Despite the guesthouse being in a great location and the rooms being of a good standard.  Beware of the host who claims to have been in the tourism industry for 30 years she knew very little English and her communication and customer service skills were very poor!! Firstly I expect her to respond to this review with malicious comments like she has done on other reviews which you can see for yourself but I am not easily offended when it comes to people who are in the wrong.  I am a frequent traveller and booked this guesthouse via booking.com on a pay at property option however with a week prior to my stay the owner tried to take the money from my card not only once but on several occasions which got declined on each occasion due to insufficient sums without her communicating with me which was very frustrating.  I paid the sum of money in as requested which was more than that of when I booked. She advised me I would be as well paying by cash but still retained the money on the card.  She was fixated on the money and made me feel very uncomfortable during my stay not a very pleasant lady to say the least furthermore she took a further amount from my card without my consent and again no warning this is not normal behaviour.  Thus more she cancelled booking on booking.com to make it look like I had not paid but I have it in black and white. Total con artist clearly been playing people for years so folks unless you like being made to feel uncomfortable on your trip and being ripped off avoid at all costs!!

Avoid at all costs!!

I’ve decided to name only the positive aspects of the stay in Elisa’s rooms, as realistically speaking, one can not expect the perfect facilities of the 5 star hotel for the very low rate. 
The communication with Elisa prior to arrival was perfect. She has given me a pretty detailed description of how to get to the place, advised to take the direct bus from the airport which stops in 2 min walking distance from accommodation.
We’ve arrived very late in the evening and she was waiting to welcome us.

The location is perfectly central with all places of interest nearby, ended up with 20000 steps on daily basis but this is another story.
I believe there is a metro station in 1 min walking distance.
The rooms are clean with a very high ceilings, refrigerator and TV in.

Temporary reconstructions works are taking place during the day in the building, however, who wants to spend the day in the room instead of discovering one of the most beautiful cities?!



“ Buona” 

Two nights for our visit to Budapest. We struggled to settle down because there was work both inside the building and in the square in front of it. We traveled by motorcycle and the parking we wanted, very close and covered was suitable for our needs, although a bit expensive. The b&b is tidy and clean. Elisa was kind and available to give us all the information (she spoke German with us because we understood). The quality/price ratio is excellent. Our room had an independent bathroom but outside...no problem anyway: the environment is quiet and discreet and, besides towels, we also had the rooms available. We have a sharp choice.

Comfortable for our visit

The owner is a liar! First about the hotel. The hotel is in the center of town, the building is being repaired when you go in through the garbage, in the evening people smoke and pee there. Our windows went out into the building where the elevator was placed. Noisy. The rooms are clean, but dangerous as there are so many extenders, and it's very uncomfortable to be in the room, one plus a bottle of wine for the repair, and not to warn in advance? And even after leaving they said that we smoked and had to pay 100 euros, but I never smoked, here's the conclusion: the hostess is a liar! It's better to rent the hotel for that money. It's really scary to come in the evening.

Stay away from here!

We visited two different rooms in two nights, the first (No.9) on the inner courtyard concerned by the work was quite narrow and with noises not well identified present throughout the night. The second (No.8) much wider with a view to the Vaci Via, very bright even though being on the first floor with the window open because of the heat there were a lot of street noises. This room has no dark windows and the tent is not enough to remove the light, so if you bother you wear a mask. Good cleaning of the rooms even if towels (scarce in its own darkness) or a fryness.

Some rooms do not

The rooms are really nice - right in the center - for the car there's a garage nearby. The rooms are on the 1st floor - NO elevator. The rooms are very small but with windows and a view of the Vörösmarty ter - the double bed has a maximum width of 1.60 m, the room has a refrigerator. The room with bathroom - the bathroom is without windows, but a little clean. The room with an external private bathroom - the bathroom is more spacious and very clean. In the courtyard there is a construction site and the entrance to the first floor is very dusty - but we couldn't determine the level of air pollution. A kitchen can be used by all guests. The bathroom is very spacious and very spacious.

 Ubicacion inmejorable

Arrived at night and immediately saw a huge construction site outside the hotel which are not shown or detailed anywhere. Next morning at 7am there were loud noises of drilling which became unbearable. 

when challenging Elisa about why this was not mentioned anywhere she responded by saying she cant do anything about it. I said fair enough but you need to let guests know that the pictures are mis leading (doesnt show any construction) and that they will be woken up at 7am. She didnt seem to get it.

good place but let down by the fact they are hiding the large building works

My partner and I arrived at the "Guesthouse" in April 2019 after a long trip from a neighbouring country. First thing we noticed coming out of the taxi and onto the street address, there's a massive construction site along the road and leading up to the massive park in front of the property.

We soldiered through the crumbly road, and into the compound which did not fare any better.  It looked like a war zone straight through the front doors.  See attached photos.  We thought we'd gotten lost, but after climbing a couple of floors with our heavy bags (no elevators in sight), we were greeted by Elisa herself.  She was nice to wait for us, and the inside of her residence seems a lot cleaner than outside.  That's when we were shocked by a few things.

We were shown a room that had 2 single beds, which was a possibility according to the booking.  The bathroom was also a separate unit from down the hall, but it was exclusively for us to use apparently.  We noticed that our room window was wide open, and had been opened for the whole day according to Elisa.  Looking out the window, we had a grand view of (the construction of) the park.  Thus, all the dust in the room.  There was no air-conditioner as well, but just a fan.  The host left a bottle of wine by the table as an apology but we were going to stay there for a week!  I didn't think we were going to breathe well with all the dust (good luck if you have any respiratory issues), and we didn't think that we'd be coming back to a clean and comfortable room after a tiring walk around the city during the week.  

We protested about the lack of information in her website regarding the construction outside, and the noise and dust that we were getting due to the opened window. This is the most disturbing experience that we encountered with this business.  The host explained that if she did, then guests wouldn't come and book with her!  She also assumed that we were only going to be there at night, so she said that the environment shouldn't really matter.

With careful consideration to us being safe and happy with our trip to Budapest, we decided to drag our bags down the stairs again that same night through the rubble and leave.  Because of the absolute shock from our short visit, we were prepared to spend some more in a hotel that was central, too.

We booked this room through Booking.com but as soon as we left the building, our booking had already been cancelled by Elisa, so there was no hope of getting some form of a refund or a review on that site.  Fellow travelers, just be careful.  The advertising photos of this facility and service do not reflect reality.  This room wasn't for us, but it may be for those who consider budget and discomfort as a priority.

We came, and we left right away...

Although the entrance is quite square and undergoing renovations, the rooms are very nice.The best, the location, very central and close to everything to see.Very recommended, good treatment and good price.
