We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It is at a wonderful location and used to be a really nice place.

Unfortunately this time our experience was different. The reception staff was not very welcoming as we came, but began to question my comments and started to give advice that I did not need or ask for. The next morning the reception staff (different person) told us three times how many minutes there is before the breakfast starts - and the chef for the fourth time. We were just there readily waiting, because our schedule was rather tight.

The breakfast was very simple, and some of the veggies etc. came to the table only bit by bit after the starting time. The "scrambled eggs" was grey, strangely reminded of some kind of small grains and was not hot. Bread was good.

The room had a nice balcony, but lousy furniture to enjoy it. The room itself was fine, but the bathroom was very outdated, badly cleaned and the ventilation system was full of mold or something - I did not want to look closer.

The location is great, as said, and the vibe otherwise. However, there are much better options available in the Nauvo center and more wider on the island.

Not the same as before

Location is great and the vibe is nice. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately the floor and beds in the room were covered in dust and dog hair. The shower was covered with mold. The room was also missing proper airconditioning, which made it really hard to sleep at night. Breakfast was average, no vegetarian or vegan options available. The hotel is overall really outdated and is in a need of some upgrading. We expected a little bit more for the price we paid.

Nice location and cozy vibe

The hotel is located very well, it's very central. Our rooms was very basic, basically only beds, one chair and a small table. Would be very nice to have at least hangers for the coats and bedside tables.
The breakfast was ok, but the breakfast room was very small, and was packed with people, so it was rather uncomfortable during pandemic.

Rather basic hotel in wonderful location

Nice location with a nice view, staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Everything else was horrible: our room was very dirty and toilet was mildew. We are not coming back this hotel (motel). Prize per night 130€ and room was straight from a horror movie. 

Not good :(

Lovely, cosy hotel in Nauvo harbour, silent and clean rooms, too little air condition during hot summernights but otherwise highly recommended. Really helpful and positive staff. Excellent restaurant Strandkrogen downstairs: breakfast and delicious à la carte menues served by really nice staff! Big outdoor terrace is lovely place to enjoy summerdays and eves just in front of the busy harbour area. Warm recommendation for this compact accomondation and restaurant!

Excellent accomondation

The location and surroundings of Strandbo are still excellent, with Nauvo having developed into a vibrant summer-environment with great restaurants and service. Hotel Strandbo, however, has unfortunately not stayed with the development. The room was worn-down and the bathroom somewhat dirty. The hallways were marked by stained carpets. The breakfast was average for any basic hotel but carried absolutely no local charm or influence like many archipelago b&b´s tend to do. For the price, it was unfortunately a very disappointing experience.

Badly in need of a facelift

Friendly and relaxed hotel in archipelago. Excellent meals and a hearty buffet for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return here. Found rooms on a short notice. Nauvo is also lovely, busy enough but still very peaceful. 

Midsummer in Nauvo

Hotel Strandbo is a hotel that is separated into couple of buildings. In the main building there is the office and the restaurant. 

In the other buildings there are hotelrooms. We had ours upstairs, with small french balcony. The days temperatures were close +18 at night +10. Inside it was warm. We had asked for extra bed for child and it was in our room when we arrived. 

We liked very much of the hotel. The service was good, and the hotel itself was cute and nicely kept and clean.

Very pretty and well kept hotel in convenient location

We stayed here because it was convenient on our way to our cabin on the islands. It is bang opposite the connecting vessel dock which took us further on our journey. We also went because Nauvo/Nagu is such a lovely place. 
It's true the receptionist was a bit dopey and sent us to the part of the hotel to start with, but the manageress immediately made up for this by offering us a glass of bubbles. The room was a bit spartan and cold given the poor weather this summer, but it was OK. We had dinner there which was very nice and the breakfast was fine too.

A bit spartan, but OK

I recommend going for brunch. It is 18 euros and although the buffet is not so large the different dishes are well made, home made like the meatballs. It gives a great value for money meal with coffee and a good start of a sunday which keeps you full for a long time. The kids menu is also good and quite affordable. Best thing is the attitude of the staff. You are greated immediately when you step through the door and they are flexible and very kind. Quite rare for Finland and very appreciated.
