I don't share the opinion of other guests, some of the décor is disgusting but we spent an excellent night in this quiet and restful hotel in the very comfortable bedding the bed linen and toilet towels are impeccable the room is a very well equipped suite a double door ensures the quiet cote corridor breakfast is very filling ham and Viennese cheeses......

peace of mind

Lack of hygiene! Horrible smell! A disaster and a 120€ fare. The decoration of the rooms is just horrible! The staff refuses to admit the truth! The electrical wires are apparently to avoid!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame on you!

We were referred here by the Hostellerie Sarassine nearby, which was full. The interior of the Auberge was cluttered and had an unpleasant smell. We had a drink on the terrace and were soon covered in crawling insects; we also had to avoid chickens droppings.  We were shown the menu which was restricted and expensive, and the state of the breakfast bar did not inspire us with confidence to dine there. The owners  were difficult and the general state of the establishment caused us to do something we have never done before; checkout within the hour.
The room would have cost 105 Euros so this was no budget stopover.

Avoid at all costs

We were redirected here to the Sarrassine hostel which was full. The interior was cluttered and smelled unpleasant. We drank a glass on the terrace but were soon attacked by insects; we also had to avoid chicken garbage. We were shown the menu which was small and expensive, but the state of the breakfast bar did not inspire us to dine here. The owners were difficult and the general state of the establishment prompted us to do something we had never done before: cancel the room in an hour. So it would have cost 105 Euros for small budgets.

Avoid it at all costs.

The 'Auberge Sarassine' (not to be confused with the nearby 'Hostellerie Sarassine') was not our first choice, but it was a busy weekend and we booked late. 

The location and setting are very pleasant and the owners offered us a  warm welcome: They and their staff treated us with courtesy throughout our stay.

We would describe the place as 'having character', and for us its quirkiness was its saving grace (as otherwise we could have described it as very tired). Cleanliness was obviously not high up on the establishment's list, but at least they seemed to be making an effort and it could have been a lot worse. Our room was spacious but certainly in need of a general refurb. The bed had two single matresses with the inevitable 'groove' in the middle. The pillows were uncomfortable; and we were kept awake by a few infuriating mosquitoes. (The hotel in fact provides a mosquito repellent, but it evidently wasn't that effective.) The air-conditioning unit in the room was not connected.

Dinner was a disappointment, and had it been better this review would have been more positive.

Despite the character of this hotel and the courteous owners and staff we would probably try somewhere else when we're next in the area.

A quirky, but not unpleasant hotel with an average restaurant

Old Hotel with broken furniture and dangers everywhere for the kids. Rooms not cleaned enough. In addition the owners of the Hotel have been extremely unpleasant.
