We had a cosy room with 2 seperate beds. It's an old house. Bathroom is old but everything you need is there. Breakfast is great and some items are home-made. The owners are very talkative! So relax and take your time. They are very friendly. I think if you call beforehand they can make dinner as well. We didn't so we ate at a gas station 2 minutes walk away.

Beautiful old house

I want to be late to admire the Jokelan Kartano villa and its hospitable hostess. Unfortunately, our stay was not long, but only remembered from the best side. It is not a hotel in the general sense of the word, but a house in which the hostess lives and rents out some of the rooms to the guests. So furniture, interiors, etc. - you feel like you are staying with your beloved Finnish grandmother!

Like a mother's grandmother

It's conveniently located on the highway, and the bathroom, and the shops, and the nature. It's a very nice, friendly hostess. Yes, the toilets aren't in all the rooms, but it's pre-arranged.

Wonderful old-fashioned manor in the nice place with large territory. Everything went smoothly: BBQ-dinner at the riverside, sauna in the evening and yummy breakfast with homemade yogurt with berries. What else do we need for a weekend? Thank you, Raila, and all the best!

Super!

I went to Hammelin for a competition and stayed two nights in this wonderful place:) Very atmospheric mansion! You seem to have fallen into the past, but with all the comforts! Old carved furniture, very bright veranda. Nice and responsive hostess. Quiet place, if you go down the road, there will be a dam and a bridge, walking with pleasure! From the downsides. You have to understand that the toilet is common on the floor. Like shower and sauna.

Time travel!

A good-natured hostess feeds a great breakfast and warms up the sauna. If you want to swim, there's a great swimming pool. There's a supermarket.

A nice place on the countryside of Finland.with excellent staff and service. House is nice, rooms are clean and the hostility is excellent and prizes are very good.

I will be back in Finland for some days in July - August and I know where I will stay during my journey.

Staying over from 22.06 to 24.06 14.

When we were going to spend the weekend in this hotel, we didn't know what kind of welcoming reception awaited us! It felt like we had visited guests at the family's house. The hotel was very easy to find, the indicator is right on the Lahti-Hameenlinna road. Now I really want to go there in the summer, next to the river where you can swim, on the shore there is your own sauna. The old farmhouse is very cozy, there is everything you need - sauna, a small kitchen area with microwave, refrigerator and tea-coffee, the room was spacious and comfortable. It was very nice to be in a bright room with a view of the garden, under the sounds of jazz, when the housewife, the hostess, pleased us with her varied cooking, and yogurt, and we will be welcoming you again tomorrow!

A mansion with a good heart

I loved the place. Stayed there for three nights during a sunny, late-May weekend, one of those very warm and happy weekends when you have a chance to get away from the daily stress. Jokelan in Hämeenkoski is a perfect base for exploring Häme and Lahti regions. Hämeenkoski is surrounded by a great number of places of interests, such as Hämeenlinna, Lammi, Asikkala, Hollola and Lahti, and of natural beauty, for which you simply need to have your eyes wide open. The Finnish countryside is lovely in summer and absolutely worth visiting and spending some days to explore. The Jokelan manor house is well run and taken care of, although certain small things may still need some repair, which the hosts readily admit. The house has it all what a leisure traveller may need. At least it fully met my expectations for tranquillity and comfort. The rooms, different in sizes, may seem somewhat basic and most of them don’t have bathrooms. This would otherwise have bothered me, but since I was the only guest staying at Jokelan overnight, I had half of the upper floor just to myself. The hosts, Raila and Pentti, are very open-minded and sincere people, working hard to maintain the property and entertain the guests of which they sometimes have forty or fifty people hiring Jokelan to celebrate family events during the day. There were exactly two of such day events during the weekend I stayed at Jokelan, and every time I returned “home” from exploring this beautiful region, no trace of party mess was to be found, the house stood clean and fresh, surrounded by blossoming apple trees.

Lovely weekend far away from city stress

If you've just left Helsinki and you're planning to head to the north why not stop at this comfortable place in Hameenkoski, just a few minutes from the city of Lahti? I've spent some nice days at Jokelan Kartano with my girlfriend and we were "cuddled" and taken care of by the owner Raila, a very hospitable lady with a great sense of humour, and her husband. The rooms are warm and cozy and so is the sauna,for those who are willing to stand the heat! There's also a supermarket nearby if you want to fix yourself something to eat and facilities to make your own coffee and tea are available too. If you've never been there, it's well worth a try, trust me.
