We are currently in a 4 person cottage and this is a cottage: cottage that smells old, very hot and very poorly insulated phonically, canvases are all over the place, average cleanliness. rudimentary furnishings, towel holders and broken toilets, virtually no power supply, tiny refrigerator, little storage... Not ideal for a family with a baby: no microwave to heat the bottles, radiant room with a very tight pool and no private outdoor space... The room is large but poorly maintained.

We had a very good stay at the inn, a very good place close to many sights of all kinds, and a hike start, a quiet place, in the greenery... what a rest, a pleasant ride with everything you need.

For the past two years we have decided to spend a weekend in La Vitrolle with our group of friends. Wonderful times... except when it rains very, very hard! Caroline offers a warm and friendly welcome. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The meals are made with very fresh products and represent the area very well. One-day chateaux... it's wonderful! The pool is very nice, but if you want to do something else, there are the beaches, the ball field, the two-step lime... nothing to be bored with. Let's try!

the life of the castle

We booked at Domaine de la Vitrolle after reading Martin Walker's detective-in-the-Dordogne series, Bruno, Chief of Police. While Bruno was not there to welcome us, we had a great experience. Our room was very large, so large my husband got lost in the middle of the night, because it is also very dark - no ambient light coming in from outside - and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, good pillows, good linens. We loved having extra room for sitting and a table and chairs for eating dinner. The bathroom was huge, with stained glass windows. We loved the breakfast with fresh croissants and pain au chocolate, meats, cheeses, and apple juice pressed from apples grown on site. We stayed three nights, and found it to be a great value for the space and the lovely experience. The location is so close to the old prehistoric caves, to many castles, and to little towns specializing in geese (fois gras) and truffles. There are three large grocery/department stores in nearby LeBugue (5 minutes) and several good restaurants nearby.

Rusty homes too close to each other, too much promiscuity. Minimal equipment (not even microwaves), we had to ask for a boiler. Unworkable tennis court (hole-filled floor). Not enough terraces around the pool. No direct access to the river. Disappointed because it's a remarkable site with high potential untapped.

The Russian stay

We spent two very pleasant nights in a very friendly room. Quiet and good bed. Very cozy and diverse lunch, with a very attentive staff, frankly nothing to blame. I didn't go to the pool because a lot of kids in early August, normal... Reception a little cold at first but actually very attentive to customers, male employees (copying and shaving) might just be more friendly and say hello but it's okay for me it's so frequent today

Very good stay I recommend

We were delighted with our spacious rooms.  The furniture was original - beautiful cabinetry-- not quite enough space for folded items but we managed.  Walking around the grounds we found rows and rows of young apple trees, one cherry tree and some rabbits in cages. Not a long walk to the village but the 2 lane road had no sidewalks.  Caring staff and not far from many interesting places in the area.

Charming chateau hotel

We stayed at the Vitrolle estate, the Caillaves, a beautiful villa with a swimming pool, a very very quiet place. We were very well received by Caroline very available to give us information about the area. A huge villa with air conditioning except in 2 rooms with mosquito nets. Each room is equipped with a toilet and toilet. The perfect bunk bed. 2 kitchens with all the know-how you need. We enjoyed the pool because of the heat. Also shower and toilet is very close to the pool. In conclusion, ideal rental for 11 people. absolutely perfect and nothing to say. We will come back with. I highly recommend.

What a wonderful day

A three-day stay at the top, owned by the small care for us. Only the bemool, the aging side of the facilities... (cathodic TV, old umbrellas or broken ones...) The interior would also need a refreshment, but for three days we agreed... Pool Top, with even children's games (fries, balloons...) Thank you again!
