After searching in vain for a guest room, we searched for a hotel and came across... this guest room! First good surprise!-) Arriving there, we were able to appreciate the environment, the house and finally its owner. We could not have dreamed better, in every way! The cleanliness is impeccable, the calm and the quality of the services as well (rooms by room, wifi, etc., even though we personally did not stay long enough to enjoy it...) And to finish the marbled yogurt and cakes! I recommend without reservation:o)

What a surprise.

We had a wonderful stay in the Fuge, where we were discovered by chance during a trip to Cosne/Loire. The room was huge, as well as the bathroom, and furnished with taste. The reception was warm and the breakfast was generous. The only problem was not to forget the navigator Tom-Tom to find this hidden wonder!

Very nice surprise in a lovely cottage

Perfect home for the owners. Very spacious, well decorated and clean room. Possibility to go to the relaxation area. This intimate place, and vase; I recommend. My only remark, the price of the room is a bit expensive.

Relaxation Assured

We spent a night there at 4:00 in a beautiful room with a relaxing setting for a reasonable price. The owners are very welcoming and warm. Breakfast was plenty and balanced.

What a beautiful house!

The garden, the living room, the bedroom, everything is fine The place is very quiet For a romantic stay it is the place a little lost but that is what makes the charm recommend without hesitation

It's great.

The house, built almost entirely of wood, is in an isolated position, so very quiet and quiet, but at the same time it is a few minutes' drive from Sancerre. Surrounded by a well-kept garden, it is equipped with every comfort and furnished with taste and style. The owners are very available, and they gave us excellent advice on where to buy wines and cheeses. Bruno speaks a great Italian and this has helped us a lot because of our quaint French. To conclude, the room is spacious, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is perfectly functioning, and the very quiet ground in the garden is a constant invitation to the evening tastings of local wine wine.

It's a lovely stay.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the La Fugue aux Varennes. It was great with a very spacious room, lots of pine and well insulated so it was very warm with no heating. When we arrived we were asked when we wanted breakfast and we said 7.00am (just arriving from Australia we were waking at 5.00am and by 7 were very hungry indeed, and also wanted to go see the Sancerre sites while the light was soft and the crowds few), and while the owner blanched a little he provided a fine breakfast. On the second morning when we wanted to leave early for a day long drive to Rheims before the traffic built up, the owner said a 7.00am breakfast was impossible and he would leave tea and some cakes out instead. Of course the tea and coffee did not include milk, and the cakes very poor (pre-packaged from the supermarket); and the idea of us helping ourselves (common in other B&Bs) was out of the question: not a good look for what is the wise a great place to stay.

A  Great Place to Stay: pity about the inflexible breakfast

We had hoped to stay at the Hotel Saint Satur sur Loire but it was fully booked, however the proprietor suggested we might like his sister hotel about ten minutes away.
What an excellent place, totally the opposite of his other hotel, being almost brand new and constructed almost entirely of wood. we had a spacious bedroom on the first floor, which opened to a small balcony 
The bathroom consisted of a shower, bath and double wash basins, with
bath robes supplied, the toilet was separate from the bathroom.
Bruno our host could not have been more helpful, with an excellent command of English he helped us to plan our days in order to obtain the most from our stay.

Friendly stopover.

Everything is great. Like going to a good friend. Beautiful hotel, perfect cleanliness and every kind of comfort you can wish for. Very comfortable and spacious room. Great breakfast. Thanks Bruno, I will definitely come back to you!!

An Unforgettable Stay

We spent 2 night at La fugue in september 2013.

Well, where do I start?..fantastic place, beautifully appointed , location is perfect. Breakfast is really excellent  with an assortment or local products. Super clean and quiet. Bruno and Isabelle are fantastic hosts , they go out of their way to make you feel at home .This is probably the nicest guest house I have visited anywhere. I highly recommend this place. It you are looking for tranquility and relaxation this is it. Bravo Bruno and Isabelle !!
