You probably will not find it, if you don't explicitly look for it, or have family or friends recommending it. It's a typical Franconian "Landgasthof" (restaurant in the countryside) in a small village close to Würzburg and Kitzingen, in the region of Ochsenfurt and Markbreit. Very close to the A7 motorway from Würzburg to Rothenburg.

We were there with the larger family for a late Christmas dinner on a Sunday. There were quite some guests, probably more than the inhabitants of this village (just kidding!). The service was very attentive, but decent - typically for a family-run business. The meals (at lunch time) were absolutely fine, whatever we chose. A clear recommendation! The sole thing I was missing was the typical Franconian "Schäuferle" (a roasted pork shoulder with the typical dumblings "Klöss" oder "Knödel").

Nice and cosy restaurant "in the wild"

This is a low priced hotel.  It has recently been renovated, but apparently on a low budget.  Take the bathroom.  The shower door handles fell off.  The shower doors leaked so badly that you could see the water flow across the bathroom floor.
The hallways are like a rabbit warren, winding through three buildings.  
The breakfast was basic and the quality average.
In addition, we ate dinner at the Grüner Baum.  It was basic, ample but undistinguished.

You Get What You Pay For!

In this beautiful environment you will find this hotel in the small village of Werbach. It is a simple hotel with simple rooms where the price is right. The rooms are large and quiet. Unfortunately the Internet was bad and the TV was old. So early to bed. Breakfast also simple but good. Overall judgment a 7.

Simple but good

In a house that was invisible from the outside, we slept well and ate well. The house is a little crooked because the hotel is spread over several adjacent houses. We slept well in a new part of the hotel. The hotel was hardly recognizable from the outside. If we hadn't booked in advance, we would certainly have passed by. We could park our motorcycles for free in a locked courtyard. We had lunch in the garden of the slopes. The food was very good. The breakfast was all in a smaller breakfast room in the older building. Here too. The staff and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We will be back when we get back to the tavern, all equipped in one night.

Sleep well, eat well.

Chose this place cause it's off the beaten path in Gamberg and near where my family is from.  Place has a great history, about which you can read on the wall.  Rooms are old and new.  We had a balcony facing up into the hills in very modern room 34. Spotlessly clean and modern bathroom.  Attached restaurant has good food and many great beer and wine samples, of which we tasted several. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.  This is a great base for visiting the towns of Wurzburg, tauberbishofsheiim, and even rothenburg. Only here for 2 nights; next time would make it my home base for visiting other sights in the area. Definitely an American-free zone, which is hard to find these days. Too bad the constant rain kept us from enjoying the biergarten...but it tasted just as good in the restaurant!

Quiet place with great biergarten

From the outside, the guesthouse does not look very inviting. My room surprised me very positively. Behind the facade is a large and well-maintained new building. I can only judge the rooms in the new building - there are also guest rooms in the old building. The equipment is simple, but practical and tidy. I got a double room for single use and had plenty of space. The bathroom (with shower) was also pleasantly furnished and sized. You can also use as a guest the beautiful large garden. The corner, so 2 minutes away, is the guesthouse, where you can drive from the old buildings in the city of Biernbach - in the summer the greenhouse is very nice to eat and have plenty of space. This is also a nice place to eat.
