries to give to the communities convinced me about this project.

Warmhearted family, most competent guide, a project with a real vision

I visited again and everything is even better than during my previous visits. It's so nice to see constant improvements. As always, Ken is a very gracious host. His knowledge base and willingness to share that knowledge is a real blessing. He treats you like family :)

Always a wonderful experience!

It's great, we went on our honeymoon and we loved our two nights in October, when there were no more customers. Only the family of Ken, a volunteer from Spain, and the cacao puppy who is a monada. The morning tour was great and we learned a lot about this sustainable and environmentally friendly organic farm. The days were delicious and the bed was super-comfortable. It's not so hard to get anywhere from the village, you just need a good car or a taxi. And you can also do it by bike - if the weather permits and you're in shape :)! You can also take a night tour to see reptiles and other animals. Personally, I think that the season to travel through this seasonal area is the season and October rains less than the season to go down to the bathroom.

It's great and you can't miss the experience!

My son and I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks. Our initial intention was for it to be a learning experience as we were planning on moving to Costa Rica.

And, we learned. A lot. When I first arrived the jungle I have to admit that I was a little uneasy venturing out. But, Ken is very knowledgeable and the first thing he taught us was jungle safety. 

He focused on what we wanted to learn about so that we could get the most out of our stay. The scope was broad. We planted pineapple, seeds of many kinds, learned which plants to use to form a retaining wall to prevent erosion, harvested bananas and learned the process for growing new banana trees, saw a bio-digester first hand and learned the many benefits and how to use it, learned about specific plants to filter gray water, and so much more.

We came as paying guests and we left as friends. You will not feel simply like a customer here. There is genuine warmth and sincerity that would be hard to match.

Coexisting with the Jungle

The whole One World project is amazing! Ken (the host) is super friendly and tells everything about his organic farm and how he runs it. We were totally impressed of all his knowledge which he loves to share with you!! You feel like you are a part of the jungle and the farm.
The accommodations are clean, nice and you can hear the sound of the rain forest all night - that's pure nature!!! The breakfast was different every day and always delicious. The shower were clean and warm.

If you want to you can also do tours with Ken to the Bribri Indians, to a shaman, waterfalls or a other farm where you can produce your own cacao and learn about crazy plants and how the Indians use them. You can even do some hiking trails on the One World farm on your own for free. 

Pure nature in the jungle 

We had some wonderful and interesting days in One World Costa Rica! Ken was the perfect host, always interested in his guests and burning for what he does - saving the rainforest, preserving the indigenous culture and building a unique home and hostel which is self sustainable and surrounded by animals and rainforest. It`s so peacefiul there and yet there is plenty to do, see and experience. You wake up from rainforest sounds, see monkeys, sloths, tucans and plenty of other birds and animals. You get homemade breakfast included and for a small amount also dinner, which is always freshly cooked and it includes food from the farm which also is very traditional. Ken and Adolfo also offer tours around the forest, the farm and to the Bri Bri`s - a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience! We thank him for a few wonderful days in a very special spot in the world!

Great stay in homely and friendly place

- It has an excellent location, close to Manzanillo and Cahuita but in the middle of nowhere and with tranquility. - The facilities are very beautiful and you are in 100% contact with nature. - Ken is very attentive, very friendly and shares a lot of things with the people who stay there, knowledge, anecdotes, dinners, breakfasts... You feel at home and with total confidence. - It has an amazing project that explains and teaches you if you are interested, if you just want to stay there you can also do it, although I think it's best to see what it has because it's amazing. - It has a very good knowledge and is permaculture 100% nothing, if you don't escape it. - It has a very affordable price, so we're going to eat at least dinner there.
