We stayed in this incredibly friendly family run B&B for 3 nights from 26th June. The whole place is full of character, very cosy and so was our room. Everything is tidy and done with great taste. The breakfast was fantastic with fresh croissants and crispy bread from the local bakery every morning and with home made jams and home made yogurt. The owners are wonderful people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They opened the outdoor swimming pool for us on request so we could swim on a hot day. It is within the walking distance to Chatea de Fere surrounded by forest. Can highly recommend this fantastic place to couples and families alike. Would love to come again.

Marvellous B&B, stunning location

Fantastic bed&breakfast with very friendly hosts. Mark and Goedele are very welcoming and will go out of their way to help with any enquiries about the region. We visited the 'devil's rocks' which are a 15 min drive away and the kids had a great time exploring and climbing. The American war cemetery made for a more serious visit and some interesting old castle ruins are just across the road. We also visited a Champagne house in the region and a Goedele called beforehand to make sure the owners were home. 
The food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious, the bedrooms were very neat and homely and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Great place to discover Champagne region and visit WW1 cemeteries.

For the third time, we stayed there, always too short, we leave with regret.The reception is always as charming and warm, the table well packed for breakfast and dinner carefully prepared by our hostess.The room is very comfortable and the bathroom and shower corner impeccable.We are so satisfied that we have chosen an option for our next stay.

Third visit to the king's madman

We were warmly welcomed by Goedele and Marc, and we spent two excellent evenings with friends, highlighted by the excellent cuisine of our hostels, pleasant rooms and good sleeping spots, and the time passed too quickly, but we will be happy to return.

We were very pleased by the kindness of the hosts, the clean rooms with modern comfort and of course the nice dinner with excellent champagne and accompanying wines.
Marc and Goedele take pride in what they do and that clearly shows.

A charming, friendly and delicious place (both the swimming pool and the dining room...), cocoon room and impeccable... from the bedding to the toilet! Thank you to Goedele and Marc for their hospitality and these good times... we highly recommend Marina and Jean-Marc!

A little corner of heaven...

This guest house is charming. These owners are also charming. The reception is perfect. The place is peaceful. We ate on the spot because there is also a guest table. The meal was perfect, cozy and of high quality, very reasonable price.

Friendliness

An excellent reception, charming owners, a very furnished house and rooms, a very pleasant bucolic setting, a magnificent garden, a lovely swimming pool, a quality breakfast; we had a very good time (court) in this place (private evening at Nesle Castle).

I absolutely agree with Stuart B his revieuw so I made it easy for myself: We benefitted from an incredibly friendly and high level of service. The dinner at around 35 Euro was a bargain given that it was essentially a four or five course meal with several glasses of good champagne and nice wine with the meal. The standard of cooking was really excellent. I wouldn't say it was a "fine dining" experience but it is not sold as such or priced as such. That said things like the personally sourced wines and the excellent cheeses and of course the champagne made it feel like a very special evening. The propreitors, Goedele and Marc joined us for dinner, which was a lovely touch. They are very easy company and really made us feel at home. Breakfast was great: touches like the four highly remarkable jams made it a good level above the typical continental breaksfast. The rooms were very nice. The location just outside the Champagne region is great.

Value for your money

We stayed at the fou du roy for one night on the 2 April.  As it was the Monday night of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend we were the only guests.  We benefitted from an incredibly friendly and high level of service.  The dinner at around 35 Euro was a bargain given that it was essentially a four or five course meal with several glasses of good champagne and nice wine with the meal.  The standard of cooking was really excellent.  I wouldn't say it was a "fine dining" experience but it is not sold as such or priced as such.  That said things like the personally sourced wines and the excellent cheeses and of course the champagne made it feel like a very special evening.  The propreitors, Goedele and Marc joined us for dinner, which was a lovely touch.  They are very easy company and really made us feel at home.  Breakfast was great: touches like the four highly remarkable jams made it a good level above the typical continental breaksfast.  

The rooms were very nicely finished (and I'm glad to see that they'd been refurbished since my visit under the previous owner in 2007).  The location just outside the Champagne region is great.  We used it as a stop off after a trip to the Vosges mountains on the way back to the UK.  The extra TLC was really welcome after a day on the road.
