We stayed with my family, and I wanted to stay for a long time. A very peaceful and natural environment. With lots of vegetation, private beach, good price and samana is super beautiful. If I wanted to go back but spend at least a week 1

We stayed with my family in very cozy villas, and I wish to stay for a long time.

When I went to this hotel with my class, at first glance, we thought it was great. But when we looked at the thing, we were disappointed because the windows didn't close, the water took time to get hot which is not practical for an educational trip. But the cherry on the cake, we found nests of animals and their excrement that went with it.

Beautiful on the outside, salty on the inside

Fully satisfied, lovely private beach. Loved the quiet, friendly, nice modern rooms, the food was very good and I felt at home not crowded at all, reasonable price. I would stY again and recommend to friends. Low key Italian owner was pleasant and no one bothers you there and i had no problems. 

Loved it 

This was booked for us by a travel agent.  The photos bore no resemblance to what we found.  The agent telephoned to see how far from Samana centre the hotel was and was told 10 minutes.  Yes if you have a jet but in reality it was nearer 30 minutes in a local taxi.  Reception was deserted when we arrived and I had to go looking for someone.  Eventually a maid sought out the manager.  The room was dull, the flyscreens broken and missing, We reported the broken lights but it seemed a huge problem to get replacement bulbs, in fact they never appeared.  There were no drinks or snacks at the poolside bar nor the private beach bar in fact no service there at all.  The toilet block at the swimming pool was derelict with all the sanitary ware broken and with open drains - it was disgusting and a health hazard.  Dogs, including the manager's rotweiler, barked and howled throughout the night.  Men with rifles patrolled the grounds at night which was nervewracking.  The breakfast was nothing to write home about although the waitress was lovely.  The breakfast options appeared to depend on the number of guests - on two mornings we were alone in a vast dining room.  The promised wifi did not exist.

Not recommended in the least

We arrived at Samana at 4 pm looking for a hotel that had an adequate quality price ratio and after turning all the beetles we found disguised as a hotel we ran into the drum that was 3000 pesos a room at night and looking at the time at 6 pm convinced us to stay. In the whole facility that needs some small renovation there was just me and my girlfriend. The resort is very large as are the rooms and bathrooms the outdoor patio from the large garden while breakfast included is in the huge central cabin that serves as a restaurant the manager who kindly welcomed us prepared a great breakfast based on egg juice coffee marma and milk.

Quality ratio and price.

Lots of mosquitoes, screens were broken, the bathroom window was broken could not close it. No water in the morning.. No Water!! Very disappointed. Spoke with the manager for discount, he did not care!!

Very disappointed

We were in La Tambora in March 2013: two couples now with the possibility of leaving their children at home alone, now grown up, and I have to say we would never return home. The place was beautiful, the people were very welcoming and sunny, and it was very important to visit with expert guides in the various charming corners of the peninsula: Cayo Levantado, Las Terrenas, Las Galeras, Rincon with the characteristic Rio Frio. In each beach we had lunch with freshly caught fish and other Dominic specialities. It was very rich to know the culture, customs and traditions, the philosophy of living of the Dominican chapel. The chapel is very welcoming and the beach is exclusive to the people who live in the waves and the attractions of the city.

What a wonderful life!

A place outside of the traditional quiet air fresco an extraordinary atmosphere to spend with family its pools the green area and its small beach make it exceptional only that as its villas and fled during the days of the week we made a small purchase to prepare our breakfast while having lunch in the city and the same with dinner but the place is beautiful.

Excellent place to stay.

My husband and i were pleasantly surprised by the value of this small property. It is all-inclusive, but not at the level of an international chain. In fact, we enjoyed the local flavor and the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Rooms are of various sizes and layouts and we had a sense that a refurbishment is underway.  The grounds were lush and beautiful; the trees full of birds. The beach is small and the surf a bit rough but the pool area is lovely: one large pool, another smaller with waterfall & in-water lounges, and a kids pool. Food was plentiful and was buffet when there were a lot of guests and a la carte otherwise. Domestic drinks were also included. We would recommend for the value, especially for those with their own car.

Warmth and value

Well, I stayed here for a work trip last week. We were going to travel to Samana and its vicinities so it was somewhat convenient. Keep in mind that this hotel is on the way to Las Galeras so if you plan to go to Samana, you'll need a ride. Rooms are clean, and spacious. Beds are a little too stiff for my taste. At least on the room I had, which was on building A. You have to hike up a pretty steep hill to get there - so if you have knee issues you might want another building. Food is...well, food. Nothing particularly special and quite repetitive. They do have access to a patch of beach that looks nice. This is at most a place to crash if you get a good deal. I'm pretty sure you can do better.
