We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Werratal... the rooms are cozy and beautiful. The breakfast is delicious, rich and made with a lot of love... everything is fresh and really good. Everyone we met was especially friendly and kind. I highly recommend!

A relaxing time in a special environment

The hotel is right in the central square of Allendorf. We walked up from the fishing town, so from the top of the mountain - better it can't be - it looked so inviting. Reception is operated from the restaurant Pelikan in the same house. Super loving greeting, including our big dog. 20m from the entrance to the rooms, no elevator (but who cares if you've hiked several hundred meters during the day). Then a beautiful room with a top bed and a big bath. No air conditioning, so on very hot days it's problematic, not with us 😊.

Best night of the week

Right on the market square a nice hotel simple rooms, bright colors, as a city tourist you're no longer expected, breakfast was great, reception and service very friendly, street relatively quiet at night. No parking.

Good hotel in a cozy city

I spent one night in the dependency of the Hotel Verratal (Krone) and I really can't say that I slept well. It's an old workshop house, which is absolutely fine. But it needed to be modernised urgently inside. The staircase house is very dark, the room is unpleasant and furnished with the simplest furniture. The bathroom has a simple plastic shower that almost falls apart. From the room you can see the backyard and the roofs of the side buildings. On the ground floor there is a counseling center and on the floors there are communal rooms. For what was seen, the overnight is far too expensive.

Poor sleep

Unfortunately, the first impression is more promising than the hotel holds, to the room you have to climb two steps through an old staircase house with Terazzo floors, our room was very small and dark painted, the bathroom was a hose, everything very tight, plus there were no towels and the TV was not running, of course no one was at the reception, just around, an absolute cleanup...

Not recommended

At the beginning of the year, I stayed at the Hotel Werratal and was thrilled. Especially the breakfast buffet - for me the most important meal - was rich and varied, I lacked absolutely nothing. Of yogurt, fruit, sausage, cheese, salmon and eggs fried to taste! The rooms are comfortable and the size is sufficient. Everything fits perfectly with the hotel, flair and location. The head of the house was also very warm and hospitable!

Best location and beautiful rooms

We spent two nights at the Hotel Werratal in January and can definitely recommend it.' The location right on the market square is perfect and the beautiful rooms create a great atmosphere. Even the breakfast buffet leaves no wishes open. Finally, we had dinner both nights at our own restaurant and were thrilled! It is definitely worth more than a visit!

We have stayed at this hotel four times already and can definitely recommend it further. We like the central location of the market square, in the middle of the picturesque and historic old town in the district of Allendorf. The rooms are spacious and clean, some almost the same as small apartments. The check-in and check-out was quick and smooth each time. Breakfast is at the bottom in the cozy restaurant. The staff is always friendly and hospitable. Also a visit to the Council Chamber and to Rothestein Castle (restauration is always in the hands of the hotel tenant) are highly recommended.
