Incredible menu for one day of the week (Wednesday), very nice staff, both menus we chose were utterly delicious, rich and lovingly made. And that for a cheap price! This restaurant was the absolute highlight of our bike tour and a real glimpse of light in these sad corona times!

Lunch on a bicycle tour

We spent 6 days in this hotel due to visiting family in the area.  It was my husband, my son and myself.  We were supposed to get a 3 beds room but since they made a mistake we got 2 rooms, one with double bed and one with single bed, for the same price.  The room was clean, the bathroom very small with only a shower.  What struck me was that they don't use a flat sheet on the bed, just a fitted sheet and comforters with duvet.  The staff was very nice and polite even if we didn't understand each other, except for one personnel, everyone else only spoke German.  We had breakfast every morning, the breakfast was pretty good.  They have a very big restaurant, very clean and very appealing to the eye as for decorations and flowers.  Over all we liked the place.

Very traditional hotel for the area

The furnishings are old and decayed. The rooms look worn out and not inviting. The bathroom was extremely narrow and even older in construction years. The furniture had its best time already 20 years ago. The whole thing would still be portable if the price were at 30 euros...

It's an overpriced hotel, very old.

Very nice, comfortable and above all clean hotel in the heart of Zell. Great location to sleep, dine in the great restaurant and wake up with a delicious breakfast.

Good accommodation

We spent four days in a cell in the Wiesenthal to explore the southern Black Forest by public transport. The ticket for free travel throughout the Black Forest is available only on request. Rooms are simple and clean. Unfortunately, we didn't have any wire in the room the whole time; only the guest room and the room soup were available. Breakfast is rich and very good. Desserts are excellent. If you want to stay for several days, you should book a half-pension. The boss is set up and the staff is super friendly.

Simple hotel, family run, breakfast and dinner perfect.

The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast offers a wide selection of dining options. Rooms to the street are a little noisy but still tolerable. Aldi and Edeka are only four minutes away. Free WiFi is offered. A bit cumbersome because you have to register with your mobile phone.

Clean rooms, good price/performance

The rooms at the hotel are very simple but for the price is perfectly OK. The dining in the restaurant is OK but the menu is relatively small and is shortened even further by exotics like Lama. So I can't report high cooking now, but it's quite acceptable for the place.

It's okay for a small place.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, even if we had some wear and tear. But the staff were very attentive and friendly, the breakfast was rich and the price of a double room was a bargain. A hotel stay is always worth it, even if a short drive is necessary, because of the restaurant in the house. Wonderful cuisine, ingredients from the area (we were there in October, so wild was on the menu) and a very competent service. The restaurant is very popular with locals, so you should reserve places already when booking a room.

Good value for money and an exceptional restaurant

Our room was comfortable and spacious, if a bit shabby. But the staff was attentive and friendly, the breakfast was ample and the price for a double room was a bargain. What makes Hotel Löwen worth a stop-over (even a detour!), however, is the in-house restaurant.  Wonderful cooking, local seasonal ingredients (we were there in October, so game was on the menu) and super, skilled service. The dining room is very popular with the locals, so make a reservation when booking your room.
