Rio Celeste

Good location to visit the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Nothing else around, in the middle of the countryside and with a restaurant facing very curious (and recommended) tilapia. Room width, normal bathroom and good care from the owners. Not very recommended heating up because the ventilator that has the room makes a tremendous noise and needs to be turned off. Although the road is not very close enough to be heard at night.

Valid for one night.

Perfect location to visit Tenorio and the Rio Celeste it is a cabinas in the back garden, simple but sufficient, no climate, enough bathroom. discrete owner and little space speaking only Spanish.

Simple and well-placed

Located in the countryside near Tenorio Volcano National Park, Nacientes Lodge is a peaceful retreat. Behind the main house is a cottage containing two small apartments. They are fairly basic but fine for an overnight stay. In five weeks of travelling in Central America, this is the first place that didn't have a TV. This didn't bother me as I have yet to switch on one of these TVs. But be warned if this is essential for you.

Bijagua itself is a rather small village with a few cafes and restaurants but nothing that is going to impress the jet-set. If you want to get away from it all Nacientes Lodge in Bijagua is just the place for you.

Bucolic

A very friendly property owner who was asked to keep our bags after making the room (to get to Rio Celeste) clean with hot water when we hadn't had much in Puerto Viejo

Calm and comfortable

2 bedrooms at the back of the garden but difficult access especially when it rains (and we had torrential rains, so we got stuck in the garbage) The room is very rustic and a very strong smell of moisture made us uncomfortable. The owners are not antipathetic but very little communication with them who are sure only speak Spanish but who are not looking to establish relationships. They provide the minimum service breakfast was just right and the orange juice tang is difficult to get through in a country that receives barley. This is the least accommodation although we have in 3 weeks at the Costa Rica and which has a very disappointing quality/x ratio.

We spent three nights here, in contact with nature, on the trees of the park there were orangutan-like monkey cones, and a hummingbird nest was right in front of the door of our boungalow.

That's so cute.

The owner is a very kind and attentive person and the place is wonderful. You can even hear the howling monkeys near the house if you're lucky. However, it's not well isolated from the outside and that makes it possible for creatures to enter the room at night, including some flying cockroach, which is quite annoying if you don't like it or have a light sleep. If you seal the holes at the top of the room, the location and attention can make the place much better than it is now.

A precious place, but quite filthy.

Very small motel. Only 2 cabins. Very simple but clean and very friendly people. No luxuries. It has 2 beds, wifi and fridge. Adequate breakfast. Very nice garden ideal for drinking beer at the end of the afternoon. 30m of sky river, 1.5h of black cane and corner of the old one. Need a car.

Simple and cheap, for one night.

We stopped here to rest for the  night before heading to Volcan Tenorio National Park and Rio Celeste. Eulises (the owner) treated us very courteously and was very helpful. The cabin rooms, beds and bathrooms were spotlessly clean, smelled fresh and were very comfortable. The screened windows allowed us to enjoy the sounds and smells of the rain falling in the forest around, while enjoying the cool breezes coming in all night, while keeping the bugs out.
The next morning Eulises and his lovely wife cooked and fed us an awesome complete breakfast of eggs, coffee, juice and fruit that really made the difference at the beautiful but somewhat rigorous Rio Celeste trail hiking.
We'll for sure come back to Nacientes the next time we come by the area.

Great Clean and comfortable stop on our way to Rio Celeste

It's perfect for a quiet couple's night. It's a cabin with a view of the jungle, all the comforts are there. Toilets and refrigerators with drinks. The owner is hospitable and the setting is very nice.
