Simple but good! I needed a few days alone and in this place and in this hotel I was just right. There is nothing oversized, everything is simple. But: everything is very clean and everything works. The reception was very friendly despite the language barrier and the head of the house is very hospitable and helpful. The room layout is convenient and the view of the canal and the North Sea is great. The price ratio is better here than in large houses with a lot of staff. Tip: In the early morning sit alone on the canal, watch the tide and the flood and enjoy this great peace! I will surely come back!

Simple, beautiful, affordable and quiet

This is a small hotel that does its job well. A small but functional and clean room. The hotel is a few meters from the beach.

Good ratio/quality/price

The manager was very hospitable, the room was more than tidy and very good and a very pleasant breakfast. The view was pleasant and the very sunny weather allowed us to have lunch on the terrace with a beautiful view of little Fort Philippe and Graveline.

The room, although a little small, is perfect, there is everything you need, it is very clean, not far from the beach. The boss is friendly and intentional. The ratio of quality to price seems very satisfactory to me. The rooms are very quiet, perhaps those that give on the back of the pier even more, because those that give on the beach give on the street and the canal.

It's a nice hotel.

Nice hotel with a nice location and sea view. Very clean and functional room. Mini-bémol about the size of the shower, just a little bit small. Very welcoming and helpful boss with super breakfast. Very cozy with good products. Very good stay.

Nice hotel.

Excellent located, in a quiet area. Rooms are small and simple, but perfectly clean and well equiped. Such a pity that they are not doing restaurant, so you can only have some breakfast after 8 AM. Considering the price (less than 50 eur per room), you find more that you can expect.

Small, but nice and cheap

We needed to be in Gravelines. This hotel is situated around 8 minutes drive away. It is in a quiet location next to the canal with nice views. The rooms, we had the family room up stairs overlooking the sea, was basic but adequate. A comfy bed, a nice warm shower and a clean room.....you don’t need more. 
The male host was friendly. 

Downside was the late check in, after 5pm sharp, especially if you come from far. Checking in could have been a bit more welcoming but this loosened up quickly. 

We didn’t have any breakfast at the place because there was a power cut going on in the village. 

From this little village you can explore some interesting WO2 bunkers if that’s your thing. All facilities are basically in the next village Gravelines. 

Recommended hotel for a short stay if you need to be in the area. 



Basic but comfortable 

Quite basic but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and do their utmost if your french is not as good as it could be. In a great location with formidable views at the front, there's good parking just outside. The small bar seems to now be the only one open in the vicinity, so it's nice to share it with a few locals. There's a small restaurant but it's definately probably best to check when it's open before you arrive.

Breakfast @ 6e is great!

We loved L'univers and Grand Fort Phillipe and would definitely go again.

Oh, bye the bye, google says there are quite a few restaurants, bars and hotels within a few minutes walk. That would seem to be true as you can see many of them from the hotel. You do, however, have to have the ability to fly or walk on water as the river is between you and them and it's a 5/6 km drive to get round to them.....

Charming!

There is nothing to be said about the precise reviews before. Perfect quality price ratio, plus the kindness of the bosses. However, two small additional information: - Monday (even in the middle of the season): the hotel does not serve restaurant, so we could not enjoy the meals, so we will have to go back there, given the excellent reputation of the place; - As stipulated the reception of the hotel is only from 5.00 to 9.00 hrs - There is nothing to eat around pedestrian, so it is necessary to go to Gravelines (at most 6 Km) of... This said we will go back there, but let us avoid the nearest Monday in order to stay in our home.
