Motovun

Just at the foot of Motovun, the guest rooms are very comfortable and very clean. The ground floor room, independent of the rest of the house, has vineyards and olive groves. The owner is charming and has done everything to make her guests' stay pleasant.

Ricardo and Nena are the perfect hosts. Almost everything they can, they will arrange for you.The guesthouse is a very nice place to stay. The view from the terrace is beautiful. It's only 1 kilometer walk to the top of Motovun, which is a very nice walk. If you like biking, the Parenzana is a nice and easy route, which passes almost by the house. Breakfast is extra, just do it. You will be surprised. 
The rooms are clean en modern.

The place for Istria and Motovun!

My girlfriend and I came to Motovun hoping to spend one night in the old village up on the hill. But it was high season and everything was either booked out or too expensive
.
 Whilst prowling the streets of old Motovun searching for accommodation we came across a lovely woman working in her garden. We explained what we were after in signs and gestures because she spoke no English. Together with her husband and daughter, she made a few phone calls, finally telling us that a friend of hers who lives down in the new part of the village has the right room for the right price. This is how we met Ricardo. 

He was waiting for us outside his house as we drove in. After a quick introduction, he tells us he has no vacancies in the main house, where he and his wife live, but has a room in a nearby village. We followed him down there in his car. The room turned out to be a two story house, all to ourselves, Complete with parking, fully equipped kitchen and a lovely veranda on the second story. Needless to say, we changed our plans and decided to stay until the end of our visit.    

Ricardo definitely made the difference for us here. Such a lovely man. A born and bred local, he knows the ropes and speaks good English. He had good advice on where to go and when. He was super easy going and made us feel at home. 

To sum it up, The man is a legend. his accommodation is top notch. With that, must say that in my opinion, the house we stayed in is much better than the one room he showed us in his house, so check before you book. Also, if you're staying anywhere in this area apart from the old village of Motovun, wheels are a must. Enjoy!

A very nice time, 10 minutes from Motovun

My girlfriend and I came to Istria in Croatie for a week to relax and enjoy the weather, the beaches and the food. The hospitality of the hosts was amazing! We felt immediately at home. From day one they were thinking about things we could do or see in Istria, because they were worried that we would be bored. They were really extremely helpful, whatever we asked (even helping to replace my flat tire). 
We absolutely loved the breakfast! So delicious, and fresh from their garden! Every day they tried to do something special: truffle omelette, pancakes with Nutella...
Highly recommended!!!

Perfect place to stay when visiting Istria

Wife and I came for a couple of days akd immediately felt like home. Such nice and attentive host you can rarely find. They will offer you their hospitality and basically everything they have. Either all sorts of rakija, truffle omelette for breakfast, homemade prosciutto or veggies from their garden. Everything they have is either homegrown or homemade. In my opinion, they should market it much better, but it is how they live, they dont do it for the profit. That is hard to find these days and i think people would pay good money for that. Prices are very reasonable and it is very clean. Wife didn't have any complaints and if you knew her, you would know what i mean ;-)

Excellent from top to bottom

The first thing that fascinated us was the treatment of Ricardo and his wife. wonderful people. I couldn't describe their good deeds so that we were here in August. I highly recommend people who discover this family. and see it as a sound of good ones.
