We decided to have a lovebird party and a night to rest. About the room everything was clean except for the care products already used so not changed at every passing of customers. The worry is that as early as 8:00 in the morning the staff who takes care of the rooms screams from one end to the other, rican also from one end to the other and so wakes up his customers a little more discretion would be put on especially when you want to rest and that the room should only be released because at 11:00 because we felt like being on a football field with spectators screaming at the players from one end to the other.

Good quality but lack of respect for customers' sleep

For the third time we came, our room wasn't wired, our son had a room that had the same problem, and another son, because we were family, had a problem with his room pass, and a problem with the water cut.

The rooms at the Akena City in Romilly are twice as expensive as the hotel chains... even TV offers Canal Plus, which is not the case at Ibis for example.. The staff is as friendly and smiling as elsewhere... A difference with the upper category: the breakfast buffet has less diversity and is perfect in some areas (fruit juice, low-end jams...)

The quality-price ratio is unbeatable.

This is the fifth year that we have been back in this hotel when we are working in the area. I am still delighted with the kindness of the staff, the comfort of the bed and also the price of the breakfast is quite right! Keep it up and we will continue to be faithful to you!

For about 50 euros, we have a parking lot, a very friendly staff, a functional room, which has little to envy of much more expensive hotel chain rooms.

Excellent quality-price report

Yes, I booked the Akena hotel on price - never a wise move, but struck lucky.

It's a very standard French commercial travellers' hotel - plain rooms, no frills but what you need for a quick overnight stop, On the Sunday night we stayed it seemed we were virtually the only guests. But the check in was smooth (but the fermé sign on the entrance doors was a bit disconcerting) and the room clean and comfortable.

The receptionist advised us of a 15% discount on the steak restaurant down the road, which was helpful. Though the short walk there, past the drive-thru McDonalds was again rather bleak, being through a windswept treeless retail park on the old airfield.

We had a restful and quiet night and the breakfast in the morning was good value. Standard French breads, preserves and cheeses on a buffet. 

No nasty surprises on the bill, so whilst not a four star hotel, the review gets four stars.

Bleak location, but great value and hospitality

The hotel is located about 2.5 km east of the city centre, right next to the McDonald's restaurant in a quiet commercial area. From the outside, the building already gives the impression that it is new or still very new. In the interior, this impression is consolidated. Also positive is the beautiful two-bedroom: sufficient size, functional, very pleasant lighting, modern, clean, great bathroom. There are enough free parking spaces on the ground. Unfortunately, WiFi did not work because the password was not called in. Even the lady at the reception could not solve the problem, so we did not have any Internet at all. However, we only missed a refrigerator and a good second-grade classroom.

Pleasant hotel with good value for money

Booked this hotel as a convenient stop-over location on our long road trip through France to Spain. The Hotel is situated at the end of an industrial estate (although quite ‘open’ and not ‘hemmed in’) with good free parking. We were received a nice welcome and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.  The room was a little dated and sparse but otherwise clean and comfortable enough.  No tea or coffee in the room – only a vending machine down in the reception area.  We didn’t take the breakfast as we had to make a very early start. You pay your money and you take your choice.  Okay if there’s nothing else in the area that you can book into that’s better.
