The shared rooms have a private bathroom and doors directly to the street, are in good condition and have individual locker rooms. Not all beds have connectors in the basement, as do the hostels I have visited, they usually have a connector nearby but in a shared room you prefer your own rinconcito. The room was a bit dirty, but that also depends on the roommates. It also has a shared kitchen in some good condition. And in the accommodation bar you can eat well. According to our comments, rooms are occupied to provoke altered housing, the government pays a little for them. We stayed one night and the hotel is very convenient, but we may have a very nice situation.

Good service.

They charge for everything, so it is too expensive for the facilities that they provide. Obviously, the owner wants money and doesn't invest in the hostel. Beds are the worst.
Not recommendable at all.

Too expensive for what you get

Absolutely amazing hostel! We stayed here for about a week after just returning from southeast Asia. We weren't expecting much from the negative reviews and it being in Europe, but we were plesently surprised. Rooms were nice with the softest beds ever. The staff were great, the hostel is run by a lovely lady and her funny kiwi husband, however one bald member of staff with no relevency has some sort of superiority complex and is just rude. It is a very unique hostel with the rooms along the street; although there are trams going through the street and sometimes can be quite noisy I definitely would recommend this place. It is perfectly located and you can get into town very easily via walking or metro.

This hostel rules

The friendly staff, but not what appears in the photos or the location.It is located 40 minutes from downtown by metro or tram.We were charged 4€ for the change of sheets and never changed them any day (we stayed 3 nights).The price of the coffee each day is different, up to 2€.

It's not like it's in the photos.

Myself and 4 friends stayed in the 5 bed mixed dorm. The door which went directly out to the street did not lock, so we had to lock it from the inside so it became unusable. Toilets also flooded and weren't cleaned until early in the morning, so were never pretty. WiFi is good, kitchen is usable but fridge is too small and no freezer (don't buy ice cream). Location is good, but it's not fun having to walk through the cafe to get to our room. Would recommend to people looking for a cheap place in the middle of Berlin. 

Poorly kept

My boyfriend and I escaped to Berlin for a week and stayed here. We weren't very sure at first but it was a great idea. The staff is nice, the rooms are much more cozy than they may seem at first and the guests are mostly very educated. As a advice I would say that if you stay, try to go to the common kitchen and spend some time there. It's mediocrely clean and the guests socialize there, we meet people from Bangladesh, Australia, Italy, Portugal, Scotland... Ah, by the way, the language is not a problem, the staff speaks English (including those who know, understand and somewhat less than speak), so no problem!

Cheap and convenient for young people.

This is my sixth time in Berlin, and this is my sixth time at the Schlafmeile! Prices are really affordable. As for the rooms, it's not the big luxury but for 11€ at night it's perfectly fine. The girls' toilets are always clean. There's a big kitchen with everything you need, and recently there's free wifi in the kitchen! :) :) The bar next door is very nice! Special mention to their Sandwich Club <3

Hostel at the top!

The price is affordable and the neighborhood is great, plus the hostel is next to the Supamolly:) But the rooms are hard to ventilate... Plus, the doors and the street, and for two nights the room service was passing through our room to access the hostel, something a little strange.

Best of all, the location.

Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights in November. We stayed in a private room with shared bathroom which was basic but clean and tidy. Staff at schlafmeile were great, very friendly and helpful. The place is on a good location with a supermarket, train stations and several restaurants and bars nearby. We ate at Lindsays a few times; great food and beer, and not expensive. Would definitely recommend as a good base to explore the city for travellers on a tight budget.

Very good base for visiting Berlin

Hotel perfectly located for going out and visiting Berlin, has a kitchen, a pleasant and warm reception room where you can eat in the morning (excellent breakfast) / noon / evening and have a drink at low prices. The rooms are correct. The staff is very welcoming, available, very good advice if you want to go out or discover places a little outside the main tourist places. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was joyful and all the inhabitants would get along well like a small family. Recommendation for young people looking for travel
