We loved this gorgeous B&B and the lovely hosts.  The rooms were beautiful, lovely antique linen with beautiful embroidery, quite large plenty of room for luggage etc, the bathroom was also beautifully set up and decorated with separate toilet.  We loved our breakfast too, you could feel the love...homemade yummy jams, a variety of breads, cereal and homemade yoghurts.  We would definitely recommend....it is extremely good value for money...we loved it!

THE BEST B&B ON OUR TRIP

It is not a hotel in use, it is a house that rents rooms. It has a very personal and friendly treatment. The rooms are very spacious and with a classic decoration that enchants the place. The breakfast with homemade products is tasty.

The House of Huespedes

This B&B in Castillon La Bataille (the site of the last battle of the 100 Years’ War!) is a little gem. It is a large 200-year-old house that at one time must have belonged to a wealthy grandee of the city. The owner is very friendly, and has a very friendly and large dog. The rooms are quite big. Ours had a bath, I do not know if they all do. Good features, besides the aforementioned include the large garden at the back and especially the large breakfast. The  madame serves a wide variety of breads, homemade jams, fresh-squeezed orange juice, home-made yogurt, etc. It is served family style which provides the added attraction of having a nice chat with the other guests. Parking is quite limited, so reserve it ahead of time.

Aux Raisons Verts only accepts payment in cash. If you are booking through Booking.com you may not see that the B&B does not take credit cards. It is in the fine print at the bottom of the four-page reservation. Also, do not be deceived by the fact that you have to give Booking.com your credit card #. It is only to guarantee the reservation, and should not be confused as evidence that the B&B accepts credit card payments.

The town is small and evidentially not as well-off as some other locations in Bordeaux, but not without its charms. It is on the Dordogne River and has a beautiful old bridge crossing it. There are a few restaurants but not all are open in the off season. There is a nice bar downtown near the river where friendly locals gather to enjoy more than 100 varieties of Belgian beer.

Great B&B Off the Beaten Path

We happened to stop there for one night and enjoyed it very much. Friendly accommodation, comfortable room, and quality breakfast (home-made jams...) If we're going through this area, we'll come back.

It's perfect.

A place we won't forget! The reception was superb, to say the least, like being in the Family. The furnishing of the assigned room was above all expectations: a room of about 35 square meters with living room, armchair, balcony bed and antique furniture. The bathroom was no less, with sophisticated and neat furniture. Exemplary and impeccable cleanliness. Breakfast, included in the price, with fresh and homemade products. Finally, the homeowners' advice was very useful to visit the wonderful places in the area. All this at a really priceless price. A sincere compliment to the owners of this highly recommended facility.

Incredible and Fantastic Experience!

I booked two rooms for three nights and one room for two nights over the weekend 25/26/27 August as we were going to a family wedding nearby.  I emailed the Zanonis well in advance with the dates required and received an email stating that they could accommodate us and they confirmed the price.  I replied saying we would like to to go ahead with the booking and I asked them if they would like my credit card details by way of deposit.  When we arrived at Aux Raisins Verts we were shocked to find it was closed and the housekeeper said the owners were away.  If the owners were no longer able to accept our booking they should have told us in advance.  It is not good enough for us to arrive and find that they have reneged on our booking.  Luckily we were able to find alternative accommodation, but it was not a good start to the wedding weekend.

Beware!

A very warm welcome from the owners who are taking little care of their hosts. The breakfast is excellent and the setting is very pleasant.

Very welcome

We booked 2 rooms; one for my daughter and 2 grandchildren and one for ourselves. Both were large, well appointed and 'quirky'.  Very in much in keeping with the age of the house and well thought out.  Danielle our hostess was delightful and very friendly but underestimates her English language skills.  Much better than our French!
Her homemade jams, yogurt and freshly squeezed oranges combined with fresh bread and croissants - quintessentially French - were thoroughly enjoyed by all at breakfast time. We were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The beautiful garden added to ambience. Gucci the dog and the fluff ball of a cat, Dotty (?) were a bonus! All in all, a memorable and enjoyable 3 nights. Excellent value for money.

A distinctive residence, not just another room in a hotel chain.

An impeccable address, everything is wonderful relaxation and peace, very peaceful establishment, superb furniture, very delicate artistic taste, very spacious room.

A paradise for one night

We spent a weekend in the region and we stayed at the Green Raisin. It's a charming house, more charming owner and very pleasant atmosphere. It was a real discovery for us and it's mostly an option not to forget if you go through it.
