The Chateau is quite beautiful but this is no luxurious stay. Despite it's price, one might have not expected a sachet of Maxwell House for the room coffee choice and an inaccessible plug socket. I have seen the owner defend any criticisms by declaring the property as 15th century but really that's a poor excuse for not updating the mod cons. The house is seeking to impress but with tired everything, is falling short. The bathrooms are tired and our room was very underwhelming. As a pit stop, it would do but it is comparatively very expensive and really not a destination hotel. Certainly not the Mr and Mrs Smith standard we have been used to.  The staff that we met were charming and hard working but the marketing photos are either dated or clever and we were not that taken with it. We wouldn't rush back.  

Don't go out of your way....

A charming, relaxed and slightly quirky place to stay.  We were in the datcha which was fun.  Segolene and Charles Henry were perfect hosts and made many suggestions of local places to visit during our stay.  The Perche region is beautiful and still relatively unknown.  Dinners in the atmospheric dining room were very good, and it is always nice to be offered second helpings!  Breakfast was also good with a wide selection of pastries, fruit, cheese and cereals.  The Chateau feels less like a hotel and is more similar to a private house - with an honesty bar

Charming place to stay

What a hidden gem!  Just returned after an offsite meeting.  We occupied 95% of the rooms and everything was perfect.  Great job by Segolene and her team, even meeting the dietary and food allergy restrictions .  Accommodations, food, drinks, meeting rooms all top notch.  A truly unique experience, executed flawlessly by this establishment.  Thank you!

This is your place…complete perfection!

Another excellent stay at the always luxurious Chateau St Paterne. We were returning from holiday, in which one of us had had an unfortunate accident a few days before. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful and considerate in their hospitable service to us.

A fascinating experience. The Chatelaine herself manages the venue which is everything you would expect in a period French Chateau. This is not a conventional modern hotel!, but is very enjoyable place to stay for a few nights.

We had the Tower room which is large and well appointed (however to be avoided if you can't cope with the 50 steps to get there)

We dined in the elegant dining room for one evening and out on the lawn for the second night, with pre-dinner drinks on the terrace. Each evening.

Everything was wonderful the setting, the meal, the breakfast, the room, the kindness of the staff really good! you brought us happiness!!!!! thank you so much We will be back!

Sublime

We really appreciated the warm service, the beauty of the castle and the estate, the very romantic candlestick dinner and our gorgeous Madame's room. Breakfast until 11:00 and check-out at 12:00 are very nice to take your time in the morning. The only improvement we think is breakfast, which we found a little expensive for what it was. Although we were not sure about the quality of the products, a little more choice and above all a hot option (at least eggs) would have been greatly appreciated. We will be back with pleasure!

A wonderful stay in St. Patern

An unparalleled experience, a warm welcome, the kindness of the owner and of Alima, the governess, is surprising and incredible. In this place full of history, through the centuries and having undergone many changes to achieve unparalleled comfort and charm. Papillae are not left aside and advises you to share in a beautiful dining room, lit with candle the dinner and breakfast or meals are prepared at the minute. An unforgettable stay between friends, which we will renew without a doubt!

A delightful parenthood

What a lovely stage! It's perfect: the welcome is warm and friendly, the setting is beautiful, the rooms are large and comfortable and the cuisine delicious. What more can you ask for... everything is perfect and tasteful. An address is not missing.

What a great stop.

We spent two nights in the chamber full of character and objects related to the history of the hotel as in all other rooms. Each room is elegant, special and unique. The services are excellent. It is worth having dinner at the hotel one evening with excellent food and attentive service. A place where I would definitely return precisely because I like the houses that have a history and the owners share it with kindness sympathy and extreme cooperation
