Balatonfured

Nice renovated villa of XIX century in the center of Balatonfured. Close to the lake and bus stop. Highly recommend.
We especially liked breakfast. Good choice of hot dishes, bakery, yogurts, etc. Very tasty.

Villa in the center

The lobby was beautiful in an old world type of way. The staff was kind and helpful.  To get to our room we used an elevator to the 2nd floor, walk a bit, walk up stairs, then to our room. I can only image we transferred from one building to another.

Our room was “OK.”  The bed was very comfortable and we each had our own comforter.  After returning from sightseeing the bathroom was progressively getting more and more stinky. There was a strong odor of sulfur/sewage emoting from a drain. The following day we were gone for 6 hours to return to the foul smell. Our room smelled terrible. We are waiting in staff to inspect the issue.

Room was OK

This place is the perfect example of the old style Hungarian hotels.The building it self beautiful old family vila close to the center and the bay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is very good. 
We had a very great and happy time there.I recommend this place for everyone.

Beautiful

It's a shame, but the hotel looks like a royal residence from the outside, you'll be surprised from the inside. 70s style in the unfamiliar ambience, dark and sticky. Only the location and the free parking space pull it out. And where nice to have to check out at the holiday resort until 10am??? The food is not even of medium canteen quality. The price-performance ratio just doesn't match here at all. 420 € for 3 days HP. Nice, in a good hotel - but certainly not here. The service was not ahead and could be improved. The tables were not covered for breakfast, had everything from the youth hostel. The vending machines are nasty, the outlet is limited, except the coffee that comes from the steam.

Never again

Stayed for one night on way to Sopron. 
This hotel gives great first impression with its grandeur but found the room a bit dated. 
Bathroom one of the oldest we have stayed in Hungary over the last two weeks.
The beds were not long I am 5 foot 7 inches and my feet hung over the end so would hate to be taller. The room was very large but the two beds were pushed together against a wall so one person had to climb over the other and hence only one light.
Wifi was non existent in room 3 that we had only got it near reception.
Breakfast was good and free parking excellent.
Close to the lake and restaurants etc.

Lovely old hotel needs a facelift

The hotel is located in a quiet street, near  lake Balaton. We stayed in 2 nights, and we were very pleased and happy. Still, I would like to advise you, if you're taller than 1.75 m, ask about longer beds. I barely fit the length, but for me it wasn't an issue. The breakfast is great, the staff is very friendly. Free parking and Wi-Fi are surely a winner for me. A great bang for the buck! 

A great hotel if you are looking for a quiet place to stay! 

We had booked somewhere else but, perhaps because of the historical enmity between French and Italians, after having received confirmation via email of the booking and having traveled to the place.. we found out on a rest day, so closed! A little skeptical and discouraged we decided to follow the initial advice of our hotel owner and headed to the Astoria restaurant hotel.

Astoria, a story.

I did not stay at the hotel, but I dined at his restaurant and was very satisfied. The dishes reconcile the European tradition with the Hungarian one, they are presented in a refined way even if with too much abundance. The taste of the proposals is balanced and enjoyable, but in some cases a little tasteless (degusibus...). The wines of Balaton are very good. The service is fast, in our case we have a particularly shy but very polite waiter who has been able to communicate with us with a basic but effective English. The price is in line with the quality and standard of the restaurant.

This is a great restaurant.

The Astoria is located in a beautiful villa in the middle of Füred. In summer, the accommodation is offered exclusively with half board (very good Hungarian-style buffet). The price of HUF 29,000 per night for two people with the offer is good. What is not good. you do not feel welcome as a guest. If you pass the reception, the service owner is quite obviously disturbed in its immediate activity: fixed-line phone conversation, conversation with a colleague, computer game, mobile phone conversation (private... What's the humor?

Shame on the beautiful location.

The hotel is very close to the center and the lake promenade (5 minutes walk) but at night it is very quiet.A 5 minute walk there are cash registers and money-changing offices, supermarkets,...The rooms are very large and elegant (like those of a palace).We had a half boarding house but it must be said that the food is not the best of the hotel.The breakfast is fine, with everything you need but the dinner is a bit fair.
