Unfortunately, I found hair and brown spots on my bed sheet, dustbusting is also a foreign word, and at its peak, there were a few spots in the bathroom... it's unbearably warm in this hotel and the rooms are really small...

I will not stay here again and I do not understand how the positive recessions came about.

This location is very central, but also at a vicious traffic junction. Our room was fronted, so very noisy. Also, right outside the window are street lamps, which burn all night and the curtains are not glazed, so very bright. We had an old kitchen in an outdoor room!? The beds were OK and the bathroom too. Everything clean, but everything in general is not the first choice.

Not really recommended

The hotel is located on a busy road, which makes it very noisy. The room I got had a refurbishment facility. The hotel is not suitable for disabled people because the elevator does not fit on the floor of the room. Since I was traveling with a trailer, I had trouble finding a parking space near the hotel.

Urban flair

My parents stayed three nights at the hotel. Both are handicapped. The rooms are flawless, large and clean, a nice big bathroom. Good beds. The house has an elevator, but it only goes to the middle floor, so you have to go up five floors. It is recommended that the rooms to the garden go out to the back. Leidr does not have air conditioning.

Nice rooms, very good service

The hotel is located on a busy road so it is very noisy. The room was large and as far as ok but has its best times behind it. Unfortunately the breakfast is very clear. Some guests were offered fresh egg dishes, not me. The cooked eggs at the buffet were cold because there was no heat option there. Yoghurts, on the other hand, were warm because they were not chilled. The attached restaurant (brewhouse) is close to the mediocrity of the hotel.

Okay, but there are better ones.

SIxteen of us arrived for Carnival in February.  We have been before, but stayed in Monheim.  We were greeted by the owner, Christian who made us feel very welcome.  we were very pleased by the size and cleanliness of the rooms and we were all very comfortable.  breakfast is a continental breakfast with eggs cooked to order.  Everything was fresh and tasty.  Christian is a hands on boss who served us and ensured we had everything we needed.  Tea and coffe refills were continuous.  The attached bar serves great food.  We had a wonderful time and have already booked for next year

Comfortable workplace, clean room, comfortable with a super bathroom, friendly and available staff, plenty of breakfast and variety, hotel restaurant all but despicable, half an hour from Cologne.

That's great.

The staff is very friendly, the room and bathroom are very clean, the facilities are convenient and the equipment very good, breakfast is sufficient and fresh, the location and the price/performance ratio are excellent.

It's cheap and good.

Stayed 4 nights on business, utilized room and breakfast only

Room- good beds but pillow a bit soft, upon request, was given additional pillow and blanket :), included shampoo/body wash, and also hairdryer. Did not use the TV. No toothbrush/comb etc, so remember to bring your own.

Parking- parking is limited at hotel area but could park on roadside for free. It was sometimes difficult to get a parking near to hotel. It was pretty cold so would have appreciated more parking lots (in the basement garage?)

Wifi- easy to get on and is free. Sometimes a bit slow if streaming videos

Breakfast- limited choices but they do prepare freshly brewed coffee and tea (unfortunately there was no English breakfast when I was there, so bring your own :). They also have choice of eggs.

Location- many restaurants nearby as well as supermarket opposite

Overall the real difference in this hotel is the owner who is a really service orientated nice guy who speaks good English! Area to improve would be the breakfast and also to teach the rest of staff to be similarly arrive orientated!! 

I will return.



Surpassed service expectation 

Smack between Cologne and Duesseldorf lies Langenfeld, just an half  hour "S-Bahn" ride away from those two major cities. We enjoy staying here as it has a nice shopping street, good restaurants, most likely something going on weekends, and we can hop on the train and go to Cologne for the day but don't have to stay in the tourist packed place. We had a pleasant  three days stay at the "Hotel Am Berliner Platz" right at the intersection of Hauptstrasse and Koelner Strasse. The beds were comfortable so we slept well - which is the most important thing after cleaniness for us.
The breakfast buffet upstairs was good; the staff at the tiny reception very friendly and extremely helpful. Parking seems a bit difficult to find (it's actually a secure garage under the hotel). The adjacent restaurant is well worth a try for authentic regional meals.
