What a disappointment for this price!!! Theoretically everything is there but everything is degraded or not working. The photos date back to a time when this place was still intact. A dangerous place for children: a pool fence that doesn't close, unregulated grid height, bare electrical cables and unattractive electrical installation, broken bed feet and unrepaired chairs, unsecured swinging and ready to collapse, broken glass whose glass was on (and our children were crushing), an outdoor stairway with an unsecured staircase...everything in this house!!!

Glory of the Past

Big disappointment about our rental of the castle of the great vineyards which must have been beautiful some time ago but which is absolutely not maintained which is shameful given the high rental price. The benefits are not up to par, many things are broken: broken glass in the living room and the glass not picked up outside was found by our children! unusable WC in the DRC, broken bed, broken sink, swimming pool with unregulated barrier (too low, without closing), faulty swimming pool robot, broken/instable pool and covered with leaked nails, various rinses, poor drainage of toilets, vacuuming electricity, unsatisfactory green spaces.

Castle unmaintained, too expensive

We stayed a few days in this beautiful house with a swimming pool very nice home by the owner who is taking little care of his customers Quiet and rest at the program otherwise even if the house we liked it stays in its juice No air conditioning and electricity no standards...but it remains a nice place

Castle life

A mansion in the midst of the sautonne vineyards, large old-fashioned rooms, a warm welcome with sautonne tasting was almost perfect.

Almost perfect

We spent 2 nights there and we already want to go back but in summer to enjoy the pool and the outdoors;) The setting is great: if you like the castle atmosphere with old furniture and vineyards go there!!! Besides the welcome is very warm, the host very nice! He even offered us 2 glasses of wine for tasting.

I'm on top!

Bit late putting this up as my girlfriend and I stayed here last June. Without doubt one of the best places I have stayed in. Michel the owner could not have been nicer or any more helpful. Preignac is a quiant area and this idyllic chateau was a beautiful place to stay for a quiet few days. Rooms were big and comfortable, breakfast was lovely. Chateau is a close drive or cycle to local vineyards which is a must do. Will definitely be back.

Awesome

A real French Chateau! Vineyards, an old house with scattered steps, a fireplace in the room, wooden stalls and a very polite and pleasant host! We were given wine of our own making, offering a choice of white or red. The owner showed and told us what was needed, but did not abuse our attention. When we wanted to talk and learn something ourselves - he gladly answered all our questions. Parking on the premises is free.

It's a real shoe!

Based upon reviews and pictures we decided to stay there on vacation with friends. It is a nice and romantic manor house located in industrial area, close to busy road. Old, a little worn down, beds old, and rooms ( carpets, curtains) not well cleaned. Pictures at the website looked nice, but none of the facilities were available, and it was not possible to arrange winetasting. No aircondition. Wifi poor - probably because of recent storm.

We have just spent 3 nights there, and really enjoyed it.
Very warm welcome, attentive service, great location and very pleasant owner.
Good value overall.
Would definitely consider visiting again if in the area.

Lovely place, would go again.

The building is very old and in an excellent location surrounded by vineyards and located on the edge of Preignac village. If you approach Preignac from the Langon direction the Chateau is the first building on the left as you enter the village, it is not easy to identify as the hotel is set back about 100m from the road. If you approach from the opposite direction the entrance is immediately in front of the 70km speed limit sign on the right hand side of the road. There is a good restaurant in walking distance on the right as you leave the hotel.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, which we made good use of as the weather was excellent.  
The chateau advertises wifi but apart from our first day there it didn't work. The owner was away on business and his wife was left to run the hotel, which was quite busy and all rooms were occupied.  My wife had to ask for clean towels after four days and the room was only cleaned on the fourth day.  Apart from this the service was excellent.
Generally we enjoyed the location and the hotel.  We were there to attend a wedding and one of my brothers and his wife stayed the same hotel.  Cadillac, a thriving market town, is only 7 minutes drive from the chateau and we visited the market there on Saturday morning.
I would advise the use of a satnav, especially for the journey from the airport at Merignac.
