Nestled in the middle of the land, everything is calm, this beautiful building calls us! and once we are there, it is very difficult to return there.... We have been trapped there for several years. Our hosts are so welcoming, warm and devoted, (Josette and Didier) It is their fault in fact!!!! The meals are delicious, rich with regional products, a dish of generous cheeses like them. (at least 20 different cheeses). How to resist all this, IMPOSSIBLE! I strongly advise you to go meet them. Good continuation and Good luck to you 2 Brigitte & Carlos Brigitte & Good luck to you 2

A Place of Peace

We enjoyed this very quiet place in the countryside. The decoration is simple but pleasant. The rooms are spacious, the bed is good and the room is very clean. Didier has prepared us an excellent meal. Quality ratio price is nothing to say. Entrance, flat, cheese and dessert, appetizer ( homemade) and wine included. What fresh and excellent quality products. A beautiful culinary discovery. Breakfast is a fun time with the home confectionery and the home brew... Our children were very well received. We will return with pleasure.

We recommend

This is our third or fourth visit.  It would have been more except they are often fully booked.  Impeccably clean, superb evening meal and amazing breakfast.  Just how a French B and B should be - dining outside around a table of ten, multiple nationalities and lots of discussion about current events.
To be highly recommended.

Our host, Didier, took care of us with great skill and kindness: from the aperitif to the dessert, he kept making us appreciate his rare culinary talents of creativity. We were even entitled to a plate of cheese of 14 varieties of goats worthy of a great restaurant. As for the home brew and the many homemade jams for breakfast....a delight. As we had our little labrit with us, he took us to a Rez street room and this two-day stay really brought us back. We were definitely returning to an establishment to recommend.

GASTRONOMIC and BUCOLIC stage

A little lost house in the countryside but a nice surprise both in terms of rooms and the delicious dinner, with an extraordinary plate of cheeses! friendly atmosphere during the meal with the other guests, this is what you expect from a guest room without forgetting the quite reasonable price.

Thank you to my two guests who welcomed me with great kindness in a family atmosphere. I spent 5 nights with my two cats in a nice quiet and serene place, a warm and very clean guest house. I had the large downstairs room (very good bed) near the kitchen corner so very convenient. The excellent dinner prepared by Didier. A pleasant lunch. Thank you both again.

A wonderful address not to be missed

Good phone contact, nice rooms, spacious bathroom, separate toilets, clean, nickel, and excellent food and dining, all in good company... we can only recommend... we'll be back!

Nice guest room, great stage!

We have just returned from our second stay at this wonderful Chambres D'hotes. Josette and Didier welcome their guests to their lovely home, a stone farmhouse in a tiny hamlet deep in the French countryside near Niort, roughly mid way between Poitiers and La Rochelle. 

Expect quiet relaxation (no TV - we didn't miss it at all); friendly, typical French atmosphere; spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated rooms and brilliant food. We agree with Robert B that the evening meal is a must. Much of the produce is home grown and chef Didier is masterful in his preparation and presentation. 

Meals are taken at one long table, so guests can converse together and with Didier and Josette who join with their guests at dinner. Even if you don't speak a great deal of French (which we don't) it is still possible to enjoy the company and humour. 

Although this is an area of France largely unspoilt by excessive commerce - sightings of American fast food outlets and takeaways are rare - there are many local attractions for couples and families and catering for all tastes, such as the amazing Planete Futuroscope at Poitiers, Marais Poitevin, La Rochelle, Ile de Re, the lovely west coast beaches and there is also a free local leisure park with amenities, swimming lake, sandy beach, grassy slopes and children's playground. 

This Chambres D'hotes is within very easy reach of the A10 autoroute and directions are given on the website along with prices and photos.

Great accommodation, superb food and convivial company.

First of all -- we really loved Josette and Didier, who are quiet, witty, sweet folks with a twinkle in their eyes.  Our rooms were great-- simple and lovely-- and of course we ate dinner here every night.  Long table, with travelers from France, Belgium, Netherlands-- and a long evening, from aperitifs to desserts.  Didier really is a wonderful cook. He makes the wine!  Most of the fruits and vegetables come from the garden.  Our somewhat unusual dietetic quirks were graciously accommodated. I hope for a chance to return in the future!

Three happy days here!

We stayed with Josette and Didier during our travels. From a welcoming drink through to our good-byes we were looked after magnificently. If you stay, make sure you book the evening meal. Didier's table is to be envied - particularly his cheese platter! Rooms are comfortable and clean. The village is well worth a stroll around.
