A decent budget accommodation. Really good price, quiet, clean, comfortable and GREAT location in a lovely and safe neighborhood, I liked it a lot.  Helpful staff, open to answering questions and giving advice about the city.

A very convenient place to stay in Budapest

This hostel is not like most hostels, but it’s better. The staff is very friendly. The hostels feels like coming home and it is located in the best part of Budapest. I had a wonderful time here and met a lot of great people.

F#ck yeah, best hostel ever

The only positive thing was the location. However it was not worth it. This hostel is being run by minimum effort. Main "hall" was a reception, kitchen, bedroom, laundry and drying room in one place. Bathrooms were dirty, toilets did not seen the brush for long time. Some bleech or viniger product would help, if you do it regulary. It was for sure not been cleaned regulary. Cables, sockets in the bathroom were glued with the tape. That's not safe. There was a bucket with dirty water which was supposed to be used by people to clean the floor. What's the point to clean the floor with the same dirty water everyday!  Nobody from the staff changed it. Bedroom was too small for the amount of beds. Most likely before this room we were in, was only with 4 beds, but the owners wanted to earn more money and fitted 2 more. They forgot they need to serve breakfast. Nothing was available, guy went for shopping and only then we had something. Not so brilliant. We were staying in different hostels in our lifes and surely this one was really bad. I don't recommended it at all.
Staff was friendly, but as I said they totally don't know how to run a hostel properly.

Not a good expierence...

I had the chance to stay in this hostel for a couple of nights. The location is amazing, I was able to walk to every touristic spot in the city so I saved some money. They have good breakfast and the staff is super nice, they were always willing to help you out. The room was nice and I had a great sleep. I guess they improved the place according to the other comments. Would love to come back to this place soon!

Nice experience in Budapest

Great location
The outside of the building is very off putting as is the main bit of the inside as you walk through the court yard however once inside the hostel it is very decent. Very nice people mainly younger travellers. Decent rooms and beds and the owner is very nice. They have lockers and provide you with a padlock however there isn't enough lockers for everyone. Only issue being there is only one shower room with a toilet and one separate toilet so there is always a wait for the shower which is not the cleanest. But overall the hostel was decently priced and in a great location, the place definitely grows on you the longer you are there. Just needs a bit of a spruce and a good clean and an extra shower.

Very good for interrailing

A very good hostel with a perfect location (about 7-8 minutes walk from the city centre). If you compare the price performance, you can really only rate it very positively. If you want to make a short-term city trip and still not want to pay so much (I don't know what the prices are now, but it was very affordable then) then the hostel is not a bad estimate. The reception staff were super nice, helpful and very polite. I can only recommend further! :)

Top hostel in Budapest

Very good location but not enough to forget about the big flaws of this hotel. One bathroom for more than 20 travelers, that's a bit fair... and again, if only the bathroom was clean! You have tea and coffee as you please, oh, because the free breakfast consists of some kind of bread of honey, margarine, jam and corn flakes. Honestly, the quality of the products is very low. The reception is not very obvious: or there was no more than 9:00 to 9:00 or there was a receptionist until 2:00 in the morning. There is not enough room or storage space in the rooms.

last resort

Don't criticize the cleanliness because it lacks it. the place was dirty, the short beds, with saunas that don't cover the whole bed and cushions of pesina quality. the bathroom is a nest of mushrooms, the kitchen is really dirty and the breakfast doesn't exist. it seems that this place has lived better times. you can't pay with a card and you don't receive a bill/ticket. avoid it at all costs. pd. carry on the shower. of nothing.

I understand that although the price is really low and the situation is excellent, you can't do without any cleaning service. The bathroom is LOVER. The sheets are smaller than the size of the mattresses and the beds sink. If you notice an absolute lack of maintenance. Everything is dirty or in poor condition. Hygiene can't be an extra. The breakfast included we didn't get to try it because there is no organization that makes it easy to know that it is what is available and what is private from other customers. If you leave absolute notes at this point.

It's very dirty, really dirty.

I must say that this hostel really was afordable, but for this price in these cold months we would've expected at least warm and clean place to sleep, and we haven't found that in Oleander. The bathroom was so nasty and dirty that I could not force myself to use it. Kitchen and microwave we also didn't use because they were really dirty.. Not recomme.nding this place at all.
