Beautiful castle clean room and well-arranged host very friendly breakfast full and very cozy in a beautiful small room with a view of the park and a rate that should serve as a model for some hotels (€7 near the Charles de Gaulle memorial Patrice M

the life of Chateau

We had booked 3 nights via Airbnb for one of the owners of the castle. We should know that this is a former hotel that has become private property sold in lots (room by room) by a Danish company (which is actually a couple and owns the common parts in addition to their own room). The other room owners (often a 1 room owner) have access to the common parts (a priori) but do not co-own them. In short, we rented a former hotel from a room owner and we had to have access to the common parts. We should know that we were allowed to walk around the castle (truly to enjoy the common parts of the castle in addition to their own room!) but we probably found that we could not have travelled to the hotel without having seen our owners in spite of the fact that the kitchen was not in our dream (but was not planned) but we were not able to check out a very nice hotel in Spain.

It's a great place, but no service.

This chateau has the good fortune to be maintained in a costly manner... Our room was small but nice and warm, and we were very pleased to see the original wooden floors and the old furniture. The spaces available for every guest are really impressive, so there are several smaller reading rooms, libraries, etc. on the ground floor where you can comfortably spend the evening with a glass of wine, whether alone, with his companion or with other interesting guests. Even the kitchen you use and then in the hard-to-reach dining room. Whoever is interested should not let himself escape the family tree from which the chateau comes.

I'm staying at the castle.

I booked four rooms for one night stay for eight people way back in February only to be informed today , when we are due to stay there on Saturday week that they are cancelling, due to over booking, very distressing at this late date to find a good alternative.

Beautiful frame, our one-and-a-half-year-old son loved walking around a real big castle, and so did we. Super nice lunch, super nice garden, big stone stairs and authentic big lounges. The castle edges are nice too, and it's all very well located for a stop on the vacation road. All at a very competitive price.

The great castle life at a low price

What a wonderful discovery!!! A real and gorgeous castle accessible in a wheelchair... Waouw and yet I had a real apprehension when I booked.. But on the spot an immediate relief; the whole castle is accessible (as well as the sanitary visitors), a spacious and dignified room with such an environment, a generous breakfast and a correct price. And what about this beautiful place just gorgeous (well hey love the old one!!!!, it's not an Ikea hehee hotel) The very friendly welcome of the owner and especially the kindness of Madame WAGNER in the morning.

We were greeted as friends by a very nice village lady and the owner who comes from California. We dream of America and the Americans dream of our castles.... Our suite had a bedroom, a small kitchen, a living room (in the pigeonhouse) two bathrooms and two toilets, a simple and clean park or a huge tulip tree reign. It would be the first imported from the US.

A real castle

We stopped there on our way to Corse (Corsica). It was late in the afternoon (around 7) and we called the owner to check if there was any availability. The owner is an American who is restoring the castle and to provide more rooms to stay over. He was a bit grumpy, but we got a nice room in the castle. Breakfast is served around 8h30 / 9h00 by a lady from the village (is separate from the room). Just behind the castle, there is a beautiful golf course.

I had booked a room Chambre d'hotes but arrived in front of the open gate from which you can access the castle park no reference to the structure. For a moment I think I have the wrong address. There is no one. I entered the castle to signal our arrival, masking a certain uneasiness. I found myself spinning between immense rooms furnished with luxurious rooms, and elegant lounges, summer hunting lodges, a unique retreat and accessories available on the site of the castle.

It's a wonderful experience.

This hotel is about ten miles from the A5 Autoroute and south of Chaumont. It was chosen by us as a stopover on our way to the Italy. When we arrived at the Chateau  Hotel it was  cold and deserted.  No sign of life. The front door was open but there was no sign of anyone

We had a good old wander about but no humans in sight.It was impossible to check / book in. Here we were in a small deserted town in the dark. We were tired after a long drive with a confirmed booking but nowhere else to stay. We made enquiries in the town but nobody knew anything about the Chateau Hotel. After about an 
hour it was beginning to feel like a scene from a Hitchcock film
As we were about to leave to look for somewhere  else to stay a dippy lady arrived full of apology with a bottle of wineShe could sense that we were agitated. To relax us she poured us a glass from the wine bottle she was carrying.

We stayed in room 224 which was very nice. It had a mezzanine floor. There was a seating area below with an adjoining bathroom.  There was no television nor radio.  The bedroom was on the mezzanine floor. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed but the hot water was not very hot. 
Generally the place is very grand. A very tall window overlooked a forest. It was difficult to close the curtains to provide for privacy.  The room wifi worked very well. No courtesy tray in the bedroom

There are lavishly appointed public areas. A Television Room, a Games Room, a Library,and several Lounge type rooms. The dining Room has high ceilings with crystal chandeliers and massive oil  paintings/ works of art on the walls

Interestingly there is a Lounge Bar but it is not licenced so the drinks are for free

Breakfast was an extra €6 each which we paid direct to the Caretaker. It was a Continental cold breakfast which was adequate and worth it.

We just could not get a handle on this place. Most enjoyable but quaint.

Despite the original wait before we could check in, I would be happy to stay here again and recommend the place to others
