We had such a lovely time here. We arrived with our classic car on a trailer , we had flagged that my father was not the best trailer driver .. they did everything to help make maneuvering the car in as easy as possible. I travel a fair bit and this was definitely one of the finest I have stayed in. Our hosts chilled our bubbles, guided us on where to stay and made a fine breakfast, most sourced from their kitchen, garden or local village. 

The bedrooms are extremely spacious I slept like a log.

A very special place 

Fine old house, in its own secure grounds, located in a tiny village deep in the heart of picturesque Normandy.

Everything about this place looks pretty impressive via its own website or Trip Advisor, but once you get there it's even better.  In fact, it's hard to find any fault whatsoever as the beautiful restoration and quality interior decor exceeds any prior expectation.

We dealt direct with the owners to secure our reservation, and the exchange of communication was easy, friendly and quite favourable. They were just as charming in person and most visitors will have joined the Lesley fan club by the time they leave. She's a superb cook, a skilled chatelaine, and a fount of all local knowledge; very chic, too. And ably supported by raconteur and mine host, David.

We spent our few days resident in the separate self-contained apartment on the top floor and it really was a home from home. Big bedroom, large lounge, roomy bathroom, all lovely to be in and extremely comfortable with a high standard of decor and no expense spared equipment.

No problems foodwise here, either. Whether it's breakfast, hosted or informal evening meal then everything is restaurant standard and homemade with precision and care. Clearly, cooking is Lesley's passion and her guests are major beneficiaries. As for the dining room where all this goes on -it's splendid.  There are also plenty of good restaurants within driving distance, and Lesley is happy to make reservations on her guest's behalf.

Normandy beaches are about an hour's drive away, with a lot to see and do once you're there. There's also a lot of helpful information on hand at the Chateau, and via Lesley and David, to prioritise some decisions. 

If coming from the UK, the Chateau is best approached by Caen's port at Ouistreham. It's a long drag coming anywhere from the south, and the area is festooned with zealous speed cameras.  

Not that anything should deter potential visitors from arriving any way they choose. This place really can't be recommended highly enough.

Top notch

What a beautiful Chateau this was. Leslie and David were so lovely and very hospitable. The room was beautiful and lovingly designed you could tell a lot of thought had been given to the decor and it was very very clean. The food and the wine were top class. It was lovely to chat to them too and find out about their Story, very inspiring. I would recommend that if you are around this area you stay here as you wont be disappointed. Breakfast had everything you wanted and more, it was all fresh and beautifully laid out. Would love to go back.

Definitely the highlight of our 12 day tour of northern France. Truly delightful accommodation, wonderful friendly and entertaining hosts and food of the highest quality. The rooms were beautiful with tasteful decorations and so comfortable and clean. The whole Château has been restored with wonderful detail and a truly stunning place. Lesley and David are delightful hosts who join you for dinner on at least one occasion and great company. Lesley is a marvellous chef and our dinners were divine on both evenings. The four course dinner almost had us beaten but it was so delicious we had to eat everything! 
Breakfast is so fresh, organic and mostly homemade even the yoghurt! If you’re in the region go there you will not be disappointed. We stayed at various places and this was by far the best. 

Wow!

The chateau is beautiful and has been restored very sympathetically and makes for a wonderful stay. Everywhere is immaculate.  So much thought and detail has gone into making it a 5* place to stay. Everywhere is so interesting,inviting and immaculate. David and Leslie were lovely hosts and recommended places to visit, providing laminated sheets with clear instructions and maps. The breakfast was a delight, with continental meats and cheese, fresh fruit, home made jams and fresh eggs. 
We booked a full 4 course evening meal and a three course. All lovely. If you are looking for a unique, quiet place to stay, with great hospitality, I would strongly recommend.

Rare find. Fabulous place to stay.

We can highly recommend a stay here. Lesley & David have lovingly restored this beautiful Chateau over 17 years. We had not visited this part of Normandy before, & the scenery and views were stunning. Lesley persuaded us to stay for 4 nights with a special room/price offer, and cooked us a superb gourmet dinner on our last evening. Apart for a minor niggle with the wifi, we couldn't fault anything. Thank you both for looking after us, and making our stay so enjoyable.

Highly recommend

We spent three good days at Castle La Cour, and it was exactly what we expected. One negative point was the 70 euros that were added to our bill for cancelling our dinner the night we arrived which, I would add, was due to our 3.5 hour delayed flight and the fact that we had been unable to find a taxi and frankly we didn't think about sitting down to eat after travelling for more than 12 hours from the Middle East. I found Lesley and David greedy to charge us 70 euros. Their excuse was that they had bought the food. I don't know where the salmon costs, we didn't have to pay for it either. So I wouldn't recommend going back to another place if it were me, but I wouldn't recommend going back to the same place.
