We ate at the restaurant, four of us, and we were all very satisfied. The meat was tender and the salad tasted good. My daily dish, ribs, was juicy and fleshy, easily dissolvable from the bone, just delicious - just like you get it in the US but not in Germany. Service pleasantly friendly and attentive.

Secret tip when it's supposed to be delicious

We were there for dinner (no guests at the hotel). We both had the vegetable curry. It was very tasty. There was another salad in front. It was crispy and fresh. The dressing tasted good. The service was attentive and friendly.

From the outside, it looks nice. The rooms are small, noisy and bright. Unfortunately not clean!!! Small shower with a shower curtain (!) from this one, when I was showering, I met a spider from their net. 70s style. Breakfast very very spartan. Price/performance doesn't fit. For 100,00 € per night too expensive!

Noisy and not clean

This is a very layered hotel with 350 years of family tradition. This is also noticed as a guest in a positive sense. Everywhere reminds of a photo of the hotel and restaurants from long ago. I would like to highlight in particular the friendly people who welcomed us as guests in the hotel and served us breakfast. We were absolutely satisfied with the spacious room, the perfect cleanliness in the modern bathroom and bedroom. The only tiny manko is the sounds of the street and the railway, which can be reduced directly by the earplugs provided by the hotel. But it is also the huge parking lot directly behind the hotel.

Central location, very friendly service, good prices

My family and I lived in Marburg a few years ago and decided to book a nostalgic short vacation. For this purpose we decided on the estate of Orthwein - and we do not regret it. From breakfast to the rare German cuisine, we have been given culinary attention. Friendly hosts and pleasant ambience rounded off the holiday. With enough room for all events, you can also rent the premises with up to 120 people for a very reasonable fee.

Short vacation in the former residence

Situated in a village o half-timbered houses, it is between the main road and railway line. It can be noisey if you have to have the windows open as I did as it was very hot and no air con. The hotel is about 300m from the railway station. The bedrooms are modern and quite spacious, for a single. The restaurant is very good with a typical German cuisine. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Nice village Inn

As a couple, we were more than satisfied.Marburg to the city centre was a quick drive.I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the room.Picobello clean!Although we were only there for two nights, fresh towels and bathroom supplies were given every day.The staff were very friendly and kind.If I were the owner, I would probably only accept cash.Somewhere else too, and I find everything in order.The food in the restaurant was very delicious.The coffee in the morning was excellent and the breakfast buffet was perfectly sufficient.

Every time again

I booked professionally, because of my employer's small budget and because I think it's okay in itself, booked directly, not through HRS etc. I had to cancel almost a week before because the appointment didn't happen, then was referred to the small printed with 80 percent cancellation fees if they can't rent otherwise. Then found the room for about 500 (!) euros in HRS and had to pay fatly, although I asked for vouchers etc.... Bitter experience - does not feel much like a new try:

Like the Family

I've been here privately during a multi-day bike tour, great service and breakfast. Very comfortable and clean rooms. There were also no problems when checking out and everything was handled as discussed before when booking. The wheat beer tastes great too.
