Cavtat

We stayed with children in two different apartments over a prolonged period of time. Cavtat is beautiful, there are many beaches and it's lovely. Owners are friendly and super helpful when you ask for any help. We recommend the stay and experience without reservation.

Great Dalmatian Experience: Central location, beautiful views, food, museums, beaches

28 € a night (in September) with a balcony with a beautiful view, a room equipped with a refrigerator and everything necessary to make your breakfast facing the sea, a large shower, a very good bed, 2 steps from the sea and the village and a very friendly reception.

A wonderful view

Nice apartment, clean and beautiful balcony with fantastic view. 5 minute walk to the centre. Private parking. Price for value!Thanks Sandra for great time in your apartment, it was very, very nice. I hope will come back again.

Great apartment, great host

Fantastic holiday to Cavtat with the Tija apartments being the ideal base as it is a 5 minute walk from the harbour. Good size room, with a very comfortable bed and great shower. My partner and I were due to get picked up from the apartment at 1900 hrs on our last day to go back home, but the owners kindly let us use the room until the taxi collected us. Highly recommended 

Comfortable stay

We stayed in apartment 7 which was very dingy and the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen . You had to open the shower door to sit on the loo . 
Crockery chipped and only 2 knives . 
View lovely but not as good as the other apartments . 
The biggest issue however was Maro the landlord. I originally booked at a rate which I could cancel but then later changed to a rate which was £53 and that I couldn’t cancel . As expected the money was immediately taken from my account . On returning home I received a text from Maro saying I’d left without paying and he took a further £53 from my card . After explaining to him that I had changed reservation he wouldn’t accept it. He refused to refund my money I have today just received my refund with the help of booking.com which they’ve had to invoice him for . He even told them that he’d paid it and when they asked for proof he didn’t have any evidence. If you read some of the reviews on here they are very good but when there is a bad review it’s usually to do with his aggressive behaviour. I would avoid these apartments in case of similar issues

Dingy apartment with aggressive landlord

The view alone from our apartment which was No 2 could easily justify a premium price. It's simply stunning. Since our last visit this room has been refurbished and has been done very tastefully. It's all been done in a very contemporary style and is spotlessly clean. Really useful having the small kitchen to prepare breakfast but to do anything further would be such a waste as you have so many fabulous well priced restaurants on your doorstep. It is only 5 minutes into the centre but the return walk does mean a small part of walk is uphill which is quite steep.Maro and Alexandra are great hosts and always happy to assist. We took off to Bosnia half way through the holiday and Alexandra dropped us off to car hire at airport and wouldn't accept payment and Maro had tried to get the car hire company to drop off the car to the apartment so am surprised at comments made by previous guests as the response seems very out of character and not at all what we witnessed and we have stayed there a couple of times, Definitely recommend.

Apartments with the best view in Cavtat

Tija is superb. Room with a view to be sure. Sunsets every night are fantastic. Day views are an ever changing vista of waterbus and millionaire cruise ships combined with private yachts and a plethora of other vessels. Fantastic. Three different bays to choose from, one even with a true sandy beach if you care to look for it. Owner Maro and his good lady and also Marie who looks after the rooms are a delight. Air conditioning was great, as was the Wi-Fi. The resident kitten is also a great assets! Tip: Check the lunch menus round the harbour for best value and quality. Three course meal on the harbour for £12 each On every day until 5pm. Give it a try really soon. You will be glad you did. Newly renovated studio room with kitchen is best one. Number 2.

The room we were allocated (#3) shared the fantastic view with room #2, but lacked the modernisation of room #2. Toilet wobbly, for example, (but never mind!) as the view makes up for almost everything! That said, they have done a fantastic job on #2, which would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, the advertised outdoor BBQ and shared kitchen no longer exists, so that was a (minor) disappointment as we would have enjoyed a little home cooking too. Outside of that, the low flying aircraft was a minor inconvenience that everyone simply ignores. To make up for that, the airport is just 10 minutes away!

Fantastic views over the bustling marina

Don’t ruin your holiday and stay here, my five year old was bit on the back of the thigh by the Owners dog while holding on to adults hand, as he walked pass into the apartments.  The owners stood back and watched and did nothing. I have contacted the owners a Number of times and not evening a sorry or to ask if my wee boy was ok! Not nice people if you ask me. My wee boy was unable to enjoy his holidays and is now a fear of dogs.

Warning DO NOT BOOK

The owners of Tija 1 are lovely. Very helpful. We had the apartment on the top floor. It was fully equipped with everything you might need and very spacious. The view from the windows/balcony was fantastic. We were unable to sit outside on the balcony in the evenings due to the midges. It was okay for breakfast.
Cavtat is a beautiful place to stay and this apartment is so close to everything. There is a steep hill but it is perfectly manageable for most people.

Lovely Place to Stay

We were a little concerned when two 1 star reviews were posted on tripadviser just before we were due to stay.  In the event we couldn’t have had a better stay.  Tija 1 is situated just above the centre.  There is a steep hill but this is short and it took us less than 5 minutes to get to and from the main part of Cavtat.

The room did not have cooking facilities but came equipped with a fridge and eating and drinking utensils.  We were in Room 3 and Maro informed us the balcony had the best view in Cavtat.  We wouldn’t disagree as the view was sublime and better than anywhere else we visited in the town.  The adjoining room also had great views but it also had a small kitchen so would be ideal for those wanting to prepare simple meals.  The bathroom was spacious and had a hand held shower. 

The only negative was nothing to do with Tija 1, it was related to the loud music played one night in the centre of Cavtat which must have affected anyone staying in the immediate area.  Cavtat is a lovely place full of families, couples and a few passengers staying on the super yachts moored in the harbour so I’m not sure why the authorities thought loud thumping music would appeal to those type of visitors.

We found Maro and Alexandra to be friendly and Maro even gave us a lift to the airport when we left.  We did offer him money which he would not accept.  The apartment was excellent value for money and we would happily stay again if we returned to Cavtat.
