Located close to the castle, the English Tower Hotel is a very good address, the reception is warm, the price ratio is quite decent, the breakfast is plentiful, the geographical location is perfect for visiting the centre of Mayenne

A friendly hotel in the centre of Mayenne

Hotel in the center of Mayenne, 2 steps from the restrooms, at the foot of the Indian restaurant. Room of reasonable size, very good bed, very clean room, breakfast, very good. The bed and breakfast, the room resonates, we were not many, I can't assess the noise. I'll be back on my next stay in Mayenne

Back from Brittany and on our way to Paris before going back down to the Var we had booked in this establishment. What a surprise.....we were right in front of a hotel.....reception after 5:30 pm........and also when we came down to dinner around 7:30 pm it was closed again!!!!!!

Stop at Mayenne on the Francette

This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel. On both occasions I was on a cycling holiday and just passing through. The dining room is great - though it's a real pity that there is no evening meal available here. The view over the river below is stunning from the dining room. The room was comfortable and as were the beds. When the owner was present we were made to feel welcome. She locked our cycles in a secure store room, which was great. The hotel is very central and within easy reach of decent places to eat. Value for money was OK, but not great.

 · Breakfast could have been better. The coffee was disappointing. It is described as a hotel but we found that it was closed until 16.00 and had to wait three hours to drop our stuff off, which meant that we didn't really have an opportunity to check out the sights in the pretty town of Mayenne.

Good place to stay if you are passing through - if you want food, you'll need to walk into the town.

The hotel is very well located in the city centre, the reception is very nice. For the rooms everything is as expected. Quiet, clean, private parking available. You can go there without hesitation.

Nice city hotel with views of the Mayan River

First of all, the reception was very pleasant, the hotel manager was attentive and well advised. The rooms are quiet, the bedding is quality, the bed is queen size (160 x 200cm), and it is very clean. The water rooms are spacious and equipped (hair dryers, soap, shower gel, cup, bath sheets).

Calm and comfortable

This Hotel is well placed if you want to go out into Mayenne centre. Secure car park close to accommodation is also a plus. As for the Hotel itself the best word to describe it is functional and adequate. Rooms are clean but have nothing but the basic amenities. Perfect for an overnighter but if you are staying longer then I would suggest that you look a little more up market.
We stopped overnight (Early Sept) before heading North the Hotel Bar closed at around 7:00 pm and the restaurant was not open. Returning from a meal at 10:00 pm we found the reception was shut. This is not untypical of a French budget hotel so if you intend to stay then it would be best to enquire as to what you can expect during your stay.
Our experience was not the best; towels x 2 were small, hot water took some time to get through the pipes which made showering a bit of a gamble. Having said that for 65 euro per night I suppose you can't grumble to much.
