It's a very hospitable place. The setting is very amazing. When I got there, there was a film crew doing a langerie commercial. It's all art nouveau. It's a shame we don't have an elevator, but taking that off, it was worth a lot.

It was legal.

I've been at this hotel for years, but I remember it was a simple hotel, no big luxuries, old and old, very well located.

Good location and cheap

We had discovered this small, original and very well located hotel in 2011, and I had posted then a great comment. We went back for Paques 2015, and there was dismay!!! Dirty, dusty room, bathroom/WC door not closing because the lock was missing (a big hole removed all privacy) Back to the hotel around 11:30 after dinner at the restaurant.

What a disappointment!!!

Myself and the other half stayed here for 4 nights for our first visit to paris. It is a 3 minute walk from the arc de triomphe and the major metro station 'Charles de Gaule - Etoile' offering rapid access to ever major attraction and the RER to disneyland.

The room was clean, tidy, and the bed was very very comfy. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels in the bathroom so thumbs up to houskeeping. 

The room was beautifully furnished. A junior suit (room 19 4th floor) We both loved the period style furniture. It made us feel like we were in the 1940's which for us was a good thing. It had lots of natural light from two windows and a balcony (shared) looking out on to the street below.

The bathroom had a nice hot powerful shower, large mirrors, hairdryer and soaps.

All members of staff were curtious/polite  and helpful. There were no language barriers and we were made to feel very welcome so would like to thank all staff.

As other reviews stated there is no elevator...we are both very fit so the spiral staircase up to the very top was no issue for us but if you can't walk up a couple flights of stairs look elsewhere and save your complaints for somewhere else. 

We cannot comment on food as we did not eat here. We were in paris for the first time so we ate in as many different cafes and restaurants as we could. Breakfast in a cafe by the seine was more appealing.

Other reviews complain about the shared balcony. We found it no problem. I was on it every morning and didn't see anyone else. Privacy was not an issue. If it was... the door locked and was secure and there were curtains to shut or even an electric shutter for paranoid folk.

Overall if you want a hotel that has unusual style and taste, has great location and wont break your budget or bank balance this hotel will suit you fine.

If you don't like stairs or want a modern furnished room look for somewhere else.

We will happily return here again in the future! 👍

Excellent Hotel Great Location 

I'm a little old-fashioned, at the check-in they show us a room with fallen napkin, we ask to change the room even higher but the hotel is full, the receptionist willingly agrees to change it with a little in better condition.

to be avoided

Single room on the 4th floor, 420 absolutely avoided dirty, poorly maintained, stains on the carpet and cigarette burns, toilets cleaned last year, no doubt... and paintings of windows largely cracked.

Some rooms are beautiful in the photos... others much less in reality.

This hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe, which means that the metro is also very close. The price is quite affordable for Parisian connections. It should be noted that there is no lift in the hotel, so the suitcases themselves need to be carried upwards. But this is a small handicap compared to the optimal location and the friendly facilities.

Affordable family hotel

I stayed there for a week. The decoration is certainly not modern, but original with its own charm. The price ratio is very good. I had a room on the fifth floor, which is not surprising, it's sporty, it was very comfortable. The breakfast is in the concept of a guest table, it's original, breakfast is right there, and it's not mandatory for those who want it. Finally, the staff is very welcoming and friendly, they bring you the answers to your questions, and they advise you on good neighborhood addresses. I recommend without hesitation.

Hotel well located but: - strong smell of moss in the room - 1 bulb out of 2 grills - bathroom door and toilet that doesn't close at all (super kills love) - small dej ok but not exceptional either - no elevator - friendly and helpful staff

It's in a good location, but...

I stayed at this hotel in Easter 2013. The location is excellent, a few minutes walk from the triumphal arch and the metro station. The furnishings are quite old, the rooms are tiny, but good as a starting point for exploring Paris, the price was good and we only needed to sleep. The receptionists speak only French and a little English, but in general they are not prone to dialogue. In any case they are kind.
