Nice spacious guest room with a pleasant breakfast but not a very warm pool and poorly maintained outdoors. The reception was not the warmest.

Visiting the Clare

Very nice reception. The place is very pleasant and friendly. We had an excellent seafood tray. Very good breakfast. The room was very spacious, maybe a little dark. Lunch and bedding very nice. A little bit of cleaning.

Nice place to be

Stayed three relatively intensive days here, exploring this amazing oyster area, and it was a joy to come back here to this quiet but beautifully maintained gîte. A really nice welcoming couple make you feel at home. The rooms are generous in size and very comfortable, modern and tastefully furnished. There is a large swimming pool on the property and the gardens are nicely kept, In the morning a well-laden breakfast table greets you and nothing seems any problem for Nadine and Jean-François who knows everything there is to know about oyster production in the Marennes-Oléron area. Would love to come back some day!

Wonderful, relaxing spot!

Nice lodging, quiet, clean, well-maintained, welcoming reception, beautiful swimming pool, a very nice breakfast, perfect bed and laundry, host full of tips for exploring the country, in conclusion a nice stop in the heart of the marshes.

It's a nice place.

In the country of Marennes-Oléron, in the heart of the marshes of the Seudre, here is a very pleasant address. If the name makes you dream, the rooms too: independent, with a flat-footed terrace, they each occupy an old small sauna house, the whole being gathered around a beautiful flowery courtyard. Île de Ré, with room and living room, is our favorite: old barn where the drinking room remains, it adopts a contemporary style in grey and purple tones; the bathroom, in transparency, is of all beauty, with a douche in the basement and a bathtub on the ground floor. Île Madame, a little to the side, is a great place for her family to sit. A very pleasant house in the heart of the Seudre swamps

We booked this guest room and we were very pleased warmly welcomed by Nadine and an excellent dinner prepared by Mr. So friendly and the perfect quiet room a very beautiful garden really we enjoyed this house

A very nice address in Charente maritime

It's a lovely place, nice room, nice reception and a gargantuan breakfast, we strongly recommend. The owner waited for us because we arrived after dinner and she welcomed us gently.

Flawless

A very good stay in Charentes, a very pleasant place, a very warm welcome, a delicious meal prepared by the guests, which is not spoiled. I highly recommend this place where it is a good place to live in peace and quiet.

A beautiful discovery

The first problem we encountered was a notice on the gate saying that the logis was not open to guests until 5 pm, despite the booking confirmation saying that it was open from 4.30. The welcome, eventually, was quite warm, and our room was found to be comfortable and well equipped. The wifi did not work initially, and the TV offered no international channels.
The logis hovers on the line between shabby chic and scruffy, with the garden unfortunately falling into the scruffy category, with abandoned motorbikes under tarpaulings, and hoses left lying around to trip the unwary guest.
We had chosen the logis on the basis of its promise of delicious dinners, as both of us enjoy a glass of wine and don't want to drive  thereafter. Our first booked dinner was met with the dreaded French shrug and pout which means "No chance", and also discovered that many nearby restaurants were closed in the evening. We abandoned further dinners "en logis" on the basis that we needed to book elsewhere to survive.
Perhaps the greatest problem, unannounced  in print, press or person, was that the logis does not offer credit card payment. Fortunately I had chosen to pay the evening before our early departure, and as my credit card was refused, it necessitated a 45 minute round trip to find a cash point in a nearby town. Had this happened on the day of departure it would have been a major inconvenience as a precursor to a 7 hour drive back to Calais.
On a plus note, the bedding and towels were changed frequently and the room was kept spotlessly clean.
