Private landlord to whom we have slipped into a direct brokerage via Expedia without any knowledge of any kind, without any knowledge of any kind. This does not apply to Expedia's cancellation requirements, but to the rules set by the landlord!!!!! We could not travel during Corona because of the closed borders and had to pay the full price even though we gave notice in time. So from our experience I can only guess here is caution because of foreclosure and not the usual standard of proper handling of guests!!

Careful with the landlord

I spent 2 nights in Budapest staying in this splendid hostel from 31/05 to 2/06 with a dear friend of mine; we also took the guest room with private bathroom inside for 50 euros per person. In my opinion the price ratio is excellent for everything the hostel offers: the location is fantastic, in the centre and very close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Staying here you can tour the main attractions completely on foot and, being a hostel, also offers its guests the possibility to stay in a youthful, cozy and comfortable setting (with even a little cooking opportunity!). The hostel, in its furnishings, offers various hints of places to be seen and ruined even on the back of the hostel.

Strategic location & super friendly climate

The hostel is easily accessible from the airport and is close to many metro, bus and tram stops to easily move around. You will be reminded at the time of booking: there are 4 floors of stairs to do without an elevator, which can be done with a minimum of training, but getting up and down several times during the day is quite annoying.

Brownie (a girl who runs the hostel together with other boys) was really available and kind, even during our 3pm phone call because they couldn't get the combination of the entrance door to the building to work:))) the whole staff was very efficient and prodigious with advice on activities and logistics. The room was very cozy, bright with a very comfortable double bed and a lovely balcony.

February in Budapest for the Sziget Festival in a beautiful room!

This hostel was such a great find, I was heading to Budapest with a friend and we’re just a little older than the party hostel life, so this had the private rooms but still cheap and cheerful, I was pleasantly surprised. Be warned, there’s 133 steps (I counted) to the apartment, but it’s worth it, on the first level there’s a living room, kitchen, and two or three bedrooms with bathrooms, either side of the living room there’s a set of steps which lead to another couple of bedrooms and bathroom either side, we stayed in a twin room with two single beds, wardrobe and balcony, our room was clean, the bedding was clean and once we figured out the radiator, it was super toasty. There’s some food in the fridge, bread, jam, butter for you to help yourself to, as well as tea and coffee.

The staff are really helpful, we basically sat down and asked for help to plan our weekend, which was exactly what we needed, they had great tips and suggestions, they are also part of a bigger group of accommodation, just down the road there’s a party hostel, which came in super handy when we managed to lock ourselves out at 1am, a couple of hours and drunken attempts later, we got the correct code!

The location of this place is fantastic, plenty of shops and bars nearby, a short walk to the baths and the city centre, I wouldn’t hesitate to book up here again if I find myself back in beautiful Budapest.

What a gem!

TLDR: cheap, cheerful and friendly hostel, would consider staying again for a short getaway. Would recommend for backpackers.

The hostel is in a fantastic place situated fairly centrally in Pest and very near to tram lines 4 and 6. Hostel offered free DIY breakfast (tea and coffee inc.) and a selection of shampoos, conditioners, soaps, towels etc. The hostel was very clean and informative with regards to transport, activities, and some basics in Hungarian. Perhaps though, 1 too many stairs (understandable as this is advertised as a penthouse after all!). Only real downfall was that it was a bit basic, didn’t have any spare/extra pillows for my partner, broken blind, and not particularly up to the standard of other hostels I have been to. 

Small, friendly and well situated

Booked PP as it was well priced for our low cost get away and it didn’t disappoint. Once recovered from climbing the 133 steps up to the hostel it was clean and the staff were accommodating and very keen to help! It was well situated on the “Pest” side of the city with good public transport links and short walking distances to some of the main sights. Stayed 4 nights and I was impressed with the supplies of bread, jam, eggs, tea and coffee for guests which saved some money as we could have a light breakfast before heading out for the day. 
Slight critisms would be that the blind in our room was slightly broken so we couldn’t close it over the skylight, and there were no spare pillows available (but I did make do with 1) but all in all enjoyed our stay and would consider it if returning to Budapest in the future. As my first European hostel experience the bar has been set high!

Great stay

We stayed here for 4 nights in the apartment on the 1st floor and it is lovely. It has an old works charm, like stepping back it time. 
The location is easy walking distance to everything, with lots of bars and restaurants around.
Go to laundry laundry to get ur washing done by Andrew - 700HUF a load.
Great coffee in a bakery just past Teresa church, yellow building.
The staff are very friendly and know all the best places - they were great

Lovely apartment 

We can honestly say that this has been one of the most comfortable and accommodating hostels on our trip round Europe, and one that we were sad to leave behind. The staff here are excellent and always happy to help, giving many recommendations to help plan our days here.
Both of us would be happy to stay here again, and to recommend to others. 

Excellent

Very much enjoyed my stay here - it was perfect for those who like to party but also like a quiet environment to sleep in. This is my 3rd trip to the city and this will remain one of my favourite visits. Many recommendations and the opportunity to join in with other hostels on pubcrawls. I went during the week, so it was perhaps more quiet than usual. I would stay here again!
