We arrived at 9pm at night with two small children. Despite calling the host the day before to remind him we were coming when we arrived he said he had ‘forgotten’ and the room wasn’t ready as it was still being cleaned. 

We asked to see the room and it was in a different apartment a few doors away. The pictures were nothing like what we’d booked as it was a different building. The room floor was filthy and being cleaned. It looked like it had been empty for many months. The towels were thin and curtains shabby. 

My mother said to the owner she was worried about the cleanliness and the male owner started screaming at my 72 year old disabled mother and children in a very threatening way. He told us to go, we werent welcome there and pushed us out the door. I wanted to call the police it was so bad but my mother said we should just get away. 

We were stranded with two small children in the middle of the night. Fortunately we found a fabulous apartment on the same road. It was more expensive but then you get what you pay for. This owner told us they regularly get families like ours late at night from him as he overbooks or is rude. We were told this is more like an apartment for temporary workers in the area. 

His temper scared me. There was me, my mom and two sons - no men with us and the way he screamed at women was a disgrace. I would never recommend him or his hotel. Don’t come here unless you’re willing to look round for alternative accommodation last minute.

Stay here at your peril.

I was due to stay here for 2 nights. I had booked 3 months in advance. The hotel had confirmed my booking, and also confirmed my check-in time of between 1400-1500. I arrived at 1430. On arrival, I was told that the hotel was full and that my booking was now cancelled, even though I had confirmation. There was a slight language barrier as I speak very little german, and the guy at reception spoke very little english. However, I think he tried to explain that I could have the room for 300 euros a night. I had booked it for 49 euros a night. Apparently, there was a motorbike event nearby, and they could get a lot more for the room than my booking was for. After some disagreement, he rang several other hotels and found me one about 1 mile away, which was 69 euros a night. I had no other option but to take this. He told me to ring him the next morning and he may have a room available (for 49 euros!) for my second night. I called in the morning and after 5 calls, my call was finally answered. As soon as I said my name, he hung up. I tried another 2 times, but the phone went straight to voicemail. I stayed at the alternative hotel for a second night. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world, and have never been treated this way before. I found it absolutely disgusting to be treated like this. Please beware of this hotel.

Disgraceful Hotel

Absolutely not recommended. We had reserved several rooms / holiday apartments for our guests. We were on site in advance, clarified all the details with the owner, exchanged emails and had telephone contact in the meantime. Even six days before our wedding we spoke with the owner on the phone and confirmed everything again. On the day of our wedding, at the agreed time, no one was at the guesthouse. After several calls from our guests, the owner surfaced, told us completely false, allegedly agreed with us, was disrespectful and canceled, finally, all of our rooms were booked out of nowhere and confiscated from the most unfortunate premises.

It's not possible, not recommended.

Unfortunately, we can't distribute 0 stars. We couldn't give more because the accommodation was cancelled in an unfriendly way that had never happened before. As a wedding company we had booked several rooms and you can imagine what it means to be thrown out of the door by the owner an hour before the wedding. We couldn't find any reason why he was so shy, distant and unprofessional to us. Later we learned that it has happened many times that the owner of wedding companies turned the accommodation for short periods of time without reason.

Incredible Pride

Due to a family party, we booked the boarding house (2 families). Despite the high booking rate at the moment, everyone was friendly and helpful. Absolutely family friendly. The rooms are large with their own bathroom and kitchen. Everything is clean and murky. There was also nothing to eat for breakfast. We will book the boarding house again next time. It's just great!!

It's great!

Hey, we had the big fevo with access to the roof terrace, giant view over Reichenbach, just wonderful. It all fit. The breakfast lovingly and abundantly!! to highly recommend.

Meetings on holidays

We had a small holiday apartment. Not first class, but it was functional. In the large bedroom, the windows were not well darkened, which is a problem in a corner room right at a crossroads. But the beds were all very good and we could sleep well accordingly. Any issues of cleanliness that were mentioned were immediately eliminated, which could be improved in advance. The handling was familiar and friendly. Breakfast was great and everything you could wish for was there. Unfortunately, our signals that W-Lan didn't go for three days were ignored. Not at all, especially when puppies are with us. But overall the stay was nice and we were happy to come back.

All relatively

The rather negative reviews of the last few days have led me to my second report on this house. I have come to Reichenbach several times in the last few years, this 3x, once I stayed elsewhere - otherwise there is only this house for me, next year at least 2x again! Small weaknesses make everything even more human. As for breakfast: the buffet is one of the best I know for such a price. The same goes for the rooms. In conclusion: it is not a re-styled chain hotel but a unique institution in this region!

For the tenth time

In January 2017, we were invited to a family party there. The premises told us to ask questions about the conditions for a planned round birthday party in September. The owner, apparently a friendly person, discussed with us the details and after we informed him of the estimated number of guests, Müller's Bakstube event café. In January 2017, we were invited to a family party there and the premises were reopened.

What drives an entrepreneur in wetland, or is it all just a hoax?

It's the second time I've stayed and I've booked it again for next year. It's located in the center, whether it's by train or car, very easy to get to.
