Unfortunately I was forced to cancel my booking (made since November 2017) because this hotel is closed!!! Unfortunately we were not notified but I realized this because they no longer respond to emails. So I looked on Tripadvisor and I noticed that some customers found themselves in front of a closed door also without being notified (when they had paid more). There is no way to reach them either by phone or email. The least of the things is to warn customers. I am very disappointed having booked very early because I really wanted to go to this establishment. It is really a lack of professionalism.

Closure without warning

We enjoyed: the comfortable rooms, the quietness of the place, the panoramic view of the well chain, the modern decoration, the spacious bathroom, the staff listening without being invasive, the proximity of the parking lot.

We are on our birthday.

The location of this hotel is absolutely stunning. The restaurant in particular has fantastic views over the valley.
The hotel is modern but discreetly built into the side of an old village.
The staff were excellent, and the rooms clean and modern.
The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard, and overall offered really good value.

A wonderful location close to the Autoroute

6 rooms under the restaurant of the same name, spacious and modern with a very beautiful view of the valley. Breakfast is served in the room or restaurant with fresh produce (delicious homemade sandwiches and jams)

We spent one night at the Diapason, a very quiet hotel with only five rooms, our hotel had a beautiful view, this hotel is located above the village of Broc near Issoire and overlooks the valley, a spacious and elegantly decorated room, very clean and once again splendid view.

The exceptional view

We arrived from a mundane road to find hotel parking next to a grassy picnic spot atop a hill with castle ruins and an historic village below. The view is breathtaking. Having been travelling since 5 am and arriving at 2.35pm we were ready to rest and freshen up. We had no check in information on our booking receipt and could find no apparent indication on the hotel website. On arrival we were cheerily told that we were too early and to come back at 4pm as the room wasn't ready. This left us to wander the streets of Issoire, a pleasant place until we returned at 4.40pm. It seems that check in is apparently at 6pm. We were met by a very pleasant young lady who showed us to our room. This was spectacular. We were instructed how to use the plastic entry key but not the electronic blinds. After working out which switch to use we didn't realise until the morning that there was an outside mesh blind as well, for extra protection. The bed, linen, shower etc were excellent and spotlessly clean. The floor covering was a special smooth texture which may have been washed as it was quite sticky, especially to walk on with bare feet. We had a wonderful night's sleep in the extra king size bed. The view from the large windows is breathtaking. The TV doubles up as a mirror and is an unusual feature of this most stylish room. It is worth taking the superior double. 
We had booked for dinner which was incredible. Beautifully presented food which was of a very high standard was served in a stunning modern setting. At times there is music and a grand piano adds to the ambiance.
Do ask for a window table to fully appreciate the view. 
There are a range of menu options. We chose the €49 per person menu which offered amuse bouche, starter, main and dessert with different breads offered for different courses. Coffee and wonderfully tasty accompaniments were served to end a superior meal. Aperitifs are offered prior to the meal at extra cost. The wine list is very comprehensive starting around €23 a bottle to over €100. It seems expensive but the discrete and helpful staff, plus the choice and taste of meals is so enjoyable that the price seems reasonable. We were leaving early so didn't have breakfast which is around €16 per person.
We would definitely return without hesitation. 

A most memorable stay

Located on top of a hill near Issoire.
Large spacious bedroom with excellent bathroom.
Unfortunately no view from my room a shame given the location.
Excellent breakfast.
When opening the windows there can be a droning noise from the ventilation system for the hotel.
Thankfully it stopped and the night was in fact quiet.
Good wifi.
Plenty of electrical outlets.
Free parking.

Modern Facility

At this price of services, no service. No luggage carrier. Very unkind driver. Very nice and neat room, original but noisy from the restaurant upstairs, soundproofing to be reviewed. Noisy air conditioning and noise from our outdoor air conditioning room or kitchen... yet largely financed by the region... What a nice surprise to have to pay 35€ extra for an extra child's bed! scandalous. No room service before 9am.

Dirty and near-zero service...

Very nice hotel with an even better restaurant. It is cooked to a high standard. The modern and highly stylish house is located on a plateau above a partly lovingly restored medieval village.

Fantastic

Driving down to the south of France, we wanted a stop-over near Issoire, and searched on Tripadvisor. Le Diapason is 8 minutes from the autoroute in a  hamlet, Le Broc. Staff were very welcoming and we were able to check in early. The bedroom was ultra modern, large and had fantastic views. It was unbelievably comfortable, the bed and  linens were divine, and we slept really well. Dining room was stunning, and dinner was amazing. We will stop there again most definitely.
