Has plenty of potential but falling way to short. 

The noise at night is very loud, no one seems to manage it. We tried to call the numbers for the site, and no answer. Shame as this ruined our holiday, we came away to rest but felt more tired than when we arrived. The pitches are too close which adds to this problem. 
The beach area is used by non residents. We saw plenty of people walking thro the site that had parked their car just outside, no challenges and means the site isnt secure, shame as so many children.

The field for sunbathing needs some work as it is very undulating ground.
The cost of the indoor pool is way too high, €19 for 2 hours, and adult only. 

+ Setting is good. Surrounding area lovely.

Very noisy site

We took our own caravan here for a two week break at the end of July 23 into early August 23. The site is well situated at the bottom of the lake and easy access from the campsite to the lake.  

Having heard of the high standards of a Sandaya we were disappointed, especially for the price we paid. 

We were allocated pitch 177, this is a very small pitch. I’d say the smallest on the site.  We therefore struggled to get out caravan and awning on the pitch.  The guide ropes had to go into the road which made it difficult to bed due to the hardcore.  

The pitches and statics are on top of each other, not much, if any privacy.  

The pitches are tight and due to the layout, including trees, planting and hedges it is very difficult to swing a caravan round.  Couple of times cars had to unhook to turn and move their caravans. 

There are no fully services pitches only power pitches, which we were aware of, but there was no obvious waste/toilet drop point and only 1 water point we could find.  After asking the receptionist where the waste facilities were, they were too unsure.  Turned out they are at the far end of the site where we were pitched, which wasn’t ideal.  I would say these facilities need improving.  

The reception welcome was ok although not the warmest welcome.  

The toilet blocks were good and clean, but the newer shower block only had one shower which was smelly at times. 

There is a small supermarket at the entrance which is well stocked, a little pricy but you expect that.  If you are lucky you will get free pastry’s if there are any left over at the end of the day. 

Overall the site is very tightly packed and this does feel hemmed in.  It is a great location with access to the lake and facilities by it. The views are stunning and it’s a great base for other day trips out. We went to Meribel and Morzine.  The kids clubs are good, but if it’s raining the evening entertainment is cancelled, which was a lot as it rained quite often.  

Not what we had expected

We took our own caravan here for a week in July 23. The site is well situated and we had an excellent position overlooking the lake. We really enjoyed the proximity to the lake and being able to swim in it daily.

Having read some reviews before we came I was apprehensive about this site. It definitely isn’t the standard of a Sandaya we have stayed on before. However overall we were happy and would stay again but would definitely pick our pitch again. Some are not great. 

The reception welcome was ok although not the warmest welcome we have had on campsites. We had some interaction with other staff during our stay and they were friendly and accommodating - so maybe the receptionist we had was an exception.  The toilet blocks were good and clean. There is a small supermarket at the entrance which is well stocked - a little pricy but that is common for site shops. Overall the site including the cottages is very tightly packed and this does feel a little hemmed in. The pitch opposite blocked us in as they didn’t park on their own pitch instead choosing to use their whole pitch for their caravan and tents etc.  UK wardens wouldn’t allow this on a site. Didn’t spoil the holiday - just a minor inconvenience.

Overall this is a great location with access to the lake and facilities by it. The views are stunning and it’s a great base for other day trips out - we went to Chamonix and Geneva as well as more local visits. We all had a great time and I would recommend this as a base. 

Excellent location with stunning views

Frosty reception on arrival as they couldn’t find my booking even with my booking number
No blackout blinds. 
No privacy hedges as with other camps
No insect screens
No kettle! Yes that’s true, no kettle, had to go out and buy one but they do supply a coffee percolator?!
No chopping board
No rep
Serving spoons to eat with Ok if you’ve got a massive mouth. 
Bar only open at certain times and closed fully on one day. Serves  kronenbourg beer and a few spirits only. 
Dishwasher tablet but no dishwasher(what’s that’s about?). 
Great decking size with canopy but all a bit tired looking. 
Plumbing and loo gurgling problems . 
Would I come back? Probably not, there are better campsites close by. 

Great location but beach very busy with locals.

Camping la sandaya La Nubliere

We booked a night for an EVJF at the beginning of September.. people at the unpleasant reception (when you don't like people, you don't work in the trade..) They forgot to leave us the sheets (which was paid in excess for the assets..) outside temperature of 4 degrees at night.. no heating in the lodge.. and they didn't want to leave us. Morality on 9 people: 4 slept in the car, a pregnant woman cried all night so she was so cold.. and not to mention the white night for the 9 people.

A shame without a name.

We were there the week before the annual closing... don't go there with the kids because everything is closed. We pay the full price for a more restricted stay. Sanitary are clean but there are no hooks.:-) a little improvement in view Perfect location and big Perfect for walking and running - sports friends GO Welcome a little cold but nothing serious

What can I say we were given a very uneven pitch hemmed in by everyone around us , a struggle to drive out 
We asked to change our pitch but we were told non non non quite forcibly by the extremely rude reception staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful to families in front of us and gave us no information when we checked in. Very standoffish. We started thinking it was because we were from Great Britain. We have never ever had  such rudeness from France or our home country.

The position of the site is fantastic, the lake is beautiful with watersports, families swimming and paddle boarding. The weather was perfect. 
I had a fabulous birthday meal at the beautiful restaurant nearby Chez Moi Cousine.

I really hope that no one else is treated as we were . 

Disappointed 

Very disappointingly, if you're a camper you don't have the benefits of a 4 star. No delimitation of locations, no hot water for showers or dishwashers, very narrow access corridor between trees....

We arrived at the same time as it was raining at the news conference. It was announcing a stormy holiday, OUPS not necessarily a good week. So we took the opportunity to get out of the campsite, Greg, the animation manager had created a special program for the gray week and also a poster with what to do in case of rain as an outdoor activity. So we could enjoy aquagym in the shelter and also for the bravest of the Morning Tonic. A little parenthesis talking about the pool, the demo we crossed in the morning must be part of the decanter because it is neither pleasant nor dynamic and a young woman would be screaming on her throat without asking a simple question to see if we stink at the neighbors.

Speciality

Horrendous pitch, full of rocks, large divets, no privacy, no hedging / natural boundary. If unlucky enough to be next to an army lodge you’re pretty much sharing the space.

We’ve stayed on hundreds of sites across UK & Europe and these are truly the worst pitches we’ve ever stayed on. Except the row of pitches next to the lake all others have either been placed randomly at the end of a row of army tents or in a designated wasteland in the centre. Very disappointing for Sandaya which has  developed a reputation for premium brand camping & facilities. We’ve previously stayed at other Sandaya sites and rate them 10/10.

The two toilet blocks are very modern & clean, however they DO NOT provide toilet roll (not even a holder) nor do any of the toilets have seats, nor a sanitary bin. These are basic requirements and are unacceptable for a 4* site. To put it into perspective we stayed for a stopover at a 2* site, ran privately by an elderly couple, old clean toilet blocks and all had toilet seats and provided paper. 

Sandaya needs to either invest in the pitches or wholly remove camping as an option as it will ultimately bring the overall reviews down effecting the reputation. 

On the plus side;
Location - beautiful lake Annecy with lake side access
Over the road access to the cycle track. West side 32km out and back trip to Annecy, all flat so fine for children, our 10 & 7 year old loved it
Splash park area, kids playground very good 
Vival shop - well stocked, reasonably priced 

This review is based purely on a camping experience and understand the views may differ from those staying in lodges.
