Our horse, a long way off, rested the evening (thank you first hostess) and then another in the security room next to the guest room. But at the second morning, the tenants of the move, shouted against the bold because the security although included in the rental was not allowed, contrary to the description, only to the second owner absent the first night. Neither one nor (neither!) the horse had to leave and we two had to go, empty stomach, breakfast elsewhere. It is not Ulysses who wants to eat.

The Trojan Horse Is Banned

It's a wonderful, authentic family guesthouse, perfectly situated, a dream stage and a fabulous welcome, like a cocoon, my rooms are spacious and comfortable, and my breakfast is delicious, and we highly recommend this stage and will return to it on occasion.

Ideal step near Troyes

Occupying a red-brick villa dating from 1890, this picturesque Bed & Breakfast, with free parking ) is a ten-minute walk from the city centre, one kilometer from the Troyes Museum of Modern Art and fourteen kilometres from the East Forest Regional Natural Park. The reception was perfect. I enjoyed my air-conditioned room, it was spacious, very well decorated, modern (with free Wi-Fi access) and a flat-screen TV, a minibar; the bathroom was large and beautiful and very serving.

An Extremely Good Bond

The gîte n°5 is in fact just an old, renovated shop facing the bourgeois house that serves as a publicity for the place. We are sold from the dream... feeling choked because there is no possibility of opening any window, street noise, poor hygiene (not cleaned floor, hair in bed, dirty toilet...), TV that does not work, etc... The owner is also unpleasant and bad faith. This address is really to be avoided.

Very disappointing!!!

We have just spent one night in room 5 the gîte which is an old shop set up in a guest room. No ventilation, it is not possible to open the windows since they are windows, the door looks directly to the street. The plinth, the uncleaned toilet basin (with stool traces). When booking, we had asked the owner what are the recommended hygiene standards for the guest rooms in these times of covid 19, she had told us there a lot of time, that everything was perfectly spent!!!! TV does not work. We politely called the owner to inform him of our discomfort, he hung us in the room. This room is taken back to the room without a nose charm... it was very discounted considering the rate applied.

The main photo on the listing is a true picture of where we stayed.  Madam speaks very little English so my improving school girl French certainly got a work out.  We were offered one room but advised that as we were the first to arrive we could pick.  The original room allocated was spacious but the bathroom was a cubicle in the room.  The other room was equally spacious and the bathroom was the room next door so we chose that but it was on the top floor so an extra set of stairs.
Madam was very helpful in providing a map and directions and suggestions on where to eat and it certainly is very close to the old quarter.
WIFI is available but a tad slow (but that's ok) and certainly the room was very comfortable and warm.  Parking is in the front yard, locked away from the street so very safe.
Breakfast baking awoke us and we had a delicious french breakfast of yoghurt, pastries and breads and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.  Lovely.
A very pleasant stay.

Charming original house close to the centre

A very quirky b&b with very friendly owners, we had the top room with open plan shower cubicle and sink within the room, clean with a comfy bed, off road parking which for us was great as we had all Christmas goods in the boot.

A stop off on the way to chamonix 

Nice old building (yes, also old inside, but with flair) with nice hosts and walking to all the sights. Parking on the street unproblematic. Unfortunately no climate, and outside at night noisy by young people on the street. Breakfast for French conditions in order, positively the homemade jam.

Charming neighborhoods

This beautiful cozy, bourgeois house in the style of Napoleon III and beautifully decorated by the owner (87 years old, hat and respect) is located in a quiet neighborhood 900 m from the city center. The furniture is old-fashioned, but everything is flowery and colorful, which gives the decoration a bit of a party feel. I had a problem for a second room (which I thought I had booked) but kindly the hostess found a solution for me at a friend's house. The breakfast was nice and tasty. Attending a congress, I couldn't stay as long as I would have wished. I will definitely return.

A lovely address for a honeymoon in a house belonging to Napoleon III.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience a L'Ambroise is one I'd like to help others avoid having. I booked for myself and family, and when we arrived we were told that we were not staying in the main house, and led to an estate agents office over the road which they covered into a 'suite'. Images of this were not posted on their Expedia listing. I'l let the pictures do the talking. There was a sofa bed, which when I asked about the linen, they said the bed had already been made up - which it had been, but also slept on and there was all manner of unpleasant hairs and stains (I'll save you the nastiness of the photo!)  I can guarantee that the owner will reply to this in his usual inimitable manner - rude, unapologetic and completely misleading. We booked through Expedia (where no images of the 'Family room' were posted) and they were so unimpressed, by both the accommodation and the owner's subsequent, rude and threatening emails they they provided a full refund.
