One of the most beautiful campgrounds we have found in Greece! Spacious squares, very modern facilities, very courteous staff, large swimming pool with solarium, tavern and attached bars, small market with essentials. For those who love the sea, we must say, however, that the wind is almost constant: there is not at all an area at the entrance to the beach used for storing windsurfing and other sports equipment. If you are therefore a lover of this type of sport, it will be the perfect campsite for you. Otherwise, prepare to use the pool often: if you have come to Greece to enjoy its crystal-clear sea, then perhaps it is not the best.

Gone with the wind

A nice place with pool, restaurant and bar, very friendly and clean, so we would have liked to have found it more often. Modern, clean sanitary facilities . We stayed three nights, we had to continue. The beach is clean, great for families with children 👍

Beautiful, neat and clean 💪🏼

Very nice campsite on the beach, clean and quiet. A little small places for camper vans but it doesn't hurt. Bar by the pool, very pro staff. Not tested the restaurant but the plates looked very copious. Clean and modern sanitary. Freeze water fountain at will in the vessel space. One of the few campsites where you can book. We stayed for 3 days. Very good price compared to some campsites in Greece (90 euros for 3 nights, van <2m, for 2 adults without electricity)

affordable campsite clean and quiet on the beach

At first I didn't expect to enjoy camping life, but in the end I don't regret my choice. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant has plenty of food and is affordable. The toilets are regularly cleaned during the day, and are clean. Coming from far away, I felt at home and I have no difficulty integrating. I highly recommend this place if you want to live with family or friends.

Well-organized campsite, new and always clean toilets. Very well-organized bar area and swimming pool with plenty of shade beds and umbrellas always available. Direct access to the sea to view the little supplied market and the restaurant always open from 11:00 until 00:00 with tourist menu. Small well-equipped playground is very well maintained

A nice stay.

An experience that could have been 5 stars degraded to a mediocre one.

On the positive aspects:

1. Warm water in the showers 24/7
2. Great environment and lots of green
3. A perfect place for kids with lots of activities evey day including cinema with cartoons at nights
4. Friendly personnel who tries their best even under duress.
5. An overall resort feel at times
6. The sea in front of the camping is great for a swim and sunbathing.

On the negative aspects:

1. Bad WiFi making this a non suitable option for digital nomads who need to stay connected. Even reading emails can be a hassle.

2. Reports of theft and no security patrol on the tents even after 2 incidents were the police was involved making the experience an insecure one where you need to move around with your bag all day to ensure your valuables don't go missing.

3. No lifeguard on a pool of a camping primarily advertised as child / parent / family friendly. This lack of supervision also led to the pool getting contaminated (or at least changing in colour) and having to be closed down for a number of days during the busiest holiday period (August 2022).

4. Tent campers are allowed to park inside the camping site making the experience seem like you camped in a garage. There are polite notices to move these out but the lack of enfocement is a problem in this case.

5. An expensive restaurant serving okayish food with not enough and clearly stressed personnel that at times can't hide their distress.

6. This extends to the owner of the camping site who in a single occasion lost her temper and said to my upset wife: "if you don't like it here don't come again". And that happened over a trivial case which could have been easily handled by a professional in hospitality services.

All in all Gytheion Bay is great for kids. Not so much for adults.

The experience is expensive, lacks balance and it has the dynamics of an uncontrolled and unpleasant situation forming at any time i.e. a child being hit by a car that traverses the camping on speed, or your child having an accident at the pool due to the lack of professional supervision, or a child getting abducted as there is no control on who enters or exits the camping site.

This comes with the toll of not being able to relax as you should on a holiday as an adult and it is pretty serious if this is what you get with an average day cost of 100 Euros / day (which aligns with what we were spending at least on having breakfast, lunch, cocktails and accommodation) for 15 days (1.5k Euros)

Will we be visiting again? Well we certainly won't fullfiling the wishes of the owner (even under distress). At the same time though I would suggest everyone with a family considering Gytheion Bay as a good option for them with lots of activities but unless you are prepared to be 120% on alert to ensure your child's wellbeing then you should think again.

An experience that could have been 5 stars...

Very good price ratio (large tent+ trailer, 2 adults and one child 35€ per day). Excellent infrastructure: beautiful swimming pool with sheds and mattresses, very clean toilets (small squirrels all cute), perfectly adjustable showers, collective fridges available as well as freezers and gas fires for cooking. Animation for children in the afternoon, movies for children every evening (21h-23h). Too bad it's so late. Direct access to a beautiful beach.

Very good price ratio

One of the best campgrounds in Greece. 25 euros a day. Hot shower pool all inclusive. Great for those who have a dog. You can take it up to the bathroom floor. Great, definitely an oasis of relaxation, clean and all orderly, if there is to find a new... the restaurant. Nothing exceptional, normally but you can stay here in times of COVID.

Great camping.

Gytheon Bay is a great campsite. They provide lovely spots, many and well maintained facilities, a beautiful swimming pool. The campsite has a direct entrance to a great beach. The kids' zone and the tabletennis facilities give an additional extra. We absolutely loved this camping!

Week camping

Gythion is a wonderful place to make trips nearby, especially near Mani is a great destination for excursions The campsite is very generously laid out all the places are under an old tree stand, predominantly oranges, lemons and olives. To the magnificent beach lies a very large well maintained swimming pool (at least 20 m long) 1 bar as well as a restaurant and an extensive rest area with magnificent views from the sea. The sanitary facilities are very clean, modern and well maintained. The service on the site is absolutely professional and helpful. For the servers there is a private building in which many surfaces can be connected and hung on.
