Holiday Club Salla Superior Apartments

Salla

Very cool and affordable apartments in perfect location! We stayed here for 5 nights on New Year's Eve and paid a total of only 150 euros per person for the Superior apartments. There was a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with sauna. Ski slope right next door and the Salla Wilderness Park is only 5 minutes away by car. We also tested the hotel spa, it was nice, but the water could be a little warmer.

Affordable fully equipped apartments in perfect condition

We spent 5 nights in the 2 beds Apartment (D8) as part of an RCI points exchange with Shell Vacation.
The apt are quite dated (built in the '80s and not renovated at all. On the other side they are equipped with everything you need to spend a great winter holidays in Lapland.
Sauna, hot tube, floor and electric heating, open fireplace, all bedroom are en suite (very small though), dish-washer, washing machine, patio with chairs.
You need a car to enjoy the surroundings. Salla town is 10km away with plenty restaurants, supermarket and other attractions. 
Slopes, tourist info, bike, e-bike, cross country traiks are all 5 min drivining from the apartment. Plenty of activities to chose from and local Fins are extremely polite, welcoming and friendly. 

Great Location. Apts should be refurbished

The hotel is within walking distance of an alpine ski resort.The rooms are functional and the food in the restaurant is good.We found everything especially expensive, but it's a matter of all the services you'll find in Finland.You have a spa, swimming pool and sauna available.A good option to spend a few days skiing and discovering the pony.

Experience in the Ponia

We had a two-bedroom aparment in a two storey house next to the main hotel. It had pretty much everything an aparement needs to have, easily a place you could live in permanently. Building looked like new, everything was very clean and worked well. There was even a designated parking spot for everyone. Only downside was that ventilation carries voices from downstairs to your aparment, specially to kitchen/living room area. Not always funny to listen what your neighbors do.  Can still recommend this place

Good aparment lodging

We were in the building for the third time. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't house 14 or 15 with big windows and beautiful views, but house 3C. A lot of trouble, that is, a lot of children, a lot of dogs, a lot of loud snow scooters. There was a small fireplace and as much wood as you wanted - at minus 28 degrees a pleasure! The house was supposed to be for 6 people, but we thought it was small in size and equipment. The slit doors with reindeer or huskies were very attractive in price!

We found the kitchen very good with all the finish tableware and knifes.
The location is great, as we could start with the skies in front of the appartment.
Only the appliances where too loud (washer, dryer and dishwasher) which made us use them mostly when gone. A bit disappointing also the fact, that they asked 16 Euro for the Spa which is part of the hotel. 16 per person a day is simply not justified. Particularly not, when the spa is adverticed in the booklet in the appartment.

Good location, good kitchen, loud appliances, requires a bit of an update

Peaceful compact cottage made of big pine logs, next to the downhill slopes and near to ski trails,  wandering routes and ski shop / equipment rent. Good scenery. Everything necessary available, except for the washing machine for clothes. Nice sauna.

We had reserved a log cabin with two bedrooms on February in Salla. We spent 110 000 points for this week which is a lot. The cabin was very modest and dated - not worth that much points. The refrigerator was at the floor so you had to squat to be able to crab something from the fridge. One of the locker of the fridge had been repaired with tape. The other bedroom was at the balcony and you had to climb there with steep stairs.

I dont’t understand that this kind of cabin demands 110000 points with RCI. That is very greedy and Holiday Club should change their policy of points used for lodging.


Modest log cabin, not worth the points

The Salla cabin was great. Just steps off the ski slopes, and lots of hiking trails, even during the middle of winter. It was great to have the restaurant Kelo Ravintola just at the bottom of the hill, and so many winter activities within a 10-minute walk.

Great winter vacation in the Lapland

We had two twin bed room. It was on the ground floor. It was small and dated, but clean. No sauna in the room, which we did have at other hotels in Finland. It was very close to the Salla ski resort and about 10 minutes from Salla Reindeer Park. About 15 minutes from "downtown" Salla and 30 minutes from the Russian border. The restaurant was surprisingly good. Excellent breakfast buffet.
