My experience with this "hotel" showed how greedy and selfish some people can be. I booked a twin room all the way back in March for a price of 109.35 EUR for two nights (Sep 2 to 4). On the 9th of August, I received an email saying the following "Megas Rooms wants to cancel your booking 3681XXXXX as they haven't received prepayment from you."

Well, this is strange since I booked with the option to have the amount withdrawn from my account a few days before arrival. Nonetheless, it gave me the option to pay the outstanding amount of 109.35 EUR and so I did. A few days after, Megas room decided to shift the dates to 27-29 Sept (dates whereby I was not even going to be in Mykonos). I immediately thought something was fishy, so I went back on Booking.com to check the price for the original dates and suprise suprise, the price was more than 3x more expensive.

I contacted Booking.com about this and they were able to move the reservation back to the original dates. A few days later, Megas room did exactly the same thing and hiked the price up once again! In the end, my booking was cancelled and I could not be bothered to deal with these people anymore who make their money in the summer and become  lazy in the winter months.

Funny because, Booking.com contacted Megas room and they told Booking that they were "overbooked". How can you be overbooked when I booked 5 months ahead of time? And in addition to that, make available the exact same room on the original dates at a higher price?

I would stay away from these vultures as they are tampering with guest's reservations for their own financial gain! I understand that Greece is a poor country, but you shouldn't take such selfish and greedy measures for your own financial gain by tampering with guest's reservations the way that Megas Rooms did! STAY AWAY.

Do not book here! They will change and attempt to cancel your reservation shortly before arrival!

We stayed only a few days, it's close to the port so convenient for the ferry and it's on top of a little steep climb but with the car it's easy, the staff is really available and courteous and the room was always very clean with the typical Greek style colors.

Good value for money

A hotel capsule is more comfortable! Terrible: rusty faucets, no toilet paper door and dirty and poorly maintained. I asked to arrange the room because there was hair in the shower and the smell of mold, they were cleaned and filled with chemical deodorant from the environment. I understand Mykonos but 270 euro/2 nights for a room like this is not worth it.

It's not worth it.

Our room was small, but clean. There was a wardrobe cupboard for your clothes, but really nowhere to put you luggage if you didn’t want to unpack it, would have been nice to have a bench or extra chair to put it on. The Wi-Fi was not great, most of the time non existent. Air conditioner worked good. The location is a 15 minute walk from New Port, you are walking for a few minutes on the highway with hardly any shoulder and then a short, but steep up hill to the place.  Taxis are hard to get from the port and for a 3 minute drive they charge 15€. The location wasn’t great, you needed to take a SeaBus or bus to Mykonos town where all the restaurants and action is. I would highly recommend being closer to the town. When we arrived no one was there to check us in, we had to call the host and then she contacted the cleaning lady to come help us. The cleaning lady and her husband were great and tried to help even though they didn’t speak English, they were so nice and friendly. The young girl  (Anisa ) at reception was awesome,  very helpful and gave us lots of recommendations of things to do and restaurants.  We didn’t enjoy Mykonos as it is way to commercialized, touristy and very busy.

Small Room, over priced and bad location

Very clean hotel, comfortable bed, very difficult rocky access road. Small room, no luggage storage space, tiny bathroom and constantly flooded: always wet floor to be sprayed before showering. No breakfast and very poor quality vs price ratio: €125 per night in late August/early September.

It's a small, uncomfortable place to stay.

He decided to comment so that the people who come don't get a surprise. The accommodation is very fair, and the price ratio is pretty much what you want. - tiny rooms and uncomfortable beds (there are mules that clap all over the body) - the shower has no shelter and the shower plate doesn't absorb the water well so the bathroom floods. - If you pull the toilet seat once you have to wait until it works again - it's located on a hill, for a party (but everything you can imagine is huge) to come for the cars. - chickens around the accommodation, the rooster in the morning no longer lets you sleep.

The quality ratio is zero price.

Lovely room. Basic but very sufficient. We chose a room with a shower. I enjoyed my coffee in the am on the patio. 
The staff is beyond helpful,kind and friendly. 
We thought we could walk to town. We were very wrong the highway is a death trap. HOWEVER, wonderful wonderful boat taxi to town. Very close and easy to walk to so don’t hesitate. I can’t imagine staying in town. 
Don’t hesitate to book. 

Excellent communication 

The rooms in Megas Rooms are very clean, they come every day to clean them, make their beds, clean the floor, clean the bathroom and change the towels. Very much appreciated is the free transfer from the airport and the coffee machine with the bags in the room. A note of appreciation goes to Thalia, the girl who works at the reception, who was very kind to give us all the information we needed.

It's perfect!

Recently stayed here for three nights as the first part of our trip around the Cyclades. Really pleasant room with comfy bed, air conditioning, fridge, hairdryer and powerful shower. Everything you need at great value. The maid went above and beyond to help us find our way around the island and was always helpful and polite. Hotel situated close to the new port and a short ride into Mykonos town by either ferry boat (taxi), or bus, both reasonably priced. We hired a quad from Quattro rentals which is a short walk away, this was great to access other parts of the island and various beaches. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, great value and clean hospitality.

Little gem!

My sister and I recently stayed at Megas Rooms and if I could leave this place 1000/10 I would! 

When we first arrived Thalia met us at the ferry port and took us back to the accommodation which was excellent! When we arrived at the hotel she showed us a map and gave us advice on all the best places to visit, eat and drink and the best modes of transport. 

The room was spotless, a hairdryer, towels, soap/body wash, a fridge, coffee machine, glasses and crockery were all supplied! The room had its own little terrace with tables and chairs we could sit at as well as a shared terrace over looking the sea. An excellent place to sit with a glass of wine ($1.80 from the supermarket just a few minutes walk away) and watch the sun set. The beds were comfortable with a plug next to each for each of us to charge our phones. There was also ample space for all of our bags and a wardrobe with hangers to hang our clothes. 

When it came time to leave we were allowed to leave our bags at the hotel while we went to the beach for the morning. We’re able to catch a final few sun rays! 

Unfortunately our scheduled ferry was cancelled and were given approximately and 1 hour notice to catch the next one. Without the help and generosity of Thalia this would not have been possible!!! Thalia kindly loaded all our bags by herself into her car and met us at the port, without this we would have not made the ferry and would have been stuck in Mykonos. 

I cannot rate this place highly enough, all the staff were fabulous! Lovely, kind and helpful people. I would visit again without haste!
