We were a family (2 adults and 2 children), and we liked the tranquility of the place. The rooms are really very spacious, and the breakfast is perfect. The couple is very kind and attentive that you do not miss anything. But also good advice for visiting the area. The proximity to Lascaux was our priority, we are only 10 minutes there. Sarlat is also quite easily accessible. In short, we strongly recommend, unless you are looking for a modern decor at all costs!

We went there as a couple one weekend in April, we were delighted with the welcome and service offered by the couple who ran the establishment. They are very welcoming and friendly and the room is impeccable. We advise and will return without hesitation.

We were delighted by the hospitality, kindness and professionalism of the landlord, and the room space, cleanliness and a quality breakfast with homemade jams and divine honey!

The guest rooms are impeccable, both the rooms and the bathrooms, all quiet; the reception makes you feel comfortable with the addition of house jams....which adds to the quality of the reception!

A friendly welcome and full of information for our stay!

We were greeted by Alain driving up in his tractor full of potatoes - much to the delight of the children and so yes definitely a working farmer.  The chambres d'hotes are located to the right of their home and he gave us two of the suites to accommodate our party of 4 adults and 2 children.  

His wife Evelyn we saw in the mornings at breakfast and I guess with her limited Englsh and our even worse French it was difficult to communicate.  Alain was the most hospitable host giving us suggestions and ideas of what we were hoping to accomplish in each day of our sightseeing.  The breakfasts were good, the fresh fruit was lovely (and on one morning strawberries) and the home-made jams from the fruits of their garden an absolute treat. We were there in autumn so Alain and Evelyn had fresh walnuts on a table complete with a nut-cracker - what a bonus - fresh cracked walnuts - superb.

We spent four lovely nights at this farmhouse - which was a good touring base for us.  It isn't in a town or village so you do need to travel out to find dinner - but to be staying here you would have your own car in any case.  

The suits were large, the beds were comfortable enough, the salle de bain smallish but adequate.  Our only complaint was that the suite only has one heater and with two bedrooms it meant one room was colder than the other - th is wasn't too bad if the person/s in the other bedroom didn't mind it being a bit cool.  The rooms are clean but the tiles can be a bit cold on the feet - but I always travel with slippers.

But other than that, I would highly recommend this place for a night for more to explore this area.

Quiet comfortable farmhouse in a picturesque countryside

It is a rather large family-run cottage. It is quite isolated and difficult to find because of the lack of directions. However, it is immersed in the green and is great for completely relaxing stays: you can walk around, there are other cottages and small villages in the vicinity. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the furnishings reflect the surrounding environment. The operators are handy and quite available, I say enough because it is often impossible to approach the entrance due to the large number of guard dogs, so they are inexperienced!

A good breakfast and a helpful owner however there were a few things lacking such as soap and shampoo which would have made life easier. It is not the easiest place to find even with the map the owner provided. We were placed in the family room which is an open basement with a tile floor making it somewhat cold. The bed was uncomfortable and we had a few unwanted guests such as a good sized spider who had made a home in the bed and a number of crickets. Something bit us during the night, enough to generate blood but we could not identify what it was even after removing all the bedding.

Nice farmhouse, friendly owner but lacks some items

For the location of the B&B: Larnaudie is an agglomeration of houses immersed in the green of the Perigord, so small that it is not even mentioned in the most detailed road maps of Michelin, but Alain will email you a drawing with precise indications. Strategic position to visit all the main attractions of the Perigord (prehistoric sites, caves, castles, historic cities, villages, basements, rivers, forests, countryside, churches and abbeys, etc.). The absolute tranquility of the ruinous area.
