The hotel has apparently been sold. The good reviews are probably from the time of the previous owners. Of the staff hardly anyone spoke German or English. Not even words such as plate or cup were known. Skimmy jam on the breakfast buffet was cleared after complaint and then the same glass was put back 5 minutes later. The rooms were not cleaned. The photos also do not show the rooms in the basement. Furnished furniture from the 80s. TV had no reception. Prices for this service were exceeded. Also the restaurant is a disaster. Rosemary carrot. by rosemary.s and meat fries. Grills were burned. Meat was burned. At every restaurant without advertisements there was no laugh or meat was burned. There was something wrong about the flavorings of spanking.

Never again!

This hotel is truly a wonderful place to spend a night or a week . The family owned facility is just perfect . Along the bicycle trail with great secure inside parking for the bicycles. The staff is really friendly and very helpful . There are two Chefs - one is Michael and the other’s name is ?? . Both are not only very good cooks but are excellent conversationalists and full of all kinds of historic information . 
The room was superb - we stayed in room #2 . All kinds of special decor and great yellow duvets. Bathroom was exceptionally clean and had toiletries. 
The food at the on-site restaurant was wonderful . A eclectic menu with Ukrainian Soups , German , Italian choices plus others . Price point was reasonable. The breakfast was also quite good . 
Met the owners the next morning and could tell that they had great pride in their hotel and wanted very much to please their hotel guests .

Absolutely Great Hotel/Restaurant in Weißen / Uhlstädt

A nice little country hotel with beautifully furnished rooms, a lavish breakfast buffet, a very nice beer garden in the courtyard. The restaurant offers super-class international cuisine. Free parking is also available.

Nice little country hotel.

We felt very cared for here during our bike tour. Despite Corona, the hosts were very concerned about our physical well-being: a good dinner and a very tasty, rich breakfast. Nice, clean rooms for our entire bicycle crew.

Kleinod with nice hosts

We were there on an excursion with our old cars. The owner welcomed us right away with garage keys, so that our little ones were well and safely stored. The room was very nice and functional. Finally a bathroom with proper lighting. The menu offers something for everyone and special requests are also pleased to be fulfilled. It is preferable to work with local suppliers. The quality of the products used is particularly valued. In conclusion: highly recommended house with too friendly and very friendly staff. We were very satisfied!

Too's house is out of the way

Saturdays are spontaneous for dinner. Prices are slightly too high for locality and quality. The food is delicious, but from the start it is expansive. Salad additive in the glass for the vegetarian dish is nice, but the top part drowns in the dressing, the bottom part is dry. For the meat dish with potatoes, a little salad would not be bad in this regard. The greeting from the kitchen is also good, but if I order a vegetarian dish first and then get Cevapcici salad, it's a little senseless;)

This hotel was clean and very well run. The family who owns it is very present and warm. We had a small problem with our bathroom at 1130 pm and the owner repaired it right away.
The food breakfast and dinner were outstanding. Drinks fairly priced.  Well equipped fitness center. A great stay!

2 day visit

A charming, traditional hotel in the countryside surrounded by beautiful, rustic, rural scenery. Comfy rooms, good, reasonably priced dinners. Anne, who worked there managing the office and as a waitperson on the weekend was very nice and friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was very good. We would choose this hotel again.

Recomnended

Kainshof is one of the better places close to Rudolstadt. If you like to relax peacefully and enjoy healthy and regional food it the place to go. It ist family owned and run high standard. It has ***+ stars. The restaurant  is using sesonal and regional ingredients and transfers them into very nice meals.

Lay back and enjoy

I've stayed at Kainshof for a couple of days in March. The rooms are nice, there was a desk useful to work, comfortable bed and during the night the hotel is really quiet and you could have a good sleep.
Every night I had dinner at the restaurant and the food is wonderful.
Great place to stay if you need to work around the area.
