This hotel has had better days, the decor is aging and the hotel is no longer up to modern comfort standards but the bunk bed is comfortable, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast is cozy and with local snacks. Otherwise, there is no restaurant or even a meal tray when you get there in the evening.

Old but clean

Great reception, super central and quiet location, great parking, popular with motorcyclists, unfortunately there is no restaurant in the hotel, but refreshments are served on request.

Ideal drop point for stays or stages

We have a nice stopover in this hotel c is true a little vigilant but very quiet of impeccable cleanliness the bathroom without a curtain vintage shower would deserve a renovation we did not dine at the hotel restaurant preferring the small village nearby

I'll start with the negative which is quickly caught up by the other positive points: this hotel is a little old and very vintage. However it is very well located (just above the village) with a large parking lot and a beautiful view. Very family atmosphere or staff is in the least care for the guests. Good bed and very good breakfast. The family kitchen is very good and very copious. I'll end up with the large swimming pool very nice with this heat. A successful experience

Hotel with old charm, very likely. The location is ideal, quiet and the view is magnificent. Breakfast, in the form of a buffet, is excellent. Choice and quality products. Very good reception, personal listening

All right, all right.

This year we were happy to return for the third time. The hospitality is still excellent and the hotel retains all its charm. A spacious, very clean room, with a balcony overlooking a green area and mountains. At breakfast, the buffet is well packed (fresh fruit, excellent cheeses). We have our evening meals at the hotel, because the cuisine is good. It is hard to beat for this price! Small lounges are available to residents.

Many qualities and a very good value for money

Welcome to Grandma's. The hotel has remained in its juice for a good forty years, with the level of equipment and service of the time. An old room with no phone charge. A bathroom worthy of the Addams family's home with miserable shower gel bags and outdated towels. An old-fashioned dining room, with rationed bread and a low-end bar.

It must have been good in the'80s.

Guillestre is in a fantastic location for visiting some great high alpine passes, so is of interest to tourists who enjoy driving and cycling. I  don’t think it’s a ski resort, so as such, the hotel options are limited.

Les Barnieres is a perfect stop for a touring holiday as it’s just outside town, so is quiet and has plentiful parking next to the hotel. There’s even a hose by the parking area, for a quick wash down of your vehicle. It’s probably a 5 -10 minute walk downhill into town.

Rooms are comfortable, though a little dated, but that is reflected in the bargain price. Balconies have a great view. It was hot when we were there, so we slept with the balcony doors open and listened to what I think was a nightingale on both nights.

Food was very good, though the menu combinations offered are a little complicated.

The most wonderful thing about Les Barnieres though, is the pool area. It’s just across the (very quiet) road from the hotel, and is really quite private. Our group of 12 had it mostly to ourselves. There are plenty of loungers, and even a large covered area if you want shade, and maybe a game of table tennis. The pool is of a good size and is beautifully clean.

Annick, the owner, and her staff were absolutely charming.

Ideal hotel for touring this beautiful area.

We stayed there one night. We couldn't spend another night. I'm getting older on the set: I felt like I was at my grandparents' house. The restaurant room is clean and well maintained but very old. The room is out of age with a vintage bathroom. The bed is too worn out and unworthy of a 3 star. The breakfast, 10€, is on the edge of what is acceptable: a snack bar per person, and terrible bread on demand, cheeses in the end of life and low-end charcoal (jambon).

Very disappointing: out-of-date bedding and outdated frame

Guillestre is a lovely little town, with some buzzing bars and restaurants.
This is a perfectly okay place to stay, about 10 minutes walk from town, but is a bit odd. The outside of the hotel is great: it looks like a ski chalet and has balconies. The rooms are clean and quite spacious but the décor is grannyfied to say the least. Very old-fashioned furniture and furnishings. 
The bathroom we had was apricot coloured and there was no shower but it was functional and well maintained.
As long as you don't mind old-fashioned, it's fine.
