I stayed at Hancy Guesthouse for 2 nights. It was clean and well-equipped: own kitchen, complimentary snacks, air conditioning, TV, wardrobe (although the room had no toiletries, hairdryer or ironing board). 

However, there were some surprises. The guesthouse had very poor noise insulation. You could hear (and be heard) when people entered & left their rooms, footsteps & conversation in the hallway, and especially the flushing of the toilet. The electric toilet is extremely loud, and the bathroom wall doesn’t go all the way up to the ceiling. The wifi sometimes dropped out. Also, they don’t take card payments, only cash or wire transfers, and you get a hand-written receipt which is not signed or attributed to the Guesthouse. 

The patrons were attentive and polite, but lived at the end of the hallway which sometimes made it feel like you didn't have 100% privacy. For example, on my second day one of them knocked & subsequently unlocked my door at 10am while I was still sleeping (not for housekeeping either), which was a bit bizarre. In addition, they did not let me temporarily leave my suitcase after checking out. 

Overall, I did not feel fully comfortable and would not stay here again.

Expected better based on reviews

The guesthouse is very well-located with very friendly owners who provide maps/bus timetables and guides not only for Nice but for all the surrounding places which I found very helpful. The rooms are clean. I found the wifi a bit slow at times but perfectly manageable and the kitchen facilities are fairly basic- a kettle/microwave/fridge, good for making breakfast but no cooking options. Overall a good place to stay.

Good guesthouse in Nice

The guesthouse is in a perfect location, I walked to Nice. The owners are very kind, the gentleman also speaks Italian. The rooms are nice and clean, the only thing is the bathroom that is like that of the ships. Although breakfast was not included, they provide the coffee machine, marmalades, cookies and drinks for free.

Very central position

The hosts were very friendly, picked us up from the airport, of course they took us back to the airport. The room was clean and there was a small kitchen with a refrigerator in the room.

We had a small twin room with small kitchenette, perfect for breakfast and snacks.
Very clean and so well located to supermarkets, buses and restos. And the hosts, Marie and Jean are beyond welcoming!
A budget accommodation, spotless,  with a big heart and very comfy beds.  In spite of being well located, it was very peaceful, a blessing for my husband who is a light sleeper. They also provide beverages free of charge in the communal fridge...lovely gesture.

A gem in Nice!

Stayed at Hancy guesthouse for three nights. Arrived in nice @ 11 o clock at night to a text asking if we needed a transfer we were on the bus already but great touch. A little hard to find as the building is being renovated outside but checked in with milk cakes coffee etc in the room ready. The room is as u need basic with dated decor but spotlessly clean with cooking shower etc a bargain for the price.first night we were given bus timetables maps and advise on everything we wanted to do and our hosts were more than happy to help in every way they could. We left late at night and we were ok to leave our bags all day and took Jean up on a transfer to the airport at £20 euros. The bus was £12 for two of us so made sense as it was crowded
Great place for a short stay with really helpful owners a joy to of stayed there and will be going back September centrally located it’s like visiting a long lost aunt and uncle for a few days 

What a gem 

I stayed 3 days at Le Hancy Guesthouse. Very warm welcome, owners who seem to be often there to answer our questions where to guide us in this beautiful city of Nice. The hotel is also well located, many things are accessible on foot. Very nice price but payment by blue card impossible. Light bemool in terms of noise (fine cloisons, noisy toilet) but it remains really bearable. I think this hotel is very good for visiting Nice, spending those days in the sun or like in my case going to contests!

It's not the first time we've been there. We've been to Nice and the Côte d'Azur several times a year to find relatives and enjoy the place. On the last trip we were only three days there. Avoiding the obvious and the mass attractions, beautiful too but discounted. Looking for the traditions, the flavors of a really harmonious, cozy and gentle land. A little Liguria a little French (nothing to do with northern France) is worth going back and forth. The B&B is a decent solution, the gentle owners. The cost of living is not very far from ours and clearly very expensive in certain environments.

Touch and run on the Côte d'Azur

When we're in the room we feel like we're on a slope, floor not straight, toilet very very noisy and seeing that the partition with the room doesn't go to the ceiling, so noise boiling water (sani grinder) and something unusual they don't accept payment either by card or check only cash!!!

No point of interest!

We spent a long weekend at the Hancy Guesthouse, and the gentlemen who run the very nice facility and the cozy rooms, there's a kitchen and a fridge where you can possibly prepare something.
