It was during a weekend of love that we had the opportunity to book a room with a meatloaf. And what a pleasant stay! A beautifully decorated room, heated to wood fire. A small breakfast served in the room, with a multitude of choices to satisfy everyone. A guest room set in a quiet and restful countryside.

It was a great weekend.

The guest room in a very quiet hamlet in the middle of the meadows. We had booked the suite room for a night. There is no closet in this room (just a small buffet), which is not easy to make a conclusion without the owner's word: it was a very quiet place to stay for a little longer. The owner closed the room very late for lunch, but the owner said that the room was not discouraged, but the owner of the restaurant, who was not in the room, had a very nice room to eat, but we could not talk about a very nice room.

It's disappointing.

Friendly home, hosted by a lovely little family, simple but efficient kitchen. A real relaxing moment in the heart of a peaceful countryside... The Chalet was our nest Reunited All comfort.

Simply put

We rented this cottage on May 1st for a meeting with friends. We were 19 (11 adults and 8 children). We had a great weekend despite the unforgiving weather. The cottage is very well equipped, kitchen, large dining room and bedrooms. It is located in the countryside, safe for children enjoying games. Various activities offered, quad, ponies... this cottage is of a very good price ratio.

What a disappointment! I discourage. We are used to the guest rooms, so we are disappointed by our stay, which is far below the average of the other B&Bs at 60 euros a night. And far from the promises made by the owners or by the previous rated excellent. Very poor quality/price ratio! 60 euros a night! exaggerated rate for service. Especially because the environment is not adapted to the tourist environment (less than 25 km) so some rooms will not justify this price, especially at night. For this we found it disappointing: the room where 2 separate beds served as two seats (in this case, a small room and a terrace for the sale on the two chairs) - so we can see that the price of the living room is too low because the mattress was not too close to the kitchen table. - We also saw that the kitchen was not too close to the dining room - but we did not look for a room in the kitchen - but in this case we could not find a lot of room in the garden, and in this case we could not find a lot of room in the countryside, and

It's very disappointing.

Le Trotin' Chair is basically a small farm where the owners hold some horses and Charollais cows. On the side they have remodeled the attic over their farm house and build a small cabin next door. Both are available for vacationers. The owners lived in the big city for a while, decided it was too hectic and decided to move to quiet, rural France. And boy they did succeed. Martigny-Le-Comte is so small that not only it's name is larger on the map than the village, the village is almost smaller than the city-name sign. Le Trotin' Chair a few miles away from this itty-bitty village center on a side-road of a side-road. You can not get more rural in France. The owners are extremely kind and quiet people. 

Le Trotin' Chair is a small place that is clean, functional, very basic but offers everything you need without frills. We were in the cabin, and it's basically a double bed, with a mini table next to it. The bathroom is French-size little, but modern, clean and functional. On the loft are two more beds, but I recommend you only fill those if you really like each other. It would be rather full with four people in there.

The view from the cabin is magnificent. A beautiful bunch of daisies with cows fields on rolling hills behind it. We have visited many gorgeous places around the world, including Hawaii and the Caribbean, but this view is one we cherish in our minds and pictures (see pictures). The best day we had is when we shorted our day of sight-seeing due to rain, but spent the whole night enjoying the sunset on the little terrace in front of the cabin. What a view.

Breakfast is included and home cooked by the wife of the house. Every morning, you get a fresh baked bread, some yoghurt, fresh honey, and all the coffee and tea you can handle.

Despite the very rural and quiet location, Martigny-Le-Compte is actually located very nicely in south Burgundy. Highlights like Beaune, Cluny and Charolles are all within hours reach. Check out any local tourist office for all the cute castles around. There's even one in the backyard. Check out the very quiet Chateau-de-Berzé.
