It's not the center of town. It's generally quiet, for those looking for peace and quiet sleep. The dorm door closes with a code (meaning you won't be able to lose your card and deposit).

Regular hostel

Clean and upgraded version of hostel. This place offers both shared space with private sleep areas and small private rooms. All with shared bathrooms.

I had a private room (n. 2). It was not much more than 2 chairs, table and beds. Nyt it was clean, quiet and acctually it also had a nice view. The place had rather nice linen and a soft bed.

Other guests seem to be business travelers working with their laptops at shared areas. Overall a ok experience. Good, quiet, relaxed and a safe environment -much appreciated. Would use again.

Bed for a night

The hotel is very stylish, beautiful, clean, the girl at the reception is welcoming, they communicate in English. Wi-fi catches well, but many social networks have no access. In the kitchen there is everything to store and prepare food. On the 1st floor of the building there is a shop with everything necessary. The area is quiet, the tram stops are very close, the metro is also relatively close.

It's a great hostel.

Seeing that Helsinki was my first stop in my Europe trip, I wanted some peace and quiet and some solitude. If you're looking for that, this is perfect.

If you take the Finnair City Bus from the Airport to the Central Railway Station, you'll see this building on the way. It is beside a supermarket which makes buying food and other supplies (soap, shampoos, toothpaste) very convenient.

However, one downside is that the hostel is not a very social one, and people who are looking to make new friends will find this place quite dull. It probably is my choice, though, seeing as I'm outside half the time and in my alcove the other half. The people in the common room don't seem to socialize very much, but again, that is okay with me.

The beds are clean, towel's provided and the bathrooms are pretty good. I never used the kitchen so I cannot comment on that, but overall I would stay here again. The bus stops are very nearby (so are the tram stops) and it gives you privacy with the curtains.

Nice quiet place

Myself and a friend stayed here during Flow Festival and I chose this hostel as it was walking distance to the festival and very cheap. It is not in the city centre and its takes about 20mins on a tram to get to the centre. It is very close to Kallio where there are plenty of bars 

Fro check in and booking I received an email from the hostel with my room number and key code, we arrived very late at night and absolutely no problems 

We had our own private room it was very small but for the purpose of our trip it was perfectly fine, all we wanted a bed for the night and this fit the bill. Free wifi that was super fast. We had shared bathroom/shower facilities and they were clean and well maintained. The kitchen which was also communal was ideal and included dishwashers for "that one" resident who doesn’t know how to clean up after themselves.......... 

On our last day we had an evening flight and when we asked could we stay an extra couple of hours the lovely girl on reception extended our door codes until we had to leave for the airport at no extra cost.

Overall it was a pleasant stay I would recommend the hostel as a place to stay for a short visit. but please remember it is a hostel not a 5 star hotel. Helsinki is not a cheap city so if you can save on accommodation then that for me is a bonus....

Cheap and Cheerful

So, if you make a booking, via websites like all of us do, wait and see if you will get a confirmation from them directly. First of all, the check-in it is only at 4pm, which is unusual, then you get there to find out that you do not have the door codes and the reception, which was supposed to be open at 3pm was closed. Therefore, nobody could check the bookings made. I got there at 4.15 to find 4 other people standing outside, calling their customer service. I did the same only to be told by a very rude woman who told me that I could not have possibly paid the full amount of my stay, and since I had not received a confirmation from them I had no booking, no room. She said that there wouldn't be any staff there to help and that the hostel was fully booked! Not to mention the cleaning staff inside being so so rude with everybody that was there full of luggage waiting! Thanks to Hotels.com, which processed my booking, after 2 hours on the phone, I could be relocated, paying extra, to get another place. Even they tried to call the hostel without an answer! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Vuokrahuone is an excellent hostel consept. If you are staying for 30 days or more, the price is only 11 euros per night in a shared alcove, which is a really good price in Helsinki! There are good tram and bus connections just outside the front door, and the bus stop for the airport bus 615 is just a couple of minutes away as well.

There is a metal locker next to your bed, just bring a padlock or buy one from the vending machine. I have never needed to queue to the toilet or the shower, so there are enough of those available. You don't need to worry about carrying a door key with you, as all doors work with a personal door code. You can use a washer and a dryer in the total price of 4 euros per load, and there is enough room in the fridge for your food. Clean sheets and a towel are included in the dorm price, and you will get new ones every two weeks. Also wifi is included, or if you want a faster connection, you can get it for 10 euros per month.

There is nothing else you could ask from such cheap shared accommodation!

The cheapest accommodation in Helsinki

We stayed for 1 night in a room for two, there was a separate room with two beds. When we booked, only a room with two beds was available. When we booked, we made an application asking if possible to settle us in a room with two beds, which we got))) The room is small - a passageway between the beds of 20 centimeters, there is also a table, 2 chairs, a refrigerator, a closet, generally not to be unfolded)))) Resettlement from 4:00, we arrived earlier, the hostel employee took out our code, forgetting that it was the same from our future room, naming only her room and not telling us that one is working there until 19:00.

It's probably lucky, but there were very few people. Even though the site sells a separate room with two beds, it's actually part of a large room for 20 people. But when we were living there with us, there were two more people and everything.
