Having just returned from a 7 day stay at Diotima’s Homes, I cannot recommend both the owner Stathis or his accommodation highly enough. 

We read the previous reviews and thought we were going to be very well looked after. Stathis went above and beyond any of our expectations. From warmly greeting us on our late arrival, to proudly showing us his beautiful private homes, to providing us with not only a welcome pack  but going that extra mile with fresh eggs to locally produced wine in the fridge and on going treats.

Stathis could not do enough for us, from very kindly helping us save money on airport transfers to providing advice on days out and best local beaches, even to suggesting the most authentic restaurants to sample.

The accommodation itself is incredible, the location high above the bay of Kalamata gives you breathtaking 180degree plus views, awesome sunsets and multiple balconies and patios to enjoy the sunshine. Built from stone, with amazing wooden features and windows, the bedrooms were perfectly sized for 2 adults. We still can’t believe just how much space you have available. The kitchen was perfect for preparing breakfasts and the occasional evening meal although great tavernas are only a short drive away. 

Seldom would we return to a location, this one provides a strong urge to return to enjoy not only genuine authentic Greek hospitality, but a truly stunning base to explore Kalamata and it’s surrounds.

This place is truly amazing. The views, the proximity to Kalamata and beaches, the quality of accommodation, the hospitality and so much more. Many thanks to Stathis and Fotis for making our stay very enjoyable.

Our second visit to this exceptional place

As a General Manager of Hotels in Zürich and now Bern in Switzerland you have a very critical view, but have to say that I was totally surprised and impressed by the hospitality of the host Stathis. He is putting his heart and his soul in almost everything he do and moreover in his houses which he built from the scratch. Lots of courtesies (water, coffee, tea, Greek oil, much more) were given to us upon arrival and were restocked on a daily basis, recommendations about Peloponnese and everyday available for questions, very clean house and cleaning service every day. The house itself is wonderful, the interior exclusive and the view just stunning and amazing.
Thanks a lot for everything Stathi, we’ll come back and already recommended to friends and family too.

Excellent hospitality in traditional stone house with stunning view

This incredible villa (similar to the mama Mia movie, but so much better) has a breath taking view of the ocean from every balcony. Overlooking the turquoise & blue water, the bay of Kalamata twinkles at night, and the soft Mediterranean breeze blows in through the huge windows - it is perfect....and I truly mean perfect.  Our host was incredible, hospitality at its best.  This is my favourite place in Greece, authentic, natural beauty with all the amenities you will ever need for your stay.  I wish we could stay longer. Will definitely book again next year and plan to bring more family with us to experience it.  Prices are excellent, and quality of villa is absolutely superb! A definite 10 out of 10 for us.

Mama Mia - it’s beautiful!

For anyone who is looking an authentic Greek experience where you feel the perfect marriage between mountain and sea, a place where you can truly feel energy of an ancient land, you found the right place. Incredible units, with an exquisite attention to detail, overwhelming view of the sea and outstanding hospitality, this is the place for you. To truly appreciate the beauty of Kalamata.

An experience from above

We (73/70J) were picked up by the owner St. at 00:30 at night from Kalamata Airport and driven to our rented apartment/house high above Kalamata Bay. The transfer was also made by him on departure. The next day our son and his wife still reach us (38/36J) The house is 2 bedrooms inclusive. Air conditioning, 2 bathrooms, living room and generous kitchen (fridge etc.) as well as several terraces. The view from the terraces to Kalamata Bay is breathtaking, especially the evening sunset. All the windows are made of high quality night snacks.

Dreamy living over the Bay of Kalamata

The residence is located on the scenic street of Kalamata in a splendid position to admire the magnificent Greek sunsets. The structure is of high standard with houses/apartments of really remarkable bill, furnished with taste and with an absolutely remarkable cleanliness. A special mention deserves the owner Stathis always available and attentive to all our needs. We stayed in August and now, now back in, we can recommend to everyone a holiday in Pelloponeso because it is really beautiful. Andrea & Daniela.

A Wonderful Stay to Remember

The house is located on the hill of Verga Kalamata, a ten-minute drive from the long sea. It enjoys tranquillity and a wonderful view of the sea. Perfect for those who move by car but not for those who want to be close to the village and shops or restaurants. The two-level apartments are perfectly furnished. Comfortable beds, clean and hygienic bathrooms every day. Bedroom and bathroom change every 2 days. Air conditioners and heating are very efficient. W-fi has terrain and stability depending on the time. Kitchen equipped with stoves and everything necessary. Light is the protagonist of the house. Very quiet and characterized by a pleasant view at any time of the day and night.
