Rukan Salonki is a very beautiful picture perfect place, a true winter wonderland. 
Our group of 10 stayed a week in Chalet number 6. 
This chalet is centrally located, well equipped, cosy and warm (although the weather was very cold - at some times minus 26 degrees C). We particularly enjoyed the in-house sauna, the comfortable beds, the fireplace, the decoration and privacy of the chalet, as well as the marvellous views from the windows. We even saw the stunning Northern lights from the chalet!
The Finnish foods in the 2 restaurants are excellent and the CEO Marjo and her staff are always trying to make things comfortable for the guests. 
The private sauna session in the traditional Finnish smoke sauna with outdoor hot tub was an exciting and at the same time relaxing experience.

From Rukan Salonki the nearby lively Ruka ski resort can easily be reached by bus or taxi.

We certainly recommend Rukan Salonki Chalets! 

Great place near Ruka

We have been charged 3,500€ for smoking at the door of the terrace and on top of that they tell us when we are already at the airport, leaving us in stock and afraid that we will not be able to return to our country if we do not pay.

I stayed this Christmas in the cabin 12 which is fabulous.The place is spectacular.Absolutely recommended.The food service is not very varied but everything was very good.I definitely recommend this accommodation.

Rukan Salonki Chalets are located only 20mn by taxi from Kuusamo Airport.
The chalet are wonderful. The architecture, the genuine design all in wood and stones, and the decoration are very fine.
We were staying in Chalet #13 which has 6 rooms for 2, a nice and large living room, a small kitchen and very nice sauna.
The food for breakfast and evening dinner are very good and local. The team is great and pays attention everyday to make sure you are happy. There is sledge run in front of the restaurant where our kids spent an hour after each meal...
So the whole family loved this journey at Rukan Salonki Chalets!

Amazing experience in Lapland

Very nice cottage with loungers. Fireplace, sauna and kitchen equipped. Perfect cleanliness. Bathrooms in very small rooms which is a bit embarrassing if you rent to several. Very proper half-board with very good breakfast buffet. Perfect location, quiet out of town near the ski slopes.

We stayed here as a group of 14 in two chalets (11 & 12) and really, really enjoyed the resort.  We used it as a base for lots of activities - snow-mobiles, husky sleds, reindeer farm and even skiing (the ski resort is a couple of kilometres away and so beginner friendly).  We spent evenings in our chalets which were well equipped - integral sauna, log fire, underfloor heating, good kitchen/diner etc etc.

The resort is spread over many acres and walking from our chalet to the restaurant was fun as we had to go past the toboggan hill which most of us could not resist !  The xc ski network passes right by and through the resort linking it to the town and ski centre.

Breakfast was buffet style and although it came close to running a bit low on some foods on a couple of days in truth there was always enough food even for the hungriest of guests !  The staff were super friendly and helpful and a credit to the resort.

There is an ice bar linked to the restaurant but when we visited (18-24 Feb 19) it was closed so with the permission and help from staff we opened it ourselves and had our own champagne and wine party !

We would recommend this resort as a perfect base for visiting this part of Finland.

Wonderful Winter Wonderland !

My family of 4 stayed in Ruka chalet 1. Groundfloor has 2 rooms (one with twin beds; one with single bed). It has a loft with 2 single beds and extra mattress.  While it fits a family of 4-5, it only has one bathroom with sauna and only shampoo is provided. Bodywash is an added cost.  The tv has only finish channels and the beds were really tiny; it’s hard to toss about even at my small frame of 5’. It has a kitchen complete with appliances, kitchen and dining supplies, a dining table, Fireplace, sofa and washing machine in finnish characters. 
While our chalet has all the amenities and nicely decoratec,  i am quite surprised that they have an extra charge for bed linens, pillowcase  and towels as well apart from the cost of accomodation.  I requested for extra pillows and they sent us two with no pillowcase we ended up not using as we find it unsanitary.  Daily housekeeping is an added cost. There were garbage bins a few meters away in case we needed to unload the pile of garbage we accumulated for a week’s stay. Not complaining much tho as we had a relaxing time and it was so peaceful and quiet and everything covered in snow. It’s just that it was not the luxury chalet that i expected, but more like an air b&b. 
Breakfast spread was good,but had the same food the entire week. 
All the resort’s staff were very accomodating and friendly. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay. 


Relaxing Atmosphere but

The perfect place to meet and enjoy Lapland, amazing scenery, the cabin that in our case was for 11 impressive people, with proximity to the ski resort and activities like snowmobiles, etc.

It is excellent.

The complex is of story, spectacular chalets, an unbeatable setting, and a short walk from Luka's Sky Station. A cozy, family-friendly restaurant, little variety in dishes for our customs but of good quality. The huge, well-equipped, clean and comfortable chalets. I just see the need to upgrade the bathrooms and get a second shower to the small bathroom. I stayed in the chalet RukanSalonky3 and the unbeatable location. A very pleasant stay. The staff of the complex is always very friendly.

The site is spectacular.

We planned a trip to Rukan Salonki for the Smoke Sauna experience. We were a group of 7 and the evening was lovely. We arrived and the sauna house was all set up for us, including some snacks and drinks. We were able to use the sauna, the Jacuzzi, and the ice bathing area for over 2 hours. The facility was comfortable, and the shower area well equipped. I was very impressed with the experience and the rest of our group said it was the highlight of the trip.
