I join the previous comment because I also got married in this Castle in July 2014. The frame is beautiful but the benefits are not at the level. Unless you ask the conditions and you follow it yourself or you do it yourself... Basically, all the benefits are provided by the owner who is charming but can sometimes exceed (stupid, household, security, installation...), even with all his good will... The place at the top and near Bordeaux, so I recommend it, but negotiate all this in price, your security service if you want, your housekeeper (obligatory for one room, room and everything else) as well as coming two or three days before cleaning and checking in once in a while... I have a beautiful and beautiful picture and I still remember Ayl in a perfectly good marriage setting and all the rest.

Top frame under conditions

We had reserved the room and all the rooms of the castle for a wedding. On our previous visits, the caterer did not want to use the toilets of the kitchen were quite courteous and the whole room was in good condition. When we took possession of the premises, they were very dirty (the rooms, kitchen and toilets had not been cleaned for a long time, especially when the rental price was low, he could have asked a cleaning company to repair them himself; for the anecdote, the caterer did not want to use the toilets of the kitchen were so dirty).

A beautiful setting for a wedding, unqualified quality of service and service

Some of the criticism on this site didn't seem to be justified at all and even made me hesitate at the time in choosing this place. However, after visiting several sites, we went to see the Château du Pian a year ago and the owner welcomed us very well. We rented the room on Saturday 14 June 2014 and the next day (brunch) for our wedding and I have to say that the owner was charming, discreet and more than correct with us. He totally let us appropriate the place, without ever intervening when there were still 160 people in the Château du Pian about forty children. We felt like we were staying at the castle for a week.

A lavish place for a wedding... or a night.

At first glance, the inside is most attractive. The outside ...weed-b-gon and wasp/hornet killer needed. The breakfast was good. The dog needs a bath. The owner needs an attitude adjustment...BIG TIME! All and all, this chateau has the makings to be a top notch place. The management needs to go!!

Not the bees knees!

We are touring France every two years hopping from chateau to chateau.
The chateau du Pian is unfortunately the worse chateau were we spent two night over more than 40 chateaux we have stayed so far.
The owner is not friendly and rather condescending.
The room need to be cleaner , the first night the electric toilet  did not function .
There are so many places to stay in Bordeaux area, why staying in a place relatively expensive for what they are offering

Nice chateau but unfortunately need update and cleanliness

We got married there in August 2013 and had a magical time there. The owner was very charming and caring to our guests as well as ourselves. We were able to enjoy a beautiful setting outside for the cocktail. The dinner was in the large room (with a little over 170 guests), we are afraid that it is too big and impersonal... it turned out to be extremely chic with a simple lighting offered by our DJ and flower tables.

We rented the room for a gala evening at the end of our congress. Very welcome from the owners and who were available for questions regarding the organization of our event.

The chateau itself is a precious property, in a beautiful location surrounded by beautiful gardens.The rooms must be modernized, preserving the style but more contemporary, I suppose that with a little less ornamentation they will be more spacious and pleasant.

 Regular

In great need of an update and some interest in the cleanliness and atmosphere. Unlike mnay Chateau's, the only common area was the breakfast dining room. No real greeting, or even a drink on arrival on a hot summers day. No appearance of the charms of yester year. Just old furniture ( yes some nice enough antiques) that you get to see in your own room and  the office. Rickety chairs, smelly, dusty, cobwebs and with all woodowrk needing a coat of paint. Windows could not be opened , so no air in hot summer weather. 
Breakfast , not worth the 17E when you consier there was no cooked aspect at all, but a bare continiental.
The expereince has put us off Chateau's forever despite an earlier much better experience, I think a nice 4 or 5 ** htel will serve you better for a far fairer price.

Smelly, dirty and wholly inadequate

My husband and I chose this Chateau because of it's suburban location, wishing to be near but not right in the centre of Bordeaux town. The building was very attentively restored around 20 years ago by the present owners and offers unique, spacious accommodation with pleasant grounds. The decor, while once certaily extremely elegant, is now ever so slightly dated, the carpets slightly tatty. I cannot vouch for other suites, but our room had 2 windows / aspects, with lovely views over the garden. The bed was large but rather hard for my taste, likewise the pillows. The bathroom was a good size, but had a rather dated pale blue suite and had only been superficially cleaned (suspicious 'bits' on the floor!). However, the owner was very pleasant, spoke excellent English and was most welcoming. A little expensive, but overall enjoyable to be in such an historic building.
